Recently played the Xbox version of this and its really good. Both versions were so good back in the day but it's nice to see the differences! Love this content
Just tried the Xbox version playing xbox kinda feels like i downloaded a texture pack, cool, but really kills the original vision and atmosphere behind the ps2 version. The lack of fog and lower quality and amount of reflections really makes liberty city feel more sterile and less unnerving than the ps2 version.
Each platform has it's strengths and weaknesses and the developers did a bang up job on their first outing. Too me as long as the game is playable and fun idgaf about the graphics as much as some graphics whores do 😆
The Xbox version is better looking. Xbox always ruled graphically speaking up until the Xbox One, after which it seems like Microsoft just stopped caring about the console. I ditched it and switched to PlayStation.
I have both versions and ps2 looks beter has more clarity beter fire efects. Xbox positives it runed at a biger resolution but only for a bit and it was more stable.
the xbox version have shiny reflections on the cars during the day . and more textures effects on the trees plants and water etc. the leather jacket on protaganist also the skin textures have that polish look. is obvius gta3 is running on xbox a more capable CPU than the ps2 . not to mention that the xbox have custom soundtracks you can ripp your own music from a redbook audio cd. to the xbox HDD that is a big bonus.. the xbox version is superior . same with all xbox versions of vice city and san andreas. . so dont know why the ps2 fanboys are geting butthurt on diffent channels. the ps2 version is the weaker version. of this game also frame rate
Wrong. Xbox is better from a technical perspective but a downgrade in atmosphere. Look how the cars gets bathed in red/blue/yellow/green light from all the street lights at night time. Xbox looks flat and dull in comparison. You can have your shiny cars and minimal added overall detail to the city as a whole. I'll take the superior atmosphere LOL
@@xtremegold2950 You got that backwards. Digital Foundry said in their comparison that it was the XBOX version which exhibited screen tearing, not PS2 LOL.
Only if PS2 didnt got the 9/11 attack it wouldn't look that way Xbox got more time for GTA 3 thats the reason why Xbox in some aspects look better than PS2
This is a perfect example of how higher quality dosent necessarily=better graphics. The Xbox version has higher quality textures that are “more real looking” but they don’t really fit with the world of the game. So the PlayStation version looks better because of its, technically “shittier graphics” and the blur has the same effect.
@@southsidetherealest2860 Fake news. The PS2 could handle far superior open world city graphics than GTAs on PS2. GTA was not pushing graphical boundaries on PS2 at all.

God of War, DMC3, King Kong (on par if not better than GC version graphically, with more effects) MGS games, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank. Mmm, so much great graphics on PS2 LOL
@@ShadowMan64572 all that shi was ugly to people who had a Dreamcast Xbox and gamecube back then,but I understand if you came from PSone to Ps2 anything would impress because ps1 graphics looked bad too compared to n64 and I had the ps1 with the ps underground membership in all,I also had the pieceofshi2 thats how I watched my DVD,s but the graphics were always dry looking and dirty with jaggies all over the damn place I was already use to anti ailising and good textures but ps2 trash azz gpu was missing features that gave a better image quality on screen good thing we have pcsx2 to clean it up a little but its only so much you can do to a turd no matter how much glitter wax your throw on it its a shi E outcone thats why dolphin looks better it has a better base to work on being that its emulating a system with better gpu features redream look better same reason but keep on with the theoertical bottlenecked numbers that ps2 never showed on screen even madden use to slowdown and drop frames in the pocket on the ps2 version nba live 03 the goal didnt shake when you dunked and they had straight legs no calves all while looking the worse at the same time man pieceofshi2 had the ugliest looking version of games on 99.8% of its games and its not news to anybody but a playstation worshipper who want to spread lies about ps2 looking good
Look at how the traffic lights bounce off the cars at night on PS2. Xbox looks flat and downgraded, no amount of better textures or car models will change that lmao
