Vingegarrd( lets face it unlike past years this year visma got hit and unlucky so i see 3rd if not 2nd if roglic does not crash he's not roglic, also wout not in tdf) 4. evenepoel (truth be told he's a dark horse cant really see it a win but who knows)

1. Pogacar - he has had good form this year and a month to get his head right. 2. Roglic - He showed pretty good form at Dauphine, and if he doesn't crash, he's good. 3. Evanepoel - Not quite there on his form, as he stated, but his ITT showed he is not far from it. Still, no one will let him ride away on a long break, until he loses time. And, I do not think he can ride Pogacar or Roglic off his wheel. 4. Vingegaard - his injuries have taken a big toll. If he was anywhere near healthy, we would have seen him racing by now. And, if he is close for the start of the TdF, he has a chance to ride into great form. However, his team is just not there either. Kuss is not on form, WVA is not either, and I cannot see that team risking their whole tour to support Vingegaard. The team will let Jorgenson compete for GC, until Vingegaard proves himself, and that means even less support for Vingegaard.

No one is talking about my chances (probably because I’m a slow non-professional 42 year old) despite my wife claiming that I “should win the Tour de France, the amount I’ve spent on cycling kit”. According to every argument we’ve ever had, she’s always right too. So put your money on me, I say.

Everyone's talking about Jonas form coming into TdF but even if Jonas is 100%.. You all forget about his team ? Half of Visma's riders had a crash, feel bad, don't ride like they used to (Kuss for example) and so and so forth. And he can't win without a team, even if he's at 100%

I don't see how anyone can see his display at Dauphine as a success for Roglic INCLUDING Roglic himself!! If I were him or his team director I would have some concerns!! This is not something to be proud of. This is something you need to be concerned with. He BARELY saved that win!! If that stage was 500 mtrs longer Roglic would have lost that!! That's not the sign of a champ. That's the sign of someone who got REALLY LUCKY and isn't on top form. Roglic is NOTORIOUSLY KNOWN for cracking when it counts the most. This is something I would definitely be concerned with heading into TDF if I were him or the team director!! NOT what you want to see from your GC 3 weeks away from TDF!! 🤘🏻🇬🇧
@markmark2469
@markmark2469 12 дней назад
My opinion: Pogacar is the heavy favorite! Hoping Jonas will be in good enough form to challenge. Roglic is doing pretty good with his new team, but he is going to need another gear and stay upright to beat Pogacar. Remco is probably a year away - still needs to work on his climbing endurance! The crash this Spring set him back.

My guess is that Vingegaard will come in at 95%, and ride very passively for the first 2 weeks letting Pogi guess who he needs to keep an eye on. It would be great for JV to have Roglic and other teams hunt for yellow had force Poacar to defend. Jonas will not do anything but stay on the wheel for the first 1½ weeks. and then see if his recovery gives him benefits

It is a gift to Jonas that all the hardest stages are in the last week with a hard time trial. If he is within 2-3 minutes going into stage 14 and back on 100% form then he has a good chance, but no doubt Pogi is the favorite, and that if Jonas wins it is going to hurt Pogi's standings

Jonas is incredibly focused and tough. If anyone can train himself back in time - its him. If he can't compete to win - he is not going to TDF. Why should he? Better wait and take Vuelta and feel good about the season going into 2025. He may start TDF less than 100%. But latest by day 10 - he will have reached 100%. Pogi knows and tactics will reflect this - they will do everything to put stage seconds, bonus seconds and time seconds into Jonas the first 1½ weeks to build an impossible gap. Interestingly, not having Roglic on Vingegaard's team is going to help Vingegaard, because Roglic will fight to keep Pogi within reach and Pogi cannot just ignore him allowing Vingegaard to follow best he can at first. If he races, Jonas ends #1 or #2.

