Happy New Years Eve, everyone! One last video for 2023? Yup! When planning out the Pere Marquette #1225 North Pole Express chase with ‪@DroppedSignal‬ we both decided we wanted to go to the Durand Union Station to catch some Canadian National & Amtrak Traffic and what ever else operated through the diamond. While we only caught one fast Freight through there at night time, we did stop at the Grand Trunk Western #5632 which is on display in town. The first time I saw the locomotive was in 2017. I remember finding out this was in Durand after staying in town for the #1225 75th Anniversary Excursion. The 5632 is a 4-6-2 Pacific type steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1929. It was donated the the City of Durand in 1961. I first saw the Locomotive in 2017, and again in 2019 at dusk. This was the first time I've photographed the engine in the morning. It recently received a Cosmetic Restoration over the summer. I also filmed the Railroad Park there, and got various Christmas lights around Durand. I also found a locomotive wheel in town. And at night time, we got one Fast Freight heading east. All in all, hope you enjoy my last video of 2023!
