Great sound design! I have an idea/tip regarding the last technique, although it works for many others (like the drum one). Put a delay onto the sample, make it sound distinct enough, and then render and drop into Quanta. Samples with dynamic FX like delay give great effects. Also try: after rendering the delay-fxed sample, inverse it.
I still have no idea how these videos get so little views. This is the best content for learning sound design/synthsis I've found. Wish you the best and I'm looking foreward to new tutorials.
Given that it's such a niche subject, I'm actually impressed that the views are that high. The number of people in the world who know what granular synthesis is has to be quite small.
@@dannyboycinco And you have to consider the number of people who do make sounds but wouldn't know what granular is. Many are musicians who play keys and just know about making basic synth patches or whatever their keyboard supports, ie. waveforms, FM, subtractive, etc. We're a different species.
@@em7dim9 facts, but when the few of us find hidden gems like Tom from Synth Hacker you end up buying everything in their store! 😅. I even bought the dubstep "Molten" pack and i don't even make dubstep music 😂
Number 8 for me, i was looking for a background method for my chords, and hack number 8 was perfect. Thanks for teaching me something new. You gained one more subscriber. ♥♥
Can't thank you enough for this video. It got me up off the sofa and I fiddled around with a granular synth using my voice as an input which led to me effortlessly finishing a song. This was the spark of inspiration 😀
Number 10 definitely! I don't have Quanta, but Oi Grandad! can do something like it in this case: definitely a keeper. And number 2 would be second-favourite: I'm always a sucker for different ways of making pads from unlikely sources. And thanks for the inspiration to look more closely at the plugins I already have.
awesome video bro. Now there are a bunch of videos that ive watched on all these different granulizers such as Sound Toys Crystallizer, Fruity Granulizer 2, Portal by Output, and a some others. Which do u think is the best? I know they all have their qualities but if u could pick any 2 which would u say are best? Im assuming since u already have quanta u like it alot? pls lmk. Thanks!
I have just bought this plugin and no matter what sample I drag in it sounds the same, I used default preset to get a feel for the plugin and now it is stuck on every sound, unless I change it to one of the other horrible presets. I have never had such a horrible experience with a plugin straight away, please help me
If you have FL Studio they have fruity granuliser. Emergence. Free Ribs. Free Grain strain. Free Arturia efx fragments. Paid Native instruments. Form. Paid.
This is great, I am currently choosing to use granulator midi rack on ableton, however I really enjoy the plug-in you are using. Is there any way to get the grains in time with the bpm of the track? Just curious?
I've just "discovered" your channel. So many awesome techniques in this video, and my favorite is the very first one. Definitely will incorporate them in my next tracks, so thank you for sharing!
Love your videos, thank you so much for making them! really inspiring! You know so many cool sound-design tricks! Bought Soulect super cool presets!:) Greetings from Norway!
i've always wondered why the pitch shifting plugins i used sounded so grainy up or down. turns out, i've been using this the whole time! (or at least a more primitive vst compared to this space shuttle of a plugin)
