I've just found your page. Thank you for the tutorial. I've wanted to make a postage stamp but was told I was inexperienced to do small blocks. After bring told this over and over I lost my will to learn. Thank you for making me want to learn.

There is *nothing* better for learning to quilt with precision and accuracy than to do miniature blocks or quilts!. Miniatures not only help with sewing techniques, but also help direct you to the type of piecing and the colorways that appeal to you. Shame on the people who discouraged you!

I dislike starting a SAL behind but darn if I don't want to try to make at least one of these. Thanks for the inspiration. I'll supply the perspiration.

Should I starch my fabric scraps?
@connieolson8497
@connieolson8497 Год назад
Do do use locking stitch on first stitch? What do your stitch length. I use 1.8, would that work. I have 2” squares. I might use them up. Eith just use them or cut the. All down
@deniseshaffer611
@deniseshaffer611 Год назад
I do not use a locking stitch. Because the seams will intersect it is not necessary. I use a 2.0 stich length most often. Thanks for watching!

I don't starch my fabric before hand. I do sometimes during the process of assembling the block. Great question!

@deniseshaffer611

It needs to be pretty hot to get those seams nice and flat.

A lot of times when we are being filmed we can't apply the pressure or technique we normally would.
