I thought the exact same thing when I saw this! I said holy shit its hickock in car form! Those 2 need to hang out. Followed by I will be cool like this dude when I get old.
One of the best TRC vids I've watched! Love how grandpa is so passionate about his Subie. God bless his soul and may he live many many years to enjoy his thrill :)
It's definitely not something you will ever see again that's for sure. This is the only guy his age who has a subie and will ever have a subie like this.
Grandpa is the embodiment of everything "tuner" and passion. "Could've got a Corvette or something, but everyone has one of those." What a TRULY unique, dedicated and special build. Coolest Grandpa ever, and a monstrous "TRC Viewer Approved Stamp" because of that.
Can’t imagine pulling up to this old guy in my 500hp STI and him dragging my ass by a bus lol. Really the ultimate sleeper setup when you consider his age and the car together. Fucking awesomely hilarious.
@@Nicatlotus He wouldn't drag you in a 500 HP sti that's lighter and has more control of the power band with a manual gearbox. That's how I know it's cap
Mike comes into my work all the time he’s a great guy. When I asked him why he built the car he gave me the same exact story he told in this video and he didn’t spare a detail. He truly loves his car
@@von... Carolina reaper and other super hot plants. I’ll have 10+ different varieties of super hot peppers next season, should be a total of 60 or more plants.
@@chickenfoot8803 damn that dope dude. I have not grown any besides a single baby bhut jolokia plant I was gifted, but the whole breeding plants & creating new hybrids side of things is beyond fascinating to me. Stoked to hear you are into it enough that you continue to elevate & diversify your lineup!
These TRC vids keep getting better and better ,very diversified. Way better than just filming 6 figure cars that the average American can never obtain. American Hot Roddin at its finest.
Mike such a good guy! That thing is so comfortable still, he let me drive it and it’s so misleading hearing a v8 lol. He literally does drive this thing everywhere.
3:40 Man I would have loved to see the look on that Camaro drivers face. Imaging flexing your new whip to your friend and a Subaru forester smokes you outta nowhere 🤣🤣
This was an awesome feature TRC!! What a treat it was to watch this older gentlemen share the same passion that so many of us have! Really shows that what we do has such a large reach, woulda been really cool to hear some stories from back in the day if he had any of shenanigans he might’ve gotten into in his younger years or what other kinds of cars he had! Bring us more of these out of the box setups, loved it! 💪🏻💪🏻
What a wholesome man, I bet I could spend hours talking to him and listening to countless stories he has to share❤🤩. May the good Lord bless him with health and protect him and his loved ones always🙏✝️
What an awesome build, and a great owner! Unusual build, but yet, perfect! If it was AWD, that would put the icing on the cake. It’s still awesome though!
Back in 2001, I had a Subaru Forester and installed a turbo kit meant for a 2.5RS on it and made 225whp and I thought I had the greatest sleeper of all time...this Forester takes my old idea to a whole other level I could have only dreamed of...simply fantastic build
nice build. But, if the 2.5 was falling off, then the turbo & cams where too small. I'm waiting for someone to LS swap a Subie while leaving the awd system.
Wouldn't work at all, subaru gearboxes are made of glass and break all gears around 350ft/lb sooo any v8 would put too much torque through it to do any pulls at all, and where the transmission mates to the engine in the Bay would make a v8 sit up in the air blocking your entire view lol
@@RadDadisRad I'm sorry what? My 2010 Forester XT has the original 4EAT automatic with 253K miles. It has survived MANY 13psi launches and thousands of full boost shifts. The 4EAT is strong as shit at the kind of power levels you'll be running on a TD04, VF52, or VF39. The 5 speed manual is the one that is extremely fragile.
I aspire to enjoy life as much as Mike is when I hit his age. There is the heart of a kid living inside of that old body. About as wholesome as it gets.
I wish I had him as a grandpa he's a cool dude. he would do good in the This versus That on the hoonigan channel but I don't think he'd want to do it cuz he'd go up against Lia Block in the Hoonicorn.
My GPA drives a 2004 impala ss indy edition cleanest one in tge country looks better than new has like 35k miles on it he just bought a 2020 blackout ltz model hes 96 yrs old
Has anyone else noticed they never get anything on This VS That that's likely to beat the hoonicorn? Well they may have done, but I got bored of watching it a long time ago. It's the same every fucken time.
I lived 10 mins from where this is filmed and never seen this guy. Between the valley and flag all the subies I see are usually doing 10 under and not fun cars... lol This is amazing
