@@paper_afour Indeed, yet we are powerful than we truly believe. We can change the parts of ourselves that are false to our real version of ourselves; as a metaphor, we can demolish (if necessary) reconstruct with what we truly need. Each step counts. Whoa! That was deep. Regardless, the music is so awesome, treasure every moment. Thank you for replying back. Oooh, it’s Niko Bellic time.
Yes they missed out on alot i have this game and i completed the entire storymode it is so sad and dark it made me feel bad for niko and stuff the story was so good though it made sense and it was grey and just empty inside which is the feelings for niko now,
I cry everytime i hear this song. Years ago, when i was at primary school, i left school and my grandpa and my brother went in front of school to take me home. After a while standing in the car, my big brother said: - There is a surprise in the station wagon.- So my granpa stopped the car and opened the station wagon. There was a big box inside of it. I saw a "PS3" sign. That was the best moment of my life. I hugged my granpa and my brother. We started play it at my grandma's house, and i remember all those night staying awake and play Toy Story 3 and The lego movie videogame. After some months, i was hanging outside with my grandma doing shopping. I noticed the GameStop shop, so i decided to enter in. There was a big shelf with something like one hundred games of PS3. Nothing seemed to interest me. But i found a game called Grand Theft Auto IV. At the time, every child knew only GTA V, and so i decided to buy it, thinking that it was gta 5. At home, I entered the game in the console, but... it wasn't similar to gta 5... so i asked my grandpa if IV was 5 or 4, and he said "4". So i was a bit sad, but i didn't know that that game would change my life and my childood. I started playing it, and i was enjoying it very much, i enjoyed game mechanincs, characters but most of all the story, how Niko Bellic start knowing America and the tragic story that there was behind the name of Niko. Now i live with my parents, but my brother separeted from the family and the console is broken, so i decided to give the game to my best friend, that he has a ps3, and everytime i go to his house i play Gta4 and i remember all the old times playing like Niko Bellic in the new world of America. I am crying while i am writing this, and i cry everytime i listen this wonderful and full of feelings song, but i am happy that my best friend it's still by my side and he helps me saying that my brother has now taken another path, and to not crying but to dedicate onself on your future life, because always remember, life goes on. I hope this song will never die and this wonderful story will be enjoyed from our new generation. Thank you for listening my story. Edit: Thanks everyone for the likes
After GTA 6's trailer, came here to listen to this masterpiece of a song, you can't even compare it to gta 6's trailer song, but let's hope that the theme song will be good.
@@fewkeyfewkey5414 yes, my current profile picture is Microsoft Edge... The fun thing is that I change pfp pretty often, so in few months your comment won't make sense anymore, lol
the physics, the graphics, the whether, the story... Whatever it was, it was always underrated. I have never played GTA V cz the whole game doesn't excite me. This game was the Successor no matter what
Gta5 is worth playing in story mode but dont bother with gta online its just a load of repetitive boring missions. Always prefered to play singleplayer story games myself not multiplayer crap just doing the same few missions over and over for years. One of my mates has been playing it since it came out 11 years ago now at least 15/20 hours a week and everytime i go see him hes doing the same 5 or 6 missions continuosly. Bores the 💩 out of me doing that
I really do believe that Nico isn't dead and is just in hiding or living a different life somewhere else. He went to liberty City for one thing and when he got that one thing, there was nothing else for him besides his cousin and friends. I think much like Tommy Vercetti, he just stopped doing what he was doing and left. Of course Tommy probably continued to run his drug empire but the two did everything they did for one objective and ended up getting more. I doubt we will see him in GTA 6 but I don't see a chance where we won't hear about him or even get a hint of what he's doing. Will we physically see him, no. But he's definitely still alive.
