Australian singer-actor, Grant Smith, spent his life working in music and the visual arts: four decades in Opera and Music Theatre followed by over a decade managing Gallery Gabrielle Pizzi - one of Australia’s most prestigious Indigenous Art galleries. His opera, operetta and musical credentials in Australia included SWEENEY TODD, CATS, MAN OF LA MANCHA, ORPHEUS IN THE UNDERWORLD, BEAUTY & THE BEAST, FLEDERMAUS, CALL ME MADAM, THE EIGHTH WONDER, ASPECT OF LOVE, DEAR WORLD, THREEPENNY OPERA, THE GHOST WIFE, LOVE BURNS and TROUBLE IN TAHITI. This excerpt from the Finale of Act II of Franz Lehár's THE MERRY WIDOW comes from His Majesty's Theatre, Perth, in April 2003 and captures the Danilo of Grant Smith. The cast included Elisa Wilson in the title role, Gillian Ramm and Michael Martin as Valencienne and Camille. The West Australian Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Brian Castles-Onion.
