Hey Guys!! Excited to share with you some more stuff about Grant Holloway. We gonna talk about two secrets that I only see Grant doing! If you wanna support the channel like and leave a comment! Stefan
Pay attention to Grant's frequency between hurdles in the 110m. He's always slowing down. After the 7th hurdle. He gets up to speed so quickly that it pushes him up on the hurdles layer I. The race and it subconsciously makes him slow down. That's where he typically loses. He either has to not start as fast so his race frequency has a more consistent tempo or force his lead leg down faster over those last 3 or 4 hurdles so he has more real estate to sprint. Either way, it's a glaring issue and he has the ability to have broken the 110 world record 10 times over.
This is so true and I noticed it when Hansel parchment walked him down to. Another thing is that he tenses up at the end and the slowdown is so obvious
Great that you noticed that. My trainer told me it is because he takes his lead leg over the hurdle from behind instead of only in front of you, what this does is that it takes away the tension in your feet. If you kick your lead leg from only in front of you, you are way more efficient and more powerful when you land. That is why at the last 3 or 4 hurdles he fails to pull through and run a new world record. He doesn’t have this problem in the 60mh because there are only 5 hurdles.
Just being honest do not mimick great athletes 100% there is no perfect technique and everyone has certain things about them that are outliers , that's IMO it could work for you buy no guarantee
Couldn't agree more. He got to this by training it over and over again. We all have to do the same thing and go through trying different things. Only than, we will be able to find our own things and clues that work for us individually. However, I believe studying and trying what other athletes are doing can rapidly increase the speed of self discovery and technique development.
@steviej9332 yes but I'm saying it as I too have done this in the past and made my self run slow at conference and regional meets in college, if it works by all means go for Stevie but make sure it works for you without taking away what you do best if it's doing that it's probably not the answer again this is my opinion I'm not certain at all
The times are greater now because of two reasons. 1. Seven steps before 1st hurdle . 2. Speed maintain after 7th hurdle during 110mh run. To execute both , you have to have power. The reason for that power is….
I actually started doing this technique 12 years back in 2012. Here's the video I put up then showing some of my initial goes with such: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P5veZmxB4lU.htmlsi=3CT_YS-8tUdweK6P Such a technique is certainly amazing for the first half of the race. The 2nd half I'm not so sure but surely can be perfected for a full 110mH race as well.
