Authorities in DR Congo say at least three American citizens were involved in a coup attempt that DR Congo's defence forces thwarted on Sunday. The armed men had attacked the Presidential Palace. The plan was also to attack the homes of top politicians. Gravitas brings you the full story.

Being an American I’m guessing the reason is MONEY! Isn’t the reason my government does anything MONEY? I’m 66 yeas old and I’ve seen my awful government do these types of things many, many times. In the end you discover that some very wealthy, greedy campaign donors have financial interests in some part of the world and tell my government officials to go get the money for them.

One of the Americans was a Congolese American. His father was Congolese and his mother American. His father was already in the Congo stirring things up. So his son, grew up in the US, but had ties to the Congo - it wasn’t just a random American who was part of the coup.
