The boring lame font for the subtext continues to remain incoherent to the overall design and stature of the watch. Grand Seiko cant make a 100% proper watch
Must reserve final judgment, but this is the watch from W&W I am most interested in. Modern take on that 1968 classic case. Skillfully finished movement…and hi-beat too. Titanium. Beautiful dimensions. Stunning dial and power reserve on the back. Wow. I view this as a dress watch, so I don’t want a bracelet. But that’s probably me being a boring traditionalist.
I own Tudor and GS watches. In my opinion, Tudor is more consistent. That's to say, GS often excel in some areas, but let themselves down in others. For example, you can have a watch with far better finishing than Tudor but the bracelet might be terrible and stand out as lower quality than the rest of the watch. Tudor tend to make the entire watch to a standard which feels cohesive. Because of this I feel Tudor watches can feel more "complete", and many GS watches can feel "almost perfect" but there's often one little thing that lets the watch down. Honestly though I think they appeal for different reasons. That's just my opinion obviously.
@@LRSTGS I was being a fair bit ironic as one primarily makes sports watches and for me GS excels in elegance - for that purpose I don’t need a bracelet
Hands-on photos, we have additional video but need more time to color correct it. Will be coming soon on the channel! We just wanted to get our thoughts out as soon as possible for our viewers. Thanks for watching!
I get that SLGW002 is considered a dress watch but the 38mm is just annoyingly small. 39mm would have been a better size for everyone but Grand Seiko is going to look out for their Asian customers first.
FINALLY!! GS puts the power reserve indicator on the back rather than “scrape” away a section on front dial texture for a goofy ass placement. This one is beautiful from all sides/angles. Sadly, stratospheric pricing puts them out of my reach.
The hand wound releases are the star here, but I love that SLGH021. I would love it even more if GS gave us a light blue version of that in Ever Brilliant Steel or titanium. In fact, the darker titanium contrast with the light blue sounds fantastic. Funny (or sad), I think I like more releases from GS than I do Rolex from Watches & Wonders.
The only one minute thing I have against this watch is the drilled lugs, I mean come on GS 🙄 edit: I mean even my Seiko Alpinist lugs are not drilled all the way through.
@@henryreed6237 You're very rude. I'm expressing a preference about a product in a public forum. For some inexplicable reason you've taken exception to it and you're going out of your way to be insulting. That's not very nice behavior is it.
@@LRSTGS Maybe don’t bitch about every new release that doesn’t align perfectly with your personal preferences, I’m sure that size will fit a lot of people perfectly. Some people don’t know how to keep their subjective, ill-informed opinions to themselves lol
