Grandparents React: Avenged Sevenfold-Cosmic 

I think it's really important that you understand just how cool your grandparents are. I'm in my early 50s (not a grandparent), but my own parents - both of them - would have called this garbage and made me shut it off 20 seconds into the (brilliant) guitar solo. That your grandma especially, is so attentive and insightful is a testament to them, but also provides a peek into the way the next generation of grandparents (mine) will be - more attuned with our grandkids and more relatable. My own grandparents, while lovely people, were so far removed from interest in anything they couldn't directly relate to - it's night and day. They're good people, and how much you love them shows through. And Cosmic is an incredibly dense song, sonically. There's so much going on that it can be hard to follow for people not used to heavy music or prog, in general. A better gateway to Avenged, that they may be able to follow and relate to better, might be something like Angels or Roman Sky, from The Stage.

I think most of us had their same initial reactions. Confusion in the lyrics’ meaning. Curiosity on the “sections”. Man I love this song! Roman Sky would be a great next song for them, because they seemed to love the singer and acoustic instruments!!

I was emotional the first time I heard it. Beautiful metaphorical lyrics and the instrumentation is powerful. Love this song.

That was great, your grandparents are sweet, although I do believe your grandma made a mistake with her 7/10 - if she hears it a couple more times I reckon she'd change to a 10/10. A7X are also my favourite band ever and Cosmic is a fantastic track, makes me very emotional

first time seeing the channel cause of avenged sevenfold, loved it. if they like less heavy songs from this band i would suggest: so far away G death girl i know tension unbound (the wild ride) fiction roman sky st. james angels warmness on the soul until the end seize the day victim set me free dear god also if it is possible u should cut screen in two pieces and put their cameras next to each other, that way we can see both of their face expressions on every moment of song
