Canelo is living proof that with enough dedication, discipline and commitment you can achieve almost anything in life. Watching some of his fights is like watching a movie.
Been saying for years that Canelo is a fantastic boxer purely by his skillset. He doesn't have a style and frame that will translate to all-time great status when its said and done even though he is already somewhat in the conversation, but give his skills to the all-time greats, and they would be elevated even higher. Explosive offense, elusive defense, all while staying in the pocket.
Jabs..... Boxers with great jab interrupt Canelo rhythm (Bivol, ggg, Floyd) all use the jab and stepping first with back foot great Strategy but someone with high boxing iq will manage to throw counter or even use Canelo rhythm against him
@@thesweetness-860i mean I ain't gonna lie canelo mostly receives all levels of criticism either it good, fair, bias criticism or just pure hating mans never gonna get the real praise he honestly should get regardless of how y'all about the man
@@getrelaxed3848 he switched to putting more weight on his back leg instead of front leg heavy and instead of stepping forward the traditional way (front foot then back foot follows) he step back leg first then front leg to slowly close the distance it’s more of a sneaky way to get close. And the reason he switched to leaning back more on and more back foot heavy is to see punches coming better and to step back faster.
It's funny all throughout these highlights, I see Canelo's very compact frame with large muscle mass, but because he is 5 9 his fans insist he is small. He's been rehydrating to 165 even at Floyd's catchweight, and 180s years ago. Nothing small about him.
He also has a sizeable 70.5 inch reach. That's on the higher end of average even at middleweight, and he has had only 15 fights at or above that fight. But credit to him, he is constantly challenging boxers with bigger reach.
That's not bladed footing. Squared footing is only used when you have free real estate to hook your opponents into oblivion. Otherwise you will be falling over with every movement your opponent makes. Watch Freddie Roach's instructions on youtube on the fundamentals of footwork.
Canelo is a good fighter but please let's not give him legendary status yet. There is a long list of elite fighters the he hasn't fought as of yet. Seems like he is deliberately avoiding these fighters.
Canelo says he doesn't fight Mexicans in order to duck Benavides then fights Mungia. Canelo already fought other Mexicans like JC Chavez Jr, Angulo, and many others.
Yeah so then why did Benavides need several extensions to think for 3 weeks if he wanted to fight canelo only to then not activate his mandatory status to force the fight instead staying at 175 to fight and look average for 12 rounds instead of a “monster” like he’s supposedly is against an older Ukrainian boxer who was retired for 4 years plus Benavides isn’t Mexican he’s Ecuadorian
I dont feel like canelo is all that great a combination puncher at least not anymore he rarely has thrown combinations over the last decade he used to do it alot when he was younger but ever since moving up to middle weight he stopped
Bro what are you talking about? What fights have you been watching? yeah canelo hasn’t been a combination puncher his last few fights but over a decade is exaggerating
This is because of the gas tank issue, and frankly a flaw of falling in love with his power. You saw this badly with Bivol and even with rider. He's forgetting and regressing a bit.
