This is what happens when you buy a used iMac and don't pay attention to the condition of anything.
I uploaded this to Facebook on 10/10/18 in response to a gal that was trying to play MachWarrior 2 on her iMac. She said that the speakers started to buzz during the intro. I got a copy of the game off the internet, and checked for myself. As soon as it started playing, my speakers were making the same kind of buzzing and tapping sounds.
Turns out this is a common problem on iMac G3s. As the Mac ages, the speaker surrounds lose adhesion to the rubber gaskets or o-rings in the speaker and they literally come apart. You can see the Graphite iMac in part one of my Sorting out the iMacs video. It's all taken apart.