I remember reading how expensive this game was to make, back in 2008 it was the most expensive game production at around $150 million and they more than doubled the production costs in sales. This was the first GTA game to use motion capture for cutscenes and ragdoll physics, they spent a lot of time (and money) getting all the details just right from high resolution satellite scans of New York. When you read about how much work went into this game, it's truly amazing to see a vibrant city with a constantly moving day and night cycle, with shifting dynamic weather patterns that affect the game environment. It still amazes me to this day.
yep, it was 2016 when I was first able to afford a pc that can play this gem with proper fps on full maxed out graphics. even those 8 years later, it was still amazing and actually way more fun than gta 5
Best song=Best game I just finished playing through GTA 4 again. It’s perfect: The amount of endings you can have is so amazing. More than even GTA 5. No GTA game will be better than this.
GTA 4 is overrated piece of garbage lol. gta sa which came out in 2004 and gta 5 can, swim underneath the water, customise cars, parachuting, sky diving, buying properties. etc etc.. what gta 4 can do huh? Nothing. so calm down gta 4 kids
@@Redpotato2 GTA IV was a new beginning, cause Rockstar had to use a different engine (RAGE) instead of Renderware. GTA SA was the last GTA build on Renderware and then they had to switch to a new engine and it all makes sense If you think about it...Also the physics got very downgraded from GTA IV to GTA V for more arcade-is instead. And they had to change the game engine from Renderware to RAGE cause EA bought Criterion (Renderware owners) in 2004 and they never went and sold licenses anymore to studios outside of EA. I love how it starts off as almost mysterious and curious but then quickly transitions into a sinister song perfectly emulating Liberty City and Niko's experiences within it and how grimy it really is.
The harmony at 1:00 & 1:50 is so dark and powerful. The song feels like its about Nico and his journey through life, battling with his light-ish and dark side
It sound like someone hunting. Lurking especially around 1:20 the suspense and Dark tone along with the Cellos Dark Marching right afterwards. Its Beautifully unnerving.
I was 14 in 2008 when this came out, and my dad had just put in these automatic roller shutters at home. They made this cool clicking sound as they came down, making the room pitch black. So, I'd start the game and hit the shutter button at the same time. Shutters would start rolling down from all three sides of the living room and the clicking would sync perfectly with the intro. It felt like I was also stepping into this dark, criminal world along with Niko.
There's a common thing in 3 games namely GTA-4, RDR 1 and Mafia 2 which I really love. These games shows us the reality that there will never be a happy ending for those who lead a life of crime... A sad thing is that there are no pieces of art in the gaming world like these games anymore...
Mafia the lost Heaven; GTA IV (including The Lost and Damned); Mafia 2 (just guessing from what I've seen cause I haven't played it yet) and Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2. These are the games that show you well how the criminal life is, by my guesses.
The blending of Eastern European instruments in the intro with hip hop beats and classical music as the song progresses brilliantly symbolizes Niko's journey from his homeland to NY in pursuit of the American dream - it never fails to give me goosebumps.
yeah, i feel like a remaster would make the game suffer like the CLASSIC gta games clay character models, horrible ports, and lack of features that were present in the original game
Bullshit. There are always ways to better something, nothings perfect. Even If a remake/remaster would be Ass, you can still play the original. But seriously, we need a game with the music of GTA 4, with the story of GTA SA and the graphics of GTA5
I started playing this game again after like a decade, I never realized that Niko is a total chad. His personality is actually admirable. He's very forgiving to his loved ones, yet ruthless to their enemies. He keeps a level head at all times, and can control a room with his words. He has integrity, loyalty, and is a respectful, understanding character. He may be a murderer, but he's more human than most people today.
Serbian war criminal sociopath with PTSD illegal immigrant and still somehow one of the healthiest, smartest and most relatable character in all GTA games
I still remember a teacher of me showing this song in the netherlands after i talked about it XD, he stopped being a teacher after a while but i have nice memories with him.
The greatest game ever I played. It's darkest GTA ever. There is no good endings for Niko. You choose Deal, Roman dies and Kate dumps you. You choose Revenge, Kate dies. Both sad. At the end, that would be very good if they make a scene where Niko is in Kate's/Roman's grave and in backstage that sad piano plays.
Bro according to the timeline of Niko (not game), Roman was alive and Kate died. Nature is never this harsh that she will take your cousin away. Rockstar added the second ending just for players but the truth is Niko took his revenge because he cannot forget his past that what Dimitri did to him so why he need money. He first killed Dimitri then Jimmy Pegorino.
