I like his opening repertoire. It is really refreshing seeing that he brings back life to the at pro level considered dubious openings.
@vcliburn
@vcliburn 9 месяцев назад
Well, I wouldn't exactly call his opening choices "dubious", e.g., the Bishop's Opening. He knows how to manipulate these seemingly old, outdated, and well-trodden openings into positions that are vibrant, exciting, and new...especially with engines giving us new insight into these so-called "dubious" openings!

@@namikazeswapnil671 No. Just a fan of Vidit, Vishy, the 3id movie & TBBT. Poll: Which anime character best suits 1 decade (2013 - 2023) reigning world chess champion Magnus Carlsen? --- Wesley So, Bobby Fischer & Hans Niemann have NEVER done ANY of the ff evil things in chess as adults. Magnus Carlsen, Garry Kasparov & Hikaru Nakamura HAVE done EACH of the ff evil things in chess as adults. Evil : -Cheating -Baseless accusations -Discrimination (eg by cheating or baselessly accusing people mainly of a certain ethnicity or citizenship) -Treason Re treason: - Magnus betrayed fellow Scandinavian-descent Hans by baselessly accusing Hans - Hikaru betrayed fellow American Hans by baselessly accusing Hans. - Garry betrayed 2 fellow Jews Judit Polgar & Alexei Shirov by cheating them. --- Hikaru Nakamura is almost as evil as the Hikaru in Oshi no Ko. Magnus Carlsen is almost as evil as Light Yagami, Alejandro Ramirez & Vidkun Quisling. A Light Yagami from Death Note - who is about as big a sore loser as Magnus Carlsen Vs Hans Niemann or Wesley So. - For Hans in particular, Magnus cheated Alexandra Kosteniuk, Alireza Firouzja, Danya Naroditsky & Ian Nepomniachtchi but then accused Hans of cheating. LOL. Light did something similar. Light is a serial killer. - In this case Magnus' Death Note is Magnus' power over tournament organisers / arbiters / directors. Magnus manipulated ches***m to remove Hans from the 2022 CGC after Magnus quit the 2022 Sinquefield Cup. Magnus manipulated FIDE to lower the time controls in the WFRCC from 60min to 32.5min so that Wesley So will be less favoured to win after Magnus quit the 2023 WCC. HUGE PARALLEL: - FIDE lowers WFRCC time controls from classical 2019 to rapid 2022 to lower AMERICAN Wesley So's odds wanting Magnus / traitor Hikaru to win after Magnus quit 2023 WCC JUST AS - ches***m kicked out AMERICAN Hans Niemann of 2022 CGC wanting to please Magnus after Magnus quit 2022 Sinquefield Cup. COINCIDENCE? oprocyona (2022Oct) : 'Many decisions in tournament chess are made to favor the player that brings in the most sponsorship dollars and views, which is undoubtedly Magnus. There's also no doubt that Magnus generally dislikes americans- he said so on one of the Magnus effect podcast episodes.' See here : Magnus Effect episode 2 - 20 Best Ways to Introduce Yourself Source: ydwn2y zs4zpf B Bandit Keith from Yu-Gi-Oh! - who is a hypocritical cheater for cheating but then accusing Joey of cheating like Magnus who cheated but then accused Hans of cheating. - Actually Bandit Keith is a non-Japanese who cheated a Japanese and then accused a Japanese of cheating. - Magnus is a non-American gentile who cheated Jewish Anish Giri, Jewish Alexandra Kosteniuk, Alireza Firouzja (non-American gentile too, but Alireza was becoming French - the top French at the time was MVL who is Jewish), Jewish Danya Naroditsky & Jewish Ian Nepomniachtchi. Also, Jewish Garry Kasparov cheated FELLOW JEW Judit Polgar (Also, Judit's onee-san Susan is American) & Vishy Anand (non-American gentile, and I have no explanation for this). - Yet Magnus baselessly accused a Jewish American of cheating. Also Garry accused American company IBM of cheating re Deep Blue. C TALENTLESS Nana Hiiragi - because Magnus is TALENTLESS for losing to Wesley So in the world Fischer Random chess championship DESPITE being then 4x reigning world chess champion. (In chess, how good you are is a combination of opening theory & then talent after the opening is done. In chess960, there's no opening theory, so if you lose, then the only reason is talent. This makes Magnus TALENTLESS because h strength is 99.9% opening theory and 0.1% talent.) Based on episode 1: Magnus Carlsen reveals to Wesley So that Magnus is actually Talentless, and that Magnus is killing Wesley So before Wesley So leads the other Talented to become the true Enemies of Chess. As Wesley So loses Wesley So's grip and falls away, Magnus receives a text message claiming Magnus has saved one million people from 9LX. D Kaguya Shinomiya unlike Miyuki Shirogane from Kaguya-sama Kaguya is a 'pampered goldfish' like Magnus, the top classical player. Miyuki 'is a prodigy, had a rather dark childhood and is American' like Beth Harmon, Wesley So, Bobby Fischer & Hans Niemann. (Well Miyuki might be an American resident if not ultimately an American citizen. Also, Miyuki is blond.) Wesley So is the top classical Fischer random chess player, and Bobby Fischer is the creator of Fischer random chess. Kaguya's chess strategy highly relies on opening prep. You can see Kaguya has a huge team of computers and seconds like what the Soviets had before. But Miyuki's chess strategy is largely about thinking on h feet. Bobby Fischer single-handedly ended Soviet domination of world chess championships in 1972. Similarly, Wesley So single-handedly ended Magnus' domination of world chess or Fischer random chess championships in 2019 (Fischer random chess by definition has no computers). Kaguya is greater, but Miyuki is more talented. This is what I was told in 2021 about why Wesley So's chessgames page is the top page in kibitzing : "He has some very ardent fans, mainly from his native Philippines I think. I get the feeling that when countries haven't had a history of producing elite sportsmen, they really gravitate to the ones which they do produce. For example, Salah's Egyptian fanbase is pretty infamous. On its own, it's pretty harmless. There was a period however, where a section of his fanbase tried to mark Carlsen down as Wesley's big enemy, saying that he only rose to the top because he was a 'pampered goldfish' who got invites to elite tournaments early on whereas Wesley had to face the 'barracudas' in open tournaments. Think that's died down though and when goldfish and barracuda are brought up, its more often in ironic fashion." E Long Feng from ATLA/TLOK - gaslights people 'There is no cheating done by Magnus, Garry or Hikaru.' Hans is like Zuko. F Ash Ketchum from Pokémon, world champion - JUST KIDDING. MAGNUS WAS NEVER THE WORLD CHAMPION. Wesley So is the WC. Magnus is a 5x classical WCC, 6x blitz WCC, 4x rapid WCC but a 0x classical WC (& 0x rapid WC). Wesley So is the only (classical) WC in history. (Hikaru is the only rapid WC in history.) Here the joke is the I'm arrogantly defining 'WC' to be 'WFRCC' instead of 'WCC'. But really who would Bobby Fischer consider to be the Ash Ketchum of 2019Nov - 2023Mar : Wesley So, Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura? . . . . . . . . . P.S. Wesley So on Lex Fridman xcdhgq P.P.S. Interview while imprisoned p1w4Rr-1Uk Pablo Mercado: So what is your advice to the Filipino chess players? Uncle Bobby Fischer: My advice is to give up chess and take up Fischer Random. - 2004Oct11, 15 years before nephew Wesley So became the inaugural WFRCC in CLASSICAL time controls.

