“Gang warfare” isn’t what typically comes to mind when people think of Santa Monica, California. Today I’ll be taking you to the historically Black & Latino Pico Neighborhood.
So many people don’t know Santa Monica got a hood finally someone puttin these foos on. But you should look into the 4 corners of West LA. Culver City Santa Monic Sotol and Venice shits hectic I’d love to see a video on em.
You should do a hood war story about Venice 13 vs Venice Shoreline Crips war, that war was insane. I was going to Venice skill center at that time, we hard an armed security guard and couldn’t come out of the school, only when the school bus came to pick us up to take us could we come out.
I wouldn't even say most of, there's thousands of guys you don't hear about who don't want their names out. Don't watch a video on a couple of guys who ratted and generalize, you not active@@mateocalderon6822
It’s crazy how we all use to play sports and be the best of friends in elementary and middle school but somewhere around 10th-11th grade all that shit changes. They got us all fucked up!!! Gotta cut this unnecessary foolishness out! One love!
It’s interesting on this side of town because Santa Monica & Venice are on the WestSide of Los Angeles but they’re not considered West LA , Crips & Sureno13 have been at it for years in the Far West section and this is most definitely educational for those that don’t know Santa Monica has gangs and it’s actually not apart of the City Limits of Los Angeles 💯💯 Great episode 👍
@@tjmorrs982 wtf hell Na Venice will never be west la and graveyard is Santa Monica real west la gangs is Marvin and the playboy still a few Mansfield’s and by yourself gc know your facts and history
My grandparents lived by Santa Monica College, two doors down were SM13 members deep as hell. Every time my family came to visit they treated us like family, always protected my grandparents, helped them out when they needed something, they were cool with us. Even when I came alone, I never got pressed, I was treated like an old friend. When my grandfather passed, they all came over payed their respects and told my dad they would protect my grandmother. So now that both grandparents are gone, and I’m a retired Southern California Deputy Sheriff, I know they have done some bad things, but I have to say I have respect for the OG’s who watched over my family and respect gets respect.
We moved to Santa Monica in 2005 and considered buying a house at 17th and Michigan - right in the heart of SM13. They live in the apts directly next door, across the street and down the street. It’s basically a 1 block street sandwiched between the graveyard to the south and 10 fwy to the north. We’re Black, and had no idea. Could’ve been … interesting. 😅
You should have showed images or videos of Proper Dos rap group, they from Santa Monica 13. You can see the Santa Monica Cholos in there music videos. They look deep AF. Times change though even in Compton we knew Santa Monica was cracking in the 80s and early 90s.
One time I was working as a security guard in this hood and some black foo came up to me all tweaked out talking about he hates all Mexicans 😂 some parts of LA it gets like this fs
It's Santa Monica!! The opportunity is right there. You don't need a college degree to get into real estate and start buying and selling some of that expensive property. These dudes rather throw they life away for a small parcel of neighborhood that they don't even own. Shameful
Man this channel was the best, better then swamp storiez, why doesn’t dude make anymore videos, ran out of content ideas? Should still make content, was a good channel
Crazy, I remember a lot of those shooting between Culver City and Santa Monica. Truth be told, Culver City Boys was smashing Santa Monica. They were so tough on them Santa Monica asked to chill on that beef.
I'm from SM and we never asked no one to chill. SM and CxC are married into families and we use to be cool, we knew eachother well until 1998 or 1999 we started beefing because of certain girls, but no one ever asked to chill. Both hoods put in work.
I’m from sm I’ve always thought once I made money I’m moving out but now I’m trying to become a lawyer and stay in my home town I’m cool with any where except any where near Montana or anyone that area
@@SalviLok213 Gardena 13 shot gun Crip pay bacc all share the same hood without beefing... don't grape street and Watts varrio grape share the Jordan downs project
wait, so there gangs very close to the tourist areas? why does the city or police allowed this, wont they lose money from lack of tourism and housing prices going down, hotels losing customers etc etc?
ShoLine started the Graves and I only met 1 Graveyard in the county jail in my life born and raised on the west side of LA they DO NOT HAVE NO HOOD ANYMORE this is super out dated due to gentrification of the entire area.
Nope at all pico might've had its issues especially if you were an outsider but the tick for tack was not continuous like on the venice Culver side that's why when they were shooting up the police didn't really bother investigating both gangs like that. It wasn't till the community pressure them to do something when they killed that older black man
@@ChicoLiftss They're more active than you Keyboard warrior Chapetes talking on politics from different cities, you should focus on your yard and Northern Riderz foes making RU-vid channels and giving Xorteno info out
Juan Martin Campos was shot INSIDE the liquor store on 20th St and the person shot on 17th and Michigan St was not named "Javier" but his name was Jaime and it was in between Delaware and Michigan St on 17th St. I know because I was there... I missed the gunmen who were posted up hiding behind two palm trees. I was the first one to walk out and see him shot up. Good thing he survived by the grace of God...
