US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti has claimed the US had allowed India to buy Russian oil. He said that they allowed the purchase to take place to ensure the prices did not go up globally. His statement has triggered a series of question marks. Molly Gambhir tells you more.

They been begging Bharat multiple times not to buy Russian oil. Bharat wiped that request under their foot, especially because Europe keeps buying from Russia too. And because Russia is no enemy of Bharat. U.S. sees Bharat as a major counter-force/ partner against China in the region. NATO (U.S. led) even pro-actively extended NATO membership to Bharat, something that most countries have to beg for. Bharat refused. I hope this provides some perspectives on why the U.S. has nothing on Bharat.
