This is such a underrated horror remake I always like how all the ghosts look the makeup looks really good still looking back at it I had the DVD see how the actors being turned into ghosts.
This one is a favorite "fun" horror movie for me. It's not quite as fun as its predecessor, House on Haunted Hill, but it's got style. I definitely agree, though, the big regret I have is that the wonderful backstories that they include on the DVD for all of the ghosts aren't in the movie. It makes them somehow more a generic threat than actual characters. I really wish that Dark Castle has continued their initial purpose of remaking old Castle movies, but the next one up was Ghost Ship, which, while entertaining, was nowhere near as fun as the previous two. Thanks for reacting to this one! It's so rare that people do. Another one I'd love to see you two do from the same era is Deep Rising.
Fun fact. The reason they need glasses to see the ghosts is because in the original movie, you needed special glasses (similar to 3d glasses) to see the ghosts on the screen. Otherwise you saw empty rooms. My mom told me about it because she saw it in theaters. By the time they aired it on TV, they got rid of the need for the glasses.
I disagree Matt Lillard needed a redemption arc. Most of the ghosts were extremely violent, he was basically doing a service to humanity locking them away.
@@allisoncastle Jackyl, Prince, railspikey guy, juggernaut, Princess, the kid... The ones that weren't violent were Torso, lil mama and big hugey, and the wife. Maybe 5 weren't violent.
@@Jay_Fry You are stretching the definition of “violent” waayy too far. Also, you’re just making up the fact that they’re evil. They just LOOK scary. Do you know ANY of the backstories?? Also, only 3 of them were violent and real life so that’s who I included in this. They wouldn’t have been violent if they weren’t trapped in that house. The only reason the guy attacked with a bat is because he was angry about being trapped. Same with the princess. They were completely peaceful in life. Same with the kid so yeah, not evil Wtf. You can just admit that you jumped to an assumption. It’s not that big of a deal.
Why was Maggie immediately out of contention when it comes to who Dennis (Matthew Lillard) would “end up with”? I actually think that their energies match the best out of everyone. (Though I am glad that no one “ended up together” at all in the end.)
that's why anyone who sees Poltergeist gets corrected. Static was B+W and an open door policy for it. SMTPE Color bars is fort knox agasint them since the colors are arranged like the building blocks of life.
