Wonderful video - I've been to Cave Hill many, many times. I have family buried there. It's a new adventure every time. Thank you for being so respectful.
Those ducks are so spoiled, and they are used to getting bread from visitors to Cave Hill. You might also see several peacocks. I don't know if you stopped by the white house in the middle of the cemetery, but they do have maps. There are some very historic graves there. Cave Hill was designed by Frederick Law Olmstead (sp) who designed New York's Central Park He also designed some of our beautiful city parks. You should definitely visit Zachary Taylor Military cemetery if you come back to Louisville. I think that the circle above Mr. Ali's grave is for an eternal flame. He is the best of what Louisville is. His funeral procession drove all throughout the city. Thousands of people stood on streets and sidewalks waiting for him to pass. I used to see him at University of Louisville football games. He was such a nice man.
This is one of the best ones you have done. Now I haven't seen them all yet still catching up, but from what I have seen of your work this is the best one so far or at least the top 3
Cool video , beautiful Cemetery . Lots of cool statuary and headstones . I love grave hunting and I’m just a Cemetery rabbit myself I as well as a lot of others do our power walking through such peaceful beauty and quiet inside the gates that separate this noisy world . There is also a “ Casper “ Grave in “ Forest Lawn Cemetery “ in the city of Glendale California where I live . I absolutely LOVE the grave of the little girl and “ Jesus “ I’ve seen nothing like this here in Los Angeles California where I live . But you know what ? That beautiful little girl gets to look into the eyes of “ Jesus “ whenever she wants “ For such is the kingdom of heaven “ . It is amazing I agree with you on the beautiful monuments that loved ones will erect in honor and in reverence . That’s so cool ! Patty Smith Hill “ Happy Birthday Song “ and of course “ Cassius Clay “ . Exactly we will soon be there one day . “ Lovit well and in the “Lords “ will . Trust and obey for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus , but to trust and obey “ . “ Jesus “ loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so , little ones to “ Him “ belong they are weak but he is strong , yes Jesus loves meee , yes Jesus loves me , yes Jesus loves meeee the Bible tells me soooo 😊 learned those in Sunday School . 😊 . Just a lil FYI Incase you didn’t know ? Since you all love grave hunting get on line and go to “ Find A Grave .Com “ I think you’ll enjoy the site . I’m a member ( its free ) and what I enjoy most is helping out other members there that are putting their Genealogy together and need people in all parts of the world to help them by taking photos of their loved ones headstone for them that they themselves are not able to get to from a Cemetery in your area . It’s so cool to be able to help out that way . Loved and appreciated this time out with you Gents . Thank you so much for sharing . God Bless and keep you and happy Grave Hunting from one Grave Hunting Cemetery Rabbit to another lol . P.S. loved the ducks lol . Take care now 🙏
Very cool video. Glad I am not the only one that likes to explore cemeteries. That little girl on the swing was so sweet. I have never seen anything like that before.

Such a great video. I've just subscribed to you this evening and have been binge watching your videos since. This seems like a really peaceful, tranquil cemetery. Thank you for showing me around. Sending love and best wishes from Northern Ireland 😊 x
What a Beautiful exploration video John😊...thank you for going out there for this Content. Watching from New Zealand with Love ❤ Shout out to Mrs Patty Smith Hill.
Tammy Brewer I love Louisville KY. As a Muhammad Ali's Fan like to visit his Resting place. This is Probably most Neat and Clean Cemetery In America. P.s Some KFC Served halal Chicken here in London England. Big thanks to colonel Sanders Rest in Peace.
Another wonderful Documentary John. Our Hero Muhammad Ali 1942-2016 was the Great Muslim and Probably the Greatest Boxer of All Time. I'm watching this video from London England. Peace Love and Unity to All Amazing Human being.
Hello Jon I loved the vlog, and I did a bit of digging on the grave of Preston Pope Satterwhite. The site was built after his wife died. He paid 50,000 dollars in 1927 to have it built. I just thought I would let you know, because I was amazed too.
