On different planets with totally different environment, same gases or liquids could be result of another non-biological event. No, unfortunately. 124 Light years is a long distance but the visual delay is only 124 years (the time it took the light to travel to us). So no, we are seeing it practically as it is. BTW, your eyes also see only the past, albeit a very very recent past. ;)

We might not be to far off from technology that will get us there. It will take a combo of technologys. First will be the ability with neurolink to upload your entire self to a hard drive. Then we need a technology that can print a new human body and upload yourself to the new body at the final destination. So you could send a spaceship with mostly self repairing hard drives with just data and a machine to print humans and customize them to explore the new planet. If the journey takes 3 million years so what your stuck on a hard drive.
