If there is anybody trying to mimic the first 8 minutes of the video and is failing, you need to do something called energy storing. It is when you hold down the gathering button even after you completed gathering lets say a bush of twigs and walk around to the next target. It will save how much energy you didn't use in the previous gathering and apply it to the next one. Why is this important? Well gathering the twigs in the graveyard requires 4 motions BUT if you energy store you can get it done in 3 which is HUGE because you're saving valuable seconds. The other tips you'll figure it out when you attempt a few times.
@@ruffusgoodman4137yeah thats my problem rn i cant get enough faith to study things for blue points and everything i need to progress is locked in the tech tree.
Just want to say, as I've only started the video, that I always love some commentary. Don't be afraid to give your thoughts and goals as you play, even if you have to add it post production I would love to hear it.
While normally I hate live commentary during long repetative stuff like this due to the fact that it mostly devolves into side chats with people who have nothing to do with current gameplay and I don't like listening to someone's podcast in my speedrun....... This comment perfectly sums up what would make for enjoyable commentary
@@dreamerofthorns Yea that makes a lot sense. I guess I would just hope for an occasional, I'm farming mats to get this or now we need to work towards this, or my goal for this day is to have enough of x.
@@BalancarTriergar Dude, i just got to the part where you open the church on day 1. Mind = blown. I mean, i know how you did it, after the fact, but i would never dream of pulling this off myself.
tiny starter tip for casual players : you dont need to exhume the "bottom right" corpse like yorrick ask , you can throw a random dead into the river and keep the exhumation permission for you if you want.
Must say that first day was kinda impressive. I always open the church after 1 week, did not think it was possible to do it on the first day. I do usually have my furnish starting to melting stuff by day 2 though, and a full set of iron tools by the end of day 4. Farming is also started, the astrologer got his scull and all weekly NPCs is talked to. You can do that without selling your tools. You just borrow that 5s from the merchant to get you going. Opening on day 1 gives you 3 faith, but you have not much to use it on yet, so I don't see it a huge loss long term. I see you got managed to get it up to 27 that first week, wich is also kinda impressive though.
ok so.I just found out that you can do fishing BEFORE time starts.so I took your starting method and made it little bit more complicated, but less time dependent.starts same like you but at blacksmith sell all your tools, buy teleport and go to lighthouse, buy fishing rod.dont over do fishing.if you do too much fishing you will not have enough energy at the end.sell fish and fishing rod.teleport back to dead horse,go and buy 3 repair kits,5 peat and 9 stone.teleport home and go speak to bishop,START TIME.teleport to dead horse.go down.on the way pick red flower near berry bushes.keep going down.there are 3 red flowers on the right,go to blacksmith.kill slime.sell sword and buy back shovel and pickaxe.teleport back to dead horse.now break stone in front of tavern and go to beekeeper.3 more flowers left of beekeeper and 3 more in segment above.teleport home,go to graveyard......
Fishing take way too much time for a speed run... It take more than 2min to have enough fish to make a profit from buying the rod. If you do not care about time, you can buy some food from the tavern and fish until the lighthouse keeper has no more money to buy fish.
@@BalancarTriergar yeah I understand.my comment is more for everybody else, then for you.Half of comments under your video is about how people are unable to open church in one day like you did.with my method.everybody can.
@@janhoudek4678 There's still an easier way without fishing. Sell axe and hammer, buy the 3 repair kit + 5 peat After time start, sell sword and gather flower on your way to Cory and buy the 10 stone. It is faster in term of walk time, with up to 12 extra seconds, which would be enough for anyone to use it.
I will critique that while you were waiting for Clotho for the first time, I would have used the teleport stone, gone back to drop off the first log and then walked back. You had the time and would have gotten both logs. Clotho wouldn't have emerged until you came back anyway. 1:12:25 His first tree.. Just so proud of 'em. ;_;
There are definitely time I could have gain. There are probably 20+ cases where I could have gained a few seconds here and there. This one is also more difficult to know on the spot as the NPC schedule get messed up. It's a 7+ hours speedrun, I would be interested to see someone grind all the attempts needed to have a perfect run :)
It seems that updates have made the strategy for the Day 0 impossible. Digging up thickets requires 4 digs instead of 3. I found out that a solution is to queue up your repairs on the graves before time starts. That way you won't lose time in the day later. You can also do the letter quest with the blacksmith and queue up the sword repair early.
No updates were done on the game since this speed run, but there's something with continuous action that reduce the number of swing. You need to hold the button for it to work. There's also a good 10sec margin anyway, but time spent inside npc dialogue and trade money does count. If you want to do this with more time, I have a more recent video that use a glitch to allow an infinite time with action before "time start" (which obv disqualify it for a glitch less speed run)
With this quality of run I guess every little step is carefully planned, but the one I can't wrap my head around is the save/reload that happens periodically. They don't seem (?) to have any ingame effect so what's happening ? Are they to skip cutscenes ? Split the run into segments ?
The game has some sync issues. Basically there's 2 clock in the game. The one displayed on the top right and a hidden one. During cutscene the hidden one is still running, but not the visible one. This is clearly visible if you look at the timer of furnace before/after cutscene as they are running while the clock is stopped. So the more cutscene you watch, the more out of sync the 2 clocks become. Once they start to be too much out sync, daily npc will stop showing up. So it's a necessary time waste to prevent the game from not working properly.
I think I started this percent run back in one of my play lists. But my thing isn't fast human time, it's fast in days time. i got 90 days I think or near 80 days. I wanted to shave off even more time but it's very difficult.
