Dang it. I was hoping for a full on demo, but you did show that you had good flow. Good job Adam. I got to thinking that if you put a ball valve on the suction end you could turn off the flow so you could make a move without losing your prime. Just a thought. 🇺🇲🗽😎⛏️👍
Well lol i wasnt going to put my phone underwater lol. Need more parts & wetsuit and camera & warmer water . It works was the point and now a 4" will be added and 2 will be going now that I know what I need. As for the ball valves and slide valve I explained in the previous comments that it will 100% jam at the valve they do not make a even diameter valve all of them decrease in size. And slide valves have grooves where the slide sits so when you open it and use it all the material will catch in the grooves. I watched every video on RU-vid of grav set ups and read all types of articles over the years. Most the videos it was a struggle to prime the line. I only had a 5 min hang up only due to me not having a good line to use for a suction end. If I had a pool hose even and another clamp I would have gotten it started rite away. The water gate was the best option given by Old-timers from the motherlode . It seems to work pretty well and it's less moving parts which we all know are keys to issues! And and issue out in the mountains should be avoided if possible rite !
Thanks, guys !! I've been wanting to Dredge without all the noise for a long time, especially since California outlawed everything I need to do. A bad back & bad hips makes it difficult to mine at all... I heard of this before but you are the first I've actually seen it work. So Thank you !!
I wonder if it would work if you were to add a Y pipe at the suction end with one side going to a flex hose/nozzle and the other side going to the intake? If you added a valve to the nozzle, maybe you could move around more and not have to worry about losing prime if you come out of the water?
To many moving parts that's not really needed , pipe and hose is much easier and it works. I don't see any reason to change it ......... lol not to mention it's taken me 10 years to actually go do it lol 😆 I'm sticking with what I have!
Yeah that is interesting like putting a traditional dredge jet on that end so your flow is never interrupted by rock jams or even pulling the nozzle out of the water for an second. Would give constant flow. Very cool man way to keep at it. Looking forward to seeing it in action.
@@twodudesonedredge to many moving parts and regardless of the Y if air or a rock does get in it will lose pressure. "I'm only half set up lol it's going to work really well"
Lol I hope 😅🙏 I can make the actual gold getting one with it better !! I'm excited about this man ! Holy cow did it suck and it was only half set up ...... so upgrading to a 4" too and both boxes are going to be over under 3 stage dredge boxes.
Good morning too my friend 👍👍amazing.. very good work mate.. great..i like your content.. success always..! greetings from your best friend Indonesian traditional gold seeker ❤️🇺🇸🇲🇨⚒️⛏️👏👏✋👍👍
I got an underwater camera, so next trip I'll bring my wetsuit and the rest of the lines etc ...... and a bigger version of this lol 😆 and be making plenty of content
Looks like you have a lot of flow down the middle of the box. Maybe put a damper at the top of the box to push the water down and spread it out across the width of the box sweet idea though
Good job , I've done this a few times, it takes practice and bailing wire, gorilla tape and more clamps. This same theory can be used for a highbanker as well, legally in California.
Maaaaaan the gold in the area is insane , to be honest the gold totals could be just as good or better than California only because the trip and hikes are virtually opposite so I can spend more time and the gram per yard is very good and big gold has definitely come off the bottom...... when we actually hit it
@@skippythetownie3123 meeting up with Joe the 15th ... if you can swing through. If not I should be getting out every weekend this summer. Also in July I will be hosting a placer party 8th to 10th
Good work man,I see me trying that out over the summer!! Got a spot that mayhem and myself been too that I believe that rig work awsome!! Thanks for sharing!!🇺🇲👊
Me too! Lol I just always cop out to just go find gold .... sometimes we just need to do these things to get it either out of our head or further our mining tools. This literally will change alot of things for me in the future all over the country.
Lol 😆 we definitely will , the gold that gets barely scratched off the bedrock with a shovel is phenomenal and production is always limited not by the person . So with the system beat then more gold to treat ✨👌 now that I have actually put the effort into seeing if it will work the only place left to go is DOWN...... lol to bedrock.
