It sounds more like Pet Sematary 2. Not a German Shepard but the dog breed kinda looks like one. I'm not sure if Stephen King was involved or not but it's worth a watch. To me it explores different types of Undead in the sequel.
Loved both of your reactions to Pet Sematary. The scalpel scene with the achilles tendon always makes me wince. The 1979 TV movie, Salem's Lot was my introduction to Stephen King as a kid.
Stephen King normally likes to play a cameo in the movies that he creates from his books like Rose Red this movie I think he was in tommyknockers as well but I'm not sure I would have to watch that again
This was a very sad horror film as he just wanted to bring hi son back, but at a terrible cost. There's a remake from 2019 and a prequel to the 2019 remake that was released in October 2023, taking place in 1969.

I kinda said this before. I know it’s a movie and all. Since I was first able to watch this movie. The mom had like no mom instincts. She didn’t do Much to help with getting her child. I don’t even have kids I know I would have ran to help get the child.. just my thoughts on the movie.

And if you think that's impressive, just remember that the same year, Mary Lambert directed the "Like A Prayer" music video for Madonna. Also, Stephen King and his son Joe are "Doctor Who" fans if that gives you motivation to set up a Grave Who Reacts series.
You used to be able to meet people on the tarmac for really small planes. I did it several times. But that was the '80s. And this was made in the '80s so that makes sense.
Depending on the plane and airport you can still do it. I was on a charter flight back around 2009 that let us board and exit onto the tarmac like that at a smallish airport. We went through separate security from the main lines in the concourse.

Yass, there was a sequel to Pet Semetary w/ Clancy Brown! *(I’ve been a fan of that man since I first saw the series Carnivàle-I highly recommend anyone who has not seen that early ‘00s, 2-season show.) TBH, the Gage’s death scene is so hilarious that he has to be the cutest baby to keep you from laughing-Reminds me of a scene from Austin Powers. It’s supposed to be a Maine accent, supposedly theirs is a bit much, but the Maine accent is kinda close to that. I’ve seen the film & read the book, and neither time did I ever think that Herman Munster called the cops to check the cemetery. “It doesn’t regenerate,” she says. Darlin’, might I remind y’all: Magic. I think my sister saw this as a kid, because she always had an irrational fear of someone cutting her ankles (from under the bed, the car, anything,) and so much so that she kind of transferred that fear on to me-Not so much someone doing but anything doing. Apparently, it’s harder to cut then it looks in films. Here’s the thing about Stephen King, the man is a great writer. That’s about it. Though people make fun of his performance in Creepshow, I like it. If you haven’t seen that short def check it out. People who haven’t read The Dark Tower seem to think the film is okay, but everyone who has read it hated it-I’ve read most of that series so I avoided it. BTW, physical media news (old news now,) the Mick Garris/Stephen King adaptation of The Shining is getting a rerelease, (I think Shout Factory.) It looked too scary when ai was a kid so I ended up never seeing it. Doctor Sleep & 1408 might be tied for my favorite Stephen King adaptations. Rose The Hat is by far my favorite Stephen King villain, if not character. Not only is Rebecca Ferguson incredible but the character is so cruel and terrifying. The scene with the “baseball boy” is one of the most brutal and terrifying scenes in Horror-Also, I loved the scene when they find him. Too often in films the horror of finding a body is a bit too sanitized in films. 🙏🏼☺️ Godspeed y’all.
All Stephen King stories are supposed to be part of the same multiverse, tied together by the Dark Tower series. You'll see little nods to other books in his books

Your roommate must have watched Pet Semetary two. Pet Semetary has always been a favorite King story of mine, its so dark and atmospheric. The book is the only book that actually creeped me out while reading it, I was 11 or 12 when I first read it. I haven't watched it in years, as you mentioned that once you reach certain stages in your life a movie can strike you in a different way. As I am a father of three kids, the youngest being three, I just don't want to watch it. I guess I can relate too much. Still, its a great film and a great book.
I'm not going to watch this movie because something did happened at the end of the movie and that really did scared me when I was a kid. I'd only seen a little bit of it anyway.
