Donut Operator hey Donut have you heard about the 79 year old grandma out of I believe California that saved 2 LAPD officers. 2 officers got into a shootout with a local street gang and were outnumbered, Grandma strapped up her bulletproof vest and grabbed her AK-47 and helped them, its a crazy ass story my wife showed me from her Facebook
Yes of course, the holy hand grenade of Antioch. It's one of the sacred relics brother Maynard carries with him. Brother Maynard bring up the holy hand grenade!
I wouldn't be happy about my grandma getting hurt, but bruises are better than what likely would have happened if she went back into the house with the armed, suicidal man. Bruises can heal. You can't bring someone back from the dead.
I guarantee you the old woman was on blood thinners. The elderly on blood thinners bruise extremely easy. I mean a simple thump will show bruises. So the marks on her arms is not a way to prove excessive force.
The fact is she is unwell they were told not to disturb her she had minimal cognitave function and after 4 strokes is hardly a threat requiring any physical force if you had to lay a had on old gma because you felt unsafe it's cause your lacking where you balls should be hanging anything they did was ecsesive I support the hell out of police except for where they blindly follow protocol with no regard to context .... Case and point my dad has a head injury and does not make the best decisions so he had some tickets that went past for speeding nothing major just misdemeanor shit he litterally forgot to handle again head injury on the day that he was supposed to go get fitted for an ankle monitor he actually wound up in the hospital with sepsis and almost died was in a medically-induced coma for three or four days and then was transferred to a nursing home he is physically unable to leave the property he's in a wheelchairtook them for a month or so but eventually Denver PD came and picked him up and a judge sentenced him to a hard 30 days in jailI don't see anybody else this might not be an issue but my dad has maybe 50% cardiac function and a severe cardiac respitory condition as well as multiple other conditions ..... for him to live he needs oxygen during the day BiPAP at night and a constant supply of pain management while he was in there he barely got his pain management they did give him oxygen but they would not give him BiPAP meaning that night his blood oxygen levels were dropping down nearly 75% which is enough to cause minor brain damage and he is somebody who already has a head injury....and this my mom told them that they need to take care of him or we will sue the everliving f*** out of the city they did notshe also pleaded with whoever was in charge of getting him released to have him released at a time where she could be there to pick him up and instead they released him into downtown Denver at 1 in the morning when it was 10 degrees out with no jacket in a wheelchair with a dead cell phone my dad is a Marine corps veteran from the Vietnam era and they put him on the corner to die over traffic tickets so when It comes to how they handle things like the elderly they could do alot better they could have brought EMTs to help with the grandma they are good at subdueing roudy old folks
“If this was your grandmother what would you do?” Me: Gather all the information and wait for body cam footage or reports to see if Grandma saw what she think she saw.
I'm 59 years old. With a combination of thin skin, and thinning blood, my arm could look like Grandma's after being assaulted by snaking into or out of a long-sleeved shirt. This is exactly what my doctor told me after I was concerned by nasty bruises showing up when I could not remember any trauma. She said that's one of the crappy things about getting old.
@@geoffreywood5808 but they weren't sent to help her? they were sent because of a suicidal man with a gun. all things considered, its not a good outcome, people getting hurt, especially old people, isnt a good thing, but i feel like in this situation the officers involved didnt mean to injure the woman. its most likely a combination of nerves due to the sketchy situation, and the "less than gentle" way cops are trained to handle non-complient individuals. its a bad situation with an unfortunate outcome. it could have been a lot worse though. a better way to look at the situation would be in a training light when dealing with elderly bystanders. (that citation is BS though)
Im not defending anyone but when my grandmother was about this age she would get bruises from standing ip from her chair you cant just say they beat her because olf people are softer than bananas
I work in a care home and I can tell you this easily off of experience, an elderly person bruises so easily it's insane, even if it's a tiny amount of pressure you are putting on the elderly person, a bruise will appear. So, although the damage with the elderly person looks horrific, not that much force was probably used compared to an actual takedown police would use on a suspect.
So your ok for police to be sent on a welfare check, then assault, knock out, and cuff the little old lady they are there to help? If that’s true, you should NOT be allowed within 1000 yards of ANY health care facility.
Grandma probably had an attack microwave and a fully semi automatic AR 16 assault rifle with a high capacity 100 bullet clipazine with a chainsaw attachment .
Dude the biggest reason I appreciate your videos is that I used to have a very negative opinion of the police, as a result of misinformation. You are partially the reason I thank every Officer, EMT, Veteran/Active Service Member, Doctor, and Fireman for their service. I've never truly come close to death, nor have I ever, willingly, put myself in a situation in which I would experience that. Those men and women do that everyday, for a living. Money does not compensate for the sacrifice these men and women make for our country, I am eternally grateful and forever will be, and Donut, I want to personally thank you for giving me perspective, something everyone needs.
despite being (on average, although that average is dragged down a bit) the most intelligent animals on this planet, we can act as if we had brains the size of a walnut. "these people say these people bad, that means these people need to die". It's almost as if we have a system that allows us to research certain subjects at a moments notice that is accessible on a grand scale.
The bruises look a lot worse because her skin is very thin. My grandmother has thin skin too. If she barely bumps her elbow, it looks like there is a big ole patch of blood below her skin. But yeah, they should’ve been more gentle if possible.