If you didn't see it while you were there, Gov. Matt Beavin's daughter is buried there. Her memorial has Jesus playing with children. It's just beautiful. Also, there is a memorial of a young lady with her arms outstretched that locals put a flower in her hand whenever there isn't one there. It's a lovely memorial. And buried at Cave Hill are Derek Smith, former U of L basketball star and Frank Haddad, an attorney that was quite prominent in Louisville, KY and who was associated with some of the court proceedings involving the Cornbread Mafia.
I spoke with a friend who is a Mason and the 33 means he was a 33 Degree Mason. He said "And it usually is given to a 32nd degree Mason when they pass to the great celestial temple."....he said what they mean on that is: "What we say they advance to when they die."
"In the United States, members of the Scottish Rite can be elected to receive the 33° by the Supreme Council. It is conferred on members who have made major contributions to society or to Masonry in general." The center one is "The Shriner's" a branch of the Masons that is know for Children's hospitals.
What an amazing video what an amazing trip but you took me through a cemetery that I enjoyed the graves were beautiful especially the one of that little girl in the swing that Jesus was holding I cried when I saw that that touched my heart I will never forget that one they were also magnificent but that one touched my soul love some Bonnie I'm Salt Lake City Utah💝
I love how you go to cemeteries. My dad was a cemetery salesman and he sold the plots and everything that went with it. He actually owned a couple of is own at one time. One of the fun things we would do on our vacations would be to find old cemeteries to go to and the history was amazing. My daughter and I was on a 2 week road trip this year and we actually found a couple of them and walked through them. One was in New Orleans. Pretty awesome. You do a fantastic job. Where is your home office?
I think this is one of my favourite cemeteries so far! How beautiful! And Historical, this cemetery it’s monuments,/headstones are so stunningly hand created/crafted. So uncanny I’m re watching this, the birthday song Patty Smith. The German gentleman who designed the confederate flag/uniforms. And of course you cannot forget the ultimate number 1 boxer of all time Mohammed Ali. And who could not forget the Colonel himself Mr. KFC Sanders. I was giggling so much over (maybe I have a bad sense of humour ) the birds (ducks/geese) it was like a blockade.. protest of the roadway.. all I kept thinking was do the birds know Col. Sanders I’d buried near by? Hehe please don’t take it the wrong way, I mean No offence at all. ☺️ I so agree Jon, a lot of these people who lay to rest here, had super elaborate Tombs, monuments In dedication, I can’t even fathom how much the price tag on some of these things would be, including the fact when you buy a plot of land it’s just that a small area for your grave & the stone. For the land space, for the larger plots.. wow! It’s gotta be up there for sure. (Price wise) excellent documentation/video 👍🏻😁☺️ Thank you so much! H.B (Jenna)
32nd Degree Mason is a highest Degree in either the Scottish Rite or York Rite. A 33rd Degree in a honorary degree awarded to 32nd Degree Masons that have made a tremendous accomplishment to humanity and philanthropy. It is given prior to death and the ceremony is a very nice. In a nut shell it is like receiving the Presidental Medal of Freedom but for Masons.
This is your video. Should be allowed to show or discuss what ever you what. Answer to your question as why cemeteries are using only plaque headstones. My mother asked the same question. Why only plaque headstones? The people who own the cemetary told her because it was cheaper & easier to maintain the property. Just mow & go. Easier, cheaper, less time consuming, that is what they told my mother.
sometimes but not all the times people couldn't afford an upright stone so they put a flat one down because they are cheaper. my grandfather was in world war two and his is flat and at my grandmothers feet and my dad is buried next to my grand mother they have an upright one I don't know why my grandpa is buried at her feet he died first.
Ketchup-Jesus some people are numb nuts!! Why not just pray for the person and ask the lord forgive their sins. This is the only thing the dead have to relieve any suffering in their hereafter. That’s it!
The 33 and Triangle is the Illumanati Symbol! Not Good! I would NOT PAY HOMAGE TO HIM! ALI, He was a Good Man. Did allot for His African American Community. The Happy Birthday Woman was an interesting Piece of Trivia!