Yep I have a decent pc now with rtx I still play this game just to listen for this theme but it's just like 4 sec loading screen but back in 2015 when I have potato pc with core 2 duo the gta 4 loading screen loads about 4 min and i still sit there and listen to this masterpiece and now I miss those days.....
Being from former Yugoslavia, playing this game as a kid was everything. Suddenly everyone was playing a character from a country that nobody knew of. But I was so damn proud. The struggles he went through, his sacrifices and losses were so relatable. It was as if Niko Bellic was showing the world who and what we are. He made it in America. Now it’s my turn
Dam, after reading your comment I had to go see what you meant by former Yugoslavia, so I went read up a bit about it and bloody hell you guys had it rough. Sorry for what happened to your country and I hope you find peace and success in the states
Yugoslavia was a great nation that was ruined by Soviet aggression and pressure from greater powers to pick a side in the Cold War. After Tito died, incompetent rulers caused the country to collapse, that lead to a bloody war. The country was strong and United. It didn’t deserve what happened to it.
this makes me think of summertime, when my sister and i would stay up past midnight playing this game. this was the first gta game i ever played, and it'll probably always be my favorite. the gameplay, the story, the characters--everything about this game is amazing. and this song captures the atmosphere perfectly.. it's both a great opening and ending credits song.
Imagine how Rockstar changed the "rules" in the period 2006-2008, look at GTA Vice City Stories (2006) graphics, and look at GTA IV (2008) graphics, that is amazing!
I played this game in 2017. I still remember it lagged a lot on my laptop, so I had to adjust settings. It was my little brother's favorite GTA game and this music... it just throws nostalgia at my face.
im telling you man, the first time i heard the part at 1:47 it gave me chills because of how good it was, and to be honest, it still does. this is definitely my favorite Gta sound track of all time.
It still gives me chills to this day every time I hear that part. I remember the grand theft auto IV logo on the liberty city skyline while Niko was approaching the city on a boat. That was such an epic intro.
GTA San Andreas is an insanely enjoyable and fun game to play but when it comes to in game realism and quality story then GTA 4 is untouchable at the top
Although Niko is Serb in the plot, for me he will always be Russian, the music, the atmosphere, the image of Niko, everything has the spirit of a Russian immigrant bandit
@@MikeUnity the fact this was my first GTA game I played. And I still play it till this day, screw GTA 5 and screw GTA 6 when it comes out. 4 IS THE GOAT.
"After" GTA 6? Lmao. It's hilarious how all these nostalgia-ridden contrarians are acting like GTA VI is a foregone conclusion. We haven't even heard the theme song and already attention-seekers come with this inane "there's no way GTA 6's theme will be this good!" nonsense. All we've seen is a general overview of the setting and a few hints regarding the protagonists, just like the initial trailers for IV and V. I'll never understand this rabid desire of so-called "fans" to immediately denounce anything new. You want GTA IV, go and play it; expecting Rockstar to release the same game over and over again is futile, because it's not gonna happen. The vast majority of people _appreciate_ change and evolution, not stagnation and repetition (as demonstrated recently with Bethesda's sickeningly milquetoast "Starfield").
Its so dark and touching. When you play it long enough you evolve with Niko & you experience the pain he went through all this time. Such a masterpiece from Rockstar. GTA 5 is nowhere near interms of storyline. Graphics are better in GTA V but in terms of the physics and storyline GTA 4 is best ever
Also character development in 4 is far more better than in 5 like i feel like I could perfectly connect with any character in 4 and I love how the game makes you constantly understand that no one in the criminal world is good like during the gang war that LC is having you're playing on one side doing horrible things but then in the dlcs you play as "the other sides" and you understand that they're not so different from Niko after all....
Such a great game, As a person who lives in NY, I recognized basically every single place in Liberty City. For 2008, that was some crazy attention to detail
That's why its my favorite grand theft auto. The recreation of NY was wild. Down to people having those sweaters where it was a skeleton back then. To the Puerto Rican flag shirts in South bronx. Great game
