I think she might have been Arnold’s daughter from a slave. This was common during that time period which may be why she is being recognized by the family.
Most slaves did not have a last name. Their horrible masters didn’t let them keep anything of their own, not even their names. Giving Leanne his name was showing ownership, not concern. She deserved better.
It's so sad to this nameless enslaved little girl laid to rest all alone without her family. And that her humanity was so inconsequential to those who enslaved her that the mere fact that her grave was marked is something to note as unusual 😢💔
Daffodils? Some slave owners really cared about their slaves and considered them people, not animals like some slave owners. Its possible she was the owner's child, but usually the wife didn't want anything to do with the children.
Wonder if you two will be doing this recording and sharing on the spiritual side after you two are buried in a cemetery yourselves since you two love doing this so much yourselves. Will you haunt cemetery yourselves once both your own life's are up?
No one has the Right, ever to own someone else! It is Wrong. & I Gotta say, Please don't say "Slave Girl ". Please call her by her name. I know you mean well. Yet no one, ever in any place should be called that. Great Channel though. Keep it up.
Unity Dean is in the 1870 census records with her husbabd J M Dean she died in Aprl 17, 1878. Sorry, I can't help but trying to find out y'all its that genealogy bug that hit me 30 years ago lol
You are right , for Leanna to be given a stone with her identity on it that didn't happen back then. She was either his child or they loved her dearly or both. I don't know such sadness back in those times😢
You should have taken some fresh flowers over to the 9yr old girls grave…she would never have been given flowers in her life bless her. I don’t care for your referring to that man as her master.., that was the was of things then, but sounds awful now. I suggest she was buried with family either because she became Favoured by the family for the way she did things,,,,OR she had been fathered by the head of the family which often happened back then, but how sad poor little girl passed away aged only 9years bless her. ♥️
First, I love your channel. I’m really enjoying all the local history. I’m from Fort Smith. You guys have a great idea for a channel! Second, I’m not criticizing. I just want to help. Please start your video with a short explanation of where you are. I just happened to recognize the name of the cemetery or I wouldn’t have known. You said it later but it would help if you started at the beginning with it. Third, I’m going to keep watching. I can already see improvement in your narration from your earlier videos!!
I felt so bad for you in your one video where your allergies were acting up. I have allergies too, and it’s so annoying and weeds, some flowers etc really aggravate mine. I never used to get allergies, but as I age, I get them more and more.
I went walking through Pine Grove Cemetery in Corry Pa and showed my respects to past living descendants of this town I just moved here from Erie Pa saw a color printed headstone I thought it was a cool design of a deer with background on a funny note a unmarked grave tried to take me under for a visit 😅 careful with your footing 😂