Great job using the solid pieces of straight pipe! I think that's where most people run into issues, from using a long coil of pipe that never really straightens out. You're gonna *clean up* with that for sure! ;-P
That is totally awesome! Funny, just the other day i was talking to a friend of mine about this very thing. Amazing. Figure out a way to baffle and spread out the water on the sluice and you got it. I simply love the simplicity of it.
Kick ass idea Adam. Narrower box maybe. Looked like you have a lot of flow down the middle of box. What if you put a damper at the top of the box to push the water down to spread the water out across the width of the box?
Isn't gravity grand? As long as your joints are airtight you will get full suction through your straight pipe just by having the intake end higher than the discharge end. No need for any type of mechanism to close off the flow on the discharge end of the pipe. An airtight quick connect system between the front end hose and the straight pipe is quite useful. From the coming attractions it looks like it will be a great summer for you. So prime up your pipe and clean up that bedrock. Clean bedrock is beautiful bedrock
Good talking with you Tim ! Great information 👍 I'm going to give it a try with out it. The only reason I didn't is every person I watched try it on RU-vid trying to jam the end or have it lifted then drop or leave it in the water spent alot of time waiting to prime and some didn't. But I do have a far amount of drop on the spot so maybe it will be just fine like we spoke about especially if you could get the 4" going
............ thats kind of the point in me sharing this lol 😆 Read the rules you will see stuff like No hand tools No shovels No sluice No dredge ........ where does it say no pipe???? If you can sluice where you are I'd be using this method. Lol 😆 who said I do legal things ?
I was amazed on how much pull I had , it doesn't take much drop to create suction but the more drop the less hose you need I had 3 feet of drop and 40 feet of hose it was more than enough I could use even 4" line with that amount. Google gravity Dredge California read the pdf from the oldtimers in the 70s they perfected the style of mining all types of golden information in that article
@@GramCanyonSam thanks bro. I know that the unevenness is a key factor, and my area has practically the same unevenness. Never try because access is difficult and without trying before I did not want to lower the hose. I will look for the PDF
Thank you its a great knife 🔪 I used it to cut / tighten screws and eat ... , but my best friend is custom forging me a prospectors knife some day 4 months ago. If this one doesn't wear down to a toothpick before that happens I'll be lucky though! Lol 😆
No moving parts..... no nothing so yes as long as a sluice is legal this is legal enough that if you got tied up by the fuzz over it you would 100% win any case taken. They will tell you no on site , if that happens explain gravity to them and ask them if it's ok you walked on the trail also , the same theory applies or we would have floated to the sun 🌞.
That was nicks gold from his bucket 🪣 hole . I just tested the suction made sure it would transfer gravel, my pressure hose from my keene dredge wouldn't bend it was to cold so it was just moving the pipe and I would end up losing suction when the nozzle end would come out of the water.
@@GramCanyonSam since I’ve never studied these just out of curiosity if you reduce the intake side of the hose does it build more suction or would you lose suction? No worries on the hose I’m sure you’ll find something that works better with more flexible yet durable materials 👊🏻
@@48thstateprospecting I'd assume it would create just a bit more/ because there are systems that go from 6" to 4" lines that can really move some water and create suction pressure.
Yes it will be , but it's not really a matter of flow but drop , even once the flow decreases I will be able to dam up pools as I go up creek the pipe will be the only way for water to continue. As long as the drop is there once the water fills in the pipe suction will start.
Yes I should be able to make it "over to that area .....lol " on the 15th for that gathering. My bday is the 18th so I already planned on spending Friday to Monday in the area. Can't wait to see you buddy
Do you do that with your sluice box? Or do you screen silt from when a shovel full is taken out ? Why would there need to be a tailings pond if the state doesn't require them? Most states only involve that when P.O.O. are put in and machines are extracting material and a plant is running. In fact putting that material into the hillside would be a a massive no no just about anywhere in America anyways.