I agree. With this form, I only see Primoz fighting for podium. Considering that if Pogacar or Jonas in the race, they would have blown everyone's door. Just like Froome used to do. One of these days everyone who loves Roglic will die heart attack.. LOL. 🤣🤣 Considering how close call he always put himself in. Kidding aside, his trend of getting weaker at the last stage or the third week is continued. This could be his expose weakness.Maybe that's why we saw, he wasn't race as aggressive as before, coming with all guns blazing. I would love Primoz to win, but I think Tadej, with how he shown at the Giro, he is hard to beat. Unless Jonas, miraculously comes back to his form last year.

I really hope Jonas is back to near his best for the tour, and if he is I don't see him losing. He is simply too strong and consistent in the mountains. Also, I think he will only get better as the tour goes on and may be in fine form going in to the final week. That being said, you can't argue with Pogacar's form compared to the turbulent seasons of the other 3. I think peak Roglic can hang with Vingegaard (as shown aty the Vuelta last year) and Pogacar, but he doesn't look to be at his absolute best. And Remco is unfortunately not really a contender in my mind, I could even see him finishing behind the likes of Jorgenson and Rodriguez. Overall I'm going Pogi, Jonas, Rogla, Remco.

I think with all of the crashes this year, the GC race (for the top spot at least), will be over before the third week, with Pogacar in a commanding lead. Thus, the rest of the placement will be largerly determined by the shenanigans between the teams/riders fighting for lesser spots. This makes it less predictable and highly dependent on the luck. I don't believe Jonas will be in a good form, so I'm going for 1. Pogacar 2. Roglic 3. Remco 4. Jonas With riders in between them and (going on a limb here) with Roglic also being off the podium.

It will be a shame for Pogi when he wins cos everyone will say Jonas wasn't 100% The thing with Roglic is that he is notoriously known for cracking when it counts the most. His display on stage 8 of the Dauphine is something he himself and his team director should have concerns with. He BARELY held onto that final stage. @@dannyjensen2123 I've followed Visma Since Sepp Kuss joined the team. So, I have an idea how strong and great this team has been since Roglic started leading them. Sepp has been instrumental to not only Primoz but also Jonas. Last year's TDF team was by far the strongest team I've ever seen Visma put out and arguable one of the best teams ever. UAE also had a strong team but not as strong as Visma and that to me was the difference. The way Visma could attack Pogi until they were ready to launch Jonas was spectacular to watch and had to be hell for Tadej as his team couldn't help him during those attacks. Tadej finally faded from all the matches he had to burn to cover the attacks and that's when Jonas took over in my opinion. This year UAE brings a stronger team and Visma is in disarray and even if Jonas is at 100% which i strongly doubt he will be, Visma will not have the firepower to support Jonas like they did last year. They lost two of their riders at the Dauphine and Wout Van Eart is also recovering albeit a little faster than Jonas, but he also has the burden of having personal goals in the TDF and it will further weaken Jonas' defense. Tadej is focused, UAE's one hiccup is the loss of Rafal Majka for the TDF. I hope you're right and Jonas is at 100% because it will be a spectacular tour this year and I look forward to it. FYI, I've been a fan of Visma since Sepp joined the team, so I do root for them and was excited to see them win all three tours last year.

How did SD Worx mess that up? At best, they were trying too hard to spread the spoils of their strength across the team. I won't ding them too hard for that. Or arrogance, overconfidence, whatever. Normally they can back it up, but sometimes it is just too much even for them to handle. AvB needs to have a serious talk to the team, if only about the early celebrations, but also an attitude adjustment, not necessarily to individuals, but as a team. Or just keep going like this, winning more than everyone else, but also making fools of themselves more often than others.

I can't see Vingegaard being ready to ride the Tour de France. His injuries are remarkably similar to those suffered by Julian Alaphilippe in Liege-Bastogne-Liege in 2022 - two fractured ribs, collapsed lung and cracked shoulder blade in his case. And we all know how long it took Alaphilippe to be back to something approaching his best. When he was being pressed about the situation during the Dauphine, Grischa Niermann didn't sound very optimistic about Vingegaard's chances of riding. If he does ride, though, it would be a surprise if he can compete with Pogacar.
