When he came to the white house while my dad was in the secret service, my dad got to meet him. He said of all the dignitaries, politicians, royalty and celebrities he met during his time in the secret service, Martin Luther King was the only who he was in awe of.

Ive been to all 3 sites and even though I wasnt born when he was murdered it touches me. If we ONLY just learn to get along love God love yourself it wouldn't be as bad as it is now. But I CANNOT help but wonder what Dr. King would say if he were here today. ❤❤❤

Good Morning Steve 🙋🏽. Everytime I see this I'm overwhelmed and fascinated by the placement of THEIR crypts. It's really beautiful and I think it was well thought out. TO preserve the integrity of their final resting place for future children coming up to have a place of peace and solitude to visit is very touching and heartfelt. Thank you Steve for showing his birth place. I believe it is the first time I've seen this. Steve have a awesome amazing beautiful day today ‼️ and be safe and careful out there 👍🏽❤️ and please say hi to Jim for me 👍🏽.

Thx Steve as always for sharing your wonderful trips around the country to famous gravesites! I didn't realize MLK is buried near where he grew up in Atlanta & famous Ebenezer Church. It is a unique & beautiful site where the crypts are in middle of water. My daughter is 39 & same age MLK was shot & killed, too young 😢 I was a freshman in H. S. & a few months after MLK died Bobby Kennedy was shot & killed 😢 Always look forward to your visits to famous gravesites!

Wow, you did a beautiful job with this video Steve. MLK was such an amazing, strong, intelligent, proud & loving man. It's such a simple concept really, je wanted justice for all & for all people to be treated as decent human beings like we all deserve. His words & deeds still ring out today. I don't personally remember him when he was still alive and he was tragically assassinated on my 2nd birthday April 4, 1968. That makes it 54 years & I wish I could say we've all grown tired of the hate and embraced his dream but there is so much farther to go but it's not impossible. I've never seen where he and his wife are buried so I want to thank you for doing it. The beauty of the waterfalls and the words moved me to tears. The reflecting pool and their burial spot is so peaceful and beautiful set in an incredible blue of the pool. May they forever rest in peace and light and may their dream become reality.

I was 12 years old when Martin Luther King was assassinated. For some reason I was thinking about him the other day after watching a newscast and I remember years ago how segregated it was. Being Hispanic, was almost as bad as being black. In my home state there were signs in the windows that read “No Negros or Mexicans allowed”, on quite a few establishments. It took until the early 1970’s before the signs came down. One of the stipulations for the University in our town to become international was that all establishments MUST become All Inclusive. Little by little, I see signs of bigotry coming back, not like it was long ago, but all races are not as kind to each other as they used to be. I blame the school system for a lot of this. Schools don’t teach American History anymore. The American people have lost sight of the people that made equality happen. Our children don’t know who John F.Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Bobby Kennedy and the the other Great Americans who made History happen. We need to go back to our “Freedom” roots. Thank You Steve for this Wonderful and Beautiful video. Blessings to You and Jim.

This was so amazing to watch. Dr. King was such an influential man, he wanted the people to be equal. He wanted everyone to join together. He had a dream. It sucks that racism is still alive and kicking, but I feel Dr. King's dream has already come true at heart. Rest easy, Dr. and Mrs. King. ♥️😔

I never warmed up to the fountain grave but you are right, it does keep vandals away. You have to remember there are still people out there who would be glad to desecrate it. Some other graves that are popular in that area are Margaret Mitchell, golfer Bobby Jones and, kinda on the morbid side, Jon Benet Ramsay. Who's grave was vandalized earlier this year. Anyway I grew up about 50 miles north of Atlanta in Gainesville, Ga. My parents are buried in the same cemetery, Alta Vista as General James Longstreet and several Georgia governors.
