Not only will we see Jonas vs Roglic vs Pogacar vs Evenepoel in 2024, not they hit us with this crazy route finishing in a TT. WHAT? This has everything to be the best TDF of the decade
@Cbcw76
@Cbcw76 15 дней назад
My only concern is that a lot of minor wrecks (wheel touches, misguided 'lane' changes) occur early on during the traditional flatter TDF starts. Will downhills and shocking fatigue contribute to more serious wrecks? The Big Names may be fantastic bike handlers (or not, thinking of Jan Ullrich missing turns, running off the road) but there are other riders alongside and in front - how about them? It only takes one error to take out any group. My fear is that we'll lose 3 of the big 4 names in the early days, and leave us with a 1-man race... of course, anyone looking at the Giro's opening day roster knew that was a 1-rider race before the first flag dropped. At this TDF, will be lose Big Names early, late or MAYBE can we have a true 4-rider race with teams and alliances along the way?

@@Cbcw76 Good points, but it's that way pretty much every year. I remember back to the Froome years and some of the early stage drama causing GC issues. The potential for drama (crash, punctures on gravel, etc) is always going to be there. The gravel stage in this year has me worried. I hate to see a GC problem occur due to gravel, but that's bike racing I suppose. I do love how the ending is totally different for once (forced by the Olympics of course). But an ending somewhere other than Paris is refreshing, and love the idea of a ITT at the end, to maybe bring back the spirit of that 1989 Tour. I do think Pogi is the favorite at this point but who knows, maybe Jonas shows up and actually looks good, time will tell. Roglic looks good for a podium, and it's been fun to watch Matteo rise up this year. Remco maybe will show up with better form then he had in the Dauphine. Looking forward to it.

Having ridden a fair bit now in "cold Hawaii" where Jonas is from, I can say the "Strade Bianchi" stage may suit him very well - much of the west coast Danish roads - even to villages, hamlets or individual houses, are on gravel roads.... He will be very accustomed to ridding gravel for sure.

When you review the new cycling kits, I recommend that you pay particular attention to what is on the backs. Most of us viewers see a lot of the racing from the helicopter viewpoint and can recognize the teams from what is on their riders backs. This is particularly good for movie star and last year the India's grenadiers with the black stripe made them easy to pick out

A great review of the stages. There is one cyclist at the top of the Yellow Jersey fight. Tadej Pogacar is the huge favorite. But, there are so many storylines, and no one is ever guaranteed the win. I am looking forward to the very difficult opening stage; the gravel sections in Stage 9; if Cavendish can break the most stage wins record on Stage 10 (his last opportunity); and, the stage 21 final Time Trial. No celebratory last stage. Finally! Fun and thrills assured (fun for the fans, that is).

"Tour de France fam"... is that the tour where roadmen on their stolen, unregistered, uninsured mopeds chase eachother across France? Which edition is it?

Gcn, I'm begging you for some graphics and stats while the guy is talking. I'm too dumb and tired to listen that closely.

Keep gravel and cobbles away from grand tours! What's the point of adding potentially race deciding risks to the race?

Not a good parcours for evenepoel imo

Hate the inclusion of gravel. This is a road race. Not all road cyclists are comfortable or experienced enough with gravel. It could affect the gc and that won’t really tell us who the best Road racer is. Just who has the better luck.

At least it’s not as bad as the cobbles

"It could affect the gc". That's the entire point. And it's not just luck, it takes skill to race on gravel.

Nice video but an 11 minute sumup of 21 stages is not really what I was looking for. I must say that I am a bit dissapointed and had expected a more indepth analysis.