@@IreneCampos-tk2vd lol, still coping because despite the short mexicans having a huge number advantage, they still couldn't win no wars.... lmao. Tell that story of the liquor story fantasy to your dead homies that got smoked thinking they would win a war because of their huge number advantage.... lmao
Graveyards gentrified they no where near that Liqour store or on 19th or 20th my fav air bnb spots down the street from the wings too in they hood it’s white people walking dogs
That’s WLA In a nutshell 😂 don’t forget about the Palms area… they had another “gc3x” called blasting fools 😂 (you can’t make this stuff up) when you go over there you can’t even see a person under 25 of color 😆
when the bustamantes reign came to an end, surprisingly sm13 became the power on the westside. I know west la is a nice area now with rich hipsters but in the 80s and 90s it was a completely different place. as was most of LA.
@@pdub644 I'm not from the westside but I was well aware of the powers that be over there. I always thought grandpa was the one and jr was the fuck up son but jr was very much official, his father was an interesting figure to me and kind of a mystery. Not sure the politics of the downfall but I guess it's over so its no secret. It always tripped me out how they became so powerful, maybe they were on the streets for a long time and were able to do their stuff I dunno.
Not no more but b4 it used to be active 💯 But that shit watered down now ya can walk thru with no issue 🤷🏽♂️ Culver City too but the CC stairs different lol ya might run into ya enemies there
Stop lying. The only body that was dropped was some mental guy with a metal plate in his head from that neighborhood who was talking about them. After that ONE murder Santa Monica police ended the graveyards and smacks. Like I said graveyards and smacks is like the orphans in the Warriors. 😭😭😭🤦
Graveyard crips doing Steph curry numbers when it come to the body count they literally shot Santana Monica 13 out the gym they even smoked the lieutenant it's game over graveyard crips won this one
@@officialsoufsideslim2352 they focused on the crips on this one even the thumbnail is only the crips! he didn’t even mention the riot between us and the crips at the high school ,
The first 4 bodies that dropped in this video graveyard crips up 3-1 & it wasn't even halftime yet they out shot sm13 every quarter & caught another double/triple homicide/shooting in the end. If this was the warriors(ggc) vs the grizzlies(sm13) graveyard crips looking like the Golden State warriors
What the hell you know what we run in prison? It's none of your business, but look at your name?? You're not even "RAZA" so what the hell would you know?? Where did you do time at??
I know that’s the definition on the earnt title but in my eyes if you are forced to to kiss and make up with rivals and go against NF and bulldogs you are a sureno!
@@richlopez5896 they've already tried in park windsor, ladera heights, inglewood, adams district etc 😅..... black people were already moving out statistically since 1990 but many of those who remain are here to stay.
Thirteenth letter of the alphabet M for eMe mexican mafia all Surenos are 13 northern mexican gangsters are 14th letter of the alphabet for N nuestra familia so its SUR 13 vs NORTE 14
You could've left this one in the crates. Graveyard and Smacks would be like the orphans in that movie the warriors. They so weak they wouldn't get an invitation. 😭😭😭😭
A veterano (I can’t remember where he was from) told me, when I was much younger that SM was a click of WS18ST, but because SM was mostly on 17ST, with time they started hitting the walls with SM17ST instead of 18ST and that started beef between 18ST and SM, in which SM split from 18ST and became they’re on barrio. I don’t know if it’s true, that is what I was told. ✌🏼🇺🇸
that doesn't sound right, sm13 is older then 18st. there is a click of 18 over there that does have issues with sm13 tho, I think its rancho park but I could be wrong. 18st is always trying to claim that they started a lot of the newer gangs on the ws lol.
Wrong! Just cause a person is a veterano, doesn't mean he knows what time it is. Santa Monica is an old gang, one of the oldest in West Los Angeles, 17th St is a click from the SM Gang, There's an 18th St in SM, but you won't see no one from SM claiming 18th St. to us, it's just another another street in the hood. 17th St Locos started in the mid 1970's so did SM11th St Chavos, two clicks, same gang. Before number streets were used as the name for a click, SM was called The SM Cobras and before that, it was called The SM Tomatoe Patch Gang, that was a long time ago. Don't speak on somethong you have no knowledge on.
@@mateocalderon6822 back in the late 1970's and all of 1980's SM17ST and 18ST use to get along real firme, especially with 18St Rancho Park and 18St Malditos, I really don't know what happened but they've always been firme barrios,
@@silent17ish very true my family are OGs from COBRAS still have the original sweater they would wear. And just like you said people need to stop talking and speaking on stuff they don’t know anything about.