#suggestion please please show the clocks on the channel for all games if available. Even classical games. It is not only about how much time is left at resignation but also how much is of the moves are part of prep. Where a player is thinking for how long and much more insights. Even for blitz there are so many time controls like Tata steel playoff sudden death had 2:30 vs 3:00 minutes. So please forget the robot with C R B.

Luckily Wei Yi won the tie break to become the champion. If he has not, all these immortal games played by him would not stand on very high ground as only the winner will be given due recognition. Wow Tsinghua University is the best university in China and in Asia! An amazing feat in his education journey!! The way Wei Yi played vs Wenjun and Nodirbek reminds me of someone (I think it could be old self some 12 years ago!) I love playing reckless and sharpest lines, almost like a sadist lol (like I love getting attacked and don't mind putting my king in weird squares if I think my king is safe!) Came back to chess around 2years ago and I can't find the same joy playing like the old days because now I've learned some openings and became more of a rigid (more solid but less adventurous) player 😢

First time I literally saw the idea, I did look at some ideas like bxd4, and that the knight on d4 covers the squares of the knight at the rim which might be why you want to sacrifice it to trap the knight at the edge, I also saw that qh4 would be a perfect move to follow up the bishop move!

I think the Alekhine against Nodirbek was a great choice. You have to wonder, when doing prep for this tournament, how much time Nodirbek spent on review of the Alekhine. He may have done a bit as Yi has played it before but certainly nowhere near the amount he would have done on more commonly played stuff.

Unrelated but chess question for you all. I can't understand that a mediocre player can get, say, a 90% accuracy rate in a game. I get that it also depends on the opponent s own moves, but still. Would that player face a good one, the latter would take quick advantage. Anyway, you get the gist: how can accuracy be high if the moves could be so much better?