Stop using your brain to make sense! This is the internet. Your opinion is only valued if you overreact to everything and then blame the cops for all the atrocities in the land.
A guy with a gun in the house she tried to go back in to and you want the cops to be "gentle"? They WERE being "gentle" given the circumstances, you moron.
Heeeeeeyy Donut, you are way too level-headed to advance any political agenda. You consistently make the point of 'story completeness' being the political neutralizer. Keep on rollin' the way you do!!
Great that you called the police about that commentator. Probably just a troll but I think all of America is in agreement we don't take chances with that stuff anymore.
Robert Hall It was most definitely a troll. I'm pretty sure Donut knew that and was just being a dick. It doesn't bother me that he tattled, but this is probably the real truth.
The bruises are typical of patients on warfarin (Coumadin) it doesn't take much to make bruises like this. Just a poke leaves a finger shaped bruise. Bruising also happens spontaneously, especially if the dose is not well controlled. I used to see medics all the time underestimating the clinical significance of bruising because they only consider bleeding.
who lied? seems that his account happened exactly like he said. They bodyslammed an old lady. I get that you can't let her get back in the house, but they couldn't prevent that in any other way besides Batista bombing her?
"The police were called to her residence for a wellness check for a close family member who lives on her property." *Blatant lie.* They were called in because he was suicidal and had a gun. "They were specifically asked to bother or question my grandmother because of her present & very fragile state." *Blatant lie.* They didn't know she was even there until she left the house. "They forced her out of her home and onto the street" *Blatant lie.* She left the house herself. "They handcuffed her after she woke from her unconscious state" *Blatant lie.* Why the hell would they do that AFTER she woke up? "they called my mother (who originally made the wellness check call)" _Probable lie._ "& told her that my Grandmother "slipped"." *Blatant lie.* "The officer who came down to the hospital only seemed to care about deflecting & defending the officers involved." *Blatant lie.* "No accountability. No apologies." *Blatant lie.*
Okay, that's four insults in four sentences so far. Over a profile picture and literally nothing else. As if I haven't seen that before a hundred times. If you have nothing left to say I would suggest doing something productive instead. You're not impressing anyone.
here's the real kicker, I'm not trying to impress anyone. And do you really think I need more to go on than an anime profile pic? That already screams "I've never seen a real titty in my life" by itself.
If this woman had a past history of stroke, she was most likely on blood thinning medication. You could bump into her and cause her to bruise. Also, people who are on blood thinners bruising takes longer to heal, therefore she could have had at least some of the bruising previous to the episode.
Your haircut and beard in this video suits you the best. Outstanding commentary as always.....I come home from the heat of the construction site and fire up a cold one and enjoy watching you often.....keep 'em rolling. thank you.
hahahahhahahhaa let me just pull out my super high budget program i just see a fucking drawn square i couldnt stop laughing and its 2.30 am i think my parents might kill me lmaoo
Please keep doing the smile at the end of your vids. Its one of the few things that keeps me up thru the day. Thank you for being such a great human Daddy
The date February 14, 2018 is a date I’ll always remember. School shooting happened, good friend died in a car accident, and this “incident” happened. It’s hard to wrap my mind around the fact that my good friend sj died around the same time. Crazy
This is a perfect example of monkey in the middle. Donut I love your videos man. You rock you are truly bias and you give us the facts. Thank you sir. The mustache and the Super Troopers poster in the background brought some comic relief
My grandma used to pull her Derringer on deputies all the time because she'd pull it on anybody for no reason. If she got slammed to the ground, I wouldn't even be surprised. I don't think anybody ever worried about it tho, because it was a black powder pistol and nobody ever saw her actually taking care of it. I think the trigger was locked up
Im usually not very critical of actions made by police because many are split second decisions that have to be made quickly. However in this case something really does not add up. You make no mention if they actually found a guy with a gun in the house. Also do you really need to throw an 84 year old woman to the ground to stop her from going anywhere...there is more to this story. It's great to support police, but they do make mistakes and break the law just like everyone else.
For the record if you are an elderly person who takes blood thinners of any sort you would know that even bumpin your arm against a wall or anything with little to no force will cause a gnarly looking baseball sized bruise. (Gramps always bumped his arm getting in his truck) I know the bruised areas look nasty but most of the time the bruises never really hurt. I do hope this lady healed up okay and I hope all you people stay safe out there. Luv u donut
I know this is 4 years old but I watched the Bodycam and it is indead excessive force. They already had the woman behid the police vehicles and had the ability to restrain her without the arm bar throw. Really wish Donut actually did updates. Too often he only does one video where he states he'll make a follow up video with the bodycams, but never does, wether the LEOs were in the right or not.
I’m really surprised that you haven’t had any more videos on Phoenix PD. Being from AZ I’m really surprised that w all the shootings that took place late 2020/ early 2021 would be nice to get some more content on that! I have seen plenty and they’re very interesting if I must say. Look up the Phoenix Police critical incident briefing youtube channel.
Spirited Phoenix Son, Donut once sported a someone creepy yet definitely Village People-isk, policeman-ish man stache. After a long standoff, a stash-a-side occurred. Leaving donut operator to fend for himself on the Mean Streets of RU-vid looking like a 13 year old boy that had gotten kicked out of detention. Sad but true.