1:59:20 - Oh my god, that RNG got me burned like your corpses. I know it's 2/3 but still... EDIT: Not even 2/3, more like a little above 50%. And man... you tried way too many times there until the game conceded
If you are not in a hurry to do everything as fast as possible in terms of real world time, (but worry about game days) you can do it in a bit more relaxed way: Before talking to the bisshop and starting the game timecycle, you can do all this: -Sell 2 tools to grizwold and buy teleport stone as done in video. -Take the grizworld quest, and place the broken sword on the wetstone. -Buy 3 wood repair kits and 5 peat. -Select gravestones to repair so you'll just have to hold F later. -practice your route for gathering 10 flowers, ending at the mason. (can be a different one now that you don't need to buy peat and repair kits anymore) This way you have fewer actions to do after the time stars running. Optionally, you can also do other stuff which doesn't help you with getting the church on day 0, but you can help you a little in the later days. -Vist your garden, talk about your garden, claim your garden, place empty beds. -Walk to the lighthouse so it gets into your teleport stone. -Talk to every NPC's to gather quests I have yet to try and see what triggers Gerry showing up at the berry bushes. Is it talking to the bisshop + having been in town at all? Or is it completing the blacksmith quest ?. If he does so before completing the blacksmith quest, another option might be to do that and gather stones + berries in the aviary instead of buying the stones. 3 uncertainties though: -Is there enough time ? -is there enough energy from the berries (2 bushes @ gerry, + 5 bushses @aviary) -Is it possible to talk to him in the first place ? If this is possible, i think it would be helpful as it leaves you more money for the rest of the week. Don't feel like trying now, but if anyone did, please let us all know how it went :)
@@arjensmit6684 If you are feeling lucky, instead of buying teleport stone, buy a fishing rod. When there is no passage of time, it can pay for itself in a few ells, I remember one lucky start when I managed to get like, ~30 fishes (ell / anchovy) on the rest of energy bar. Even if you count bonus wheat/ carrots it can pay for itself. Of course, that only if you are lucky with bites. normaly I get under 20, and most are small, so it's a gamble. Bonus money can then be used to buy peat before time starts (I don't think it's enough for stones, too).
The game is awesome but I never played it, so most of the playthrough have been a little confusing to me. I would have really appreciate a commentary. If you don't like to speak for 7 hours (and I understanda that), you can think about caption the most important parts of the run.
Essentially its planning out what resources you'll need for certain buildings or events - especially if its away from home base. If you can rush an entire questline in one go because you prepared you won't have to wait a full week to continue, as an example.
Speed fertilizer reduce the time until they are ready - 60% with gold level. Quality fertilizer increase the amount of seeds, products and crops waste by +3 with gold level.
Which one? I only enable DLC that gain me time. The only one I wish I could turn off is the zombie one. The rest I use for something. GoC to open the rock for free and to not make jewel myself BSS to gain 1 gold early and buy things SS I use a lot to make money and to have obsidian+Golden apple
This is not a glitch, you can always sleep to save even with full energy (or wake up immediately). The game doesn't let you sleep if you just saved, but as long as the save was some time ago you can sleep with full energy.
Are you playing on console or an older version? The cooldown of the teleport stone was reduced in an update, but the different platform may not be on the same version.
I have all current DLC active for this speedrun (Breaking Dead, Stranger Sins, Game of Crones and Better Save Soul). The tavern is part of the Stranger Sins DLC.
Are you on PC? If not, this is why. The house can be decorated since the update that came with Better Save Soul. As it's only out on PC for now, you may not have it.
Which platform are you playing on? Teleport cooldonw was 1min30, but it got reduced to 30sec in an update. Some platform are still on older version, this may be why.
@@BalancarTriergar I just knew it in PC if it is in pc version has no teleport stone but if u have updated version of g.keeper in nintendo version, yes it has tele stone in the beginning, I understand it now
I see a lot of mods where used in this and you cut out a lot of the and edited in a clock that does not match or account for travel time. I’ve restarted many time and i do not see how only took 4 mins and 20 sec to do that all. As well as have a graveyard between 5 and 10 that soon. Considering the stone fences and heads stones alone take over a min to make just one of each. That’s not included the time it takes to mine stone and get the research together to pull that off. I call bs on your 4mins and graveyard between 5 and 10 with almost no red skulls
I have no mods installed... There's also no edit made. I have a video where I explained what I do in the early game to have an efficient start. There are a few differences as I improved some things between the video and the speed run, but most of it is the same. I buy the teleport stone to teleport back home. I don't make any new decoration to get the graveyard to 5. I repair most of the graves with the repair kit the game provide (and buy some more wood repair kit). I also make some flower beds (with stone and peat I buy). The only things I collect before opening the church are the flowers. I could remake the 1st part of those videos with the changes if this help you :)
@@SolSteal The timing for opening the church on the 1st day is really tight. There's maybe 3-8sec more than what you can see here before the bishop leave. Even to me I still don't need 2-3 restart to get it (and I've done it hundreds of times). The time spent in dialogue and inside the trading menu does count, so you need to be quick in those menus as well.
you dont need mods to unlock the church that day i followed the other video where he doesnt sell the hammer and did it just have to be spot on with everything i used my pad to make it easier since my mouse doesnt like to move sometimes what gets me is the timings between his days day 1-2 10 mins 56 seconds day 2-3 9 mins 26 seconds etc google says day lengths are 7 mins 30 seconds these days are inconsistent in length and according to google it doesnt pause while in menus/cutscenes *EDIT* i downloaded the speed timer and did my own run i dont hit 8 mins 20 for opening the church more around 9 mins i didnt start recording it like a tool tho i will redo it later and show it can be done just need to be on point ill drop the link to it as its own comment
