I am back in the Family Car Graveyard. We will attempt to get the 1966 Mustang stopping so she can make it to the road. Will we get the brakes to work? Can she turn up some dirt? Will the "Old Man" let Rev drive? Will she make it to the road for the First time in years? All these questions answered on this episode of RevStoration.

Don’t pay any attention to the ones criticizing for cutting corners. Use what you have and as long as it works, it doesn’t matter! Love all your projects, but the Mustang is probably my favorite because it reminds me so much of my first car! Keep up the good work!!

Also, a quick tip. When tapping a starter, don't tap the actual starter, tap the little solenoid box on top, that's what'll get stuck

I have always taken a hammer and hit whatever I could get to... because it is usually an emergency situation... This was a new starter so I think the battery was weak and the solenoid on the firewall was bad.

I had a 1966 convertable with the 200 engine. My last 66 was a colt with the 200 3 speed on the floor and had the console. You're doing a fine job. I had a 1972 Maverick with the 302 and she could really scoot. My wifes car whoohoo!

@@RevStoration super to hear that dad only needs glasses and even did have wear any that be excellent too! If had Cadracic on eyes and do surgery I be send prayers for him super recovery! I know lots people have done it recovery is super fast now and better than expected plus 98 % past rate for surgery even no glasses wear as much ever only for seeing small things like phone book prints!

Sounds like you need to put a vacuum gauge on that carb and maybe check the vacuum advance on the distributor is working as well. Those 200cid's weren't bad engines if you stay on top of the maintenance. Gonna take a bit of work to turn that one into a show pony!

Don, the tank had a bad weld on the pickup tube and it looses prime at about 40 miles per hour... A replacement will be installed soon... urg...

Well I stand corrected on the year after you said Sprint. I right away went and looked it up ? . and I thought I knew my mustangs. learn something every day. get a Thermostat for it it's got to be old. love the Cardboard I use all the time good insulating an comfort. Refrigerator boxes makes for an easy clean garage floor if you miss your oil pan or transmission change pan

I can't believe that Ford USA did not look into the I6 250, 2V that Ford Australia developed. My Brother owned one, it came with top loader and 9 inch in a 4 door body. It went like a scalded cat. It used to be used as a Police pursuit vehicle in the Kalgoorlie/Boulder area.

Hi Rev. The Mustang is coming along nice. She got some brakes, that’s more than she had. Motor is running, trans is working. It’s hard trying to get parts through the Internet. There's the small block type of Mustangs and the large block types of Ford Mustang. That a bored over 289 engine could bolt right up in your Mustang? Although, that six cylinder is really good also. Happy New Year.

To bench bleed you need two air hoses connect them and run them into the cylinder.then pump ìt make sure you put a little fluid in it submerge the hoses then you will see air

FYI The Galaxie 500 also came with a 390. Motor and trans should be a easy swap. My 2 door Galaxie has a 352 FE which is basically the same motor as the 390.

Just a few quick questions. Why do not use the shop? Is it a dirt or cement floor in the shop? Why is the bench and vise out side? I was just asking because it looks like a nice resource for you and your old man to use. Besides you have the best of nature. Still loving the show. No burn out, I expect some tall rooster tails of dirty flying of the tires!

Richard, the shop was being built when the home was flooded in '94. We then began a project of building a new house about 10 miles away and never finished the electrical in the shop... The shop has become a glorified storage building over the last 30 years. So there is no room left inside.. It is full of treasures.. but not much use as a shop at the moment.
