Grey Reef Shark: HEY! BACK OFF! Thresher Shark: Grey Reef Shark, eat a snickers. Grey Reef Shark: Why? Thresher Shark: Because you go in agonist display when you are hungry. Better? Grey Reef Shark: Better. But I'm still going to swim in jerky movements though. Thresher Shark: OH NO! HE IS STILL MAD!
I love port jackson sharks. Could you do a podcast/webisode/shark academy on them? That would be great, especially because most people (me included) don't know much about them.
Jonathan Bird! Greetings from Bahrain! Huge fan of your videos, I like how your collection of videos is unique from other Marine Life ones in that they have a particular focus to them, other videos talk about marine life in a more general fashion. Lastly, isn't your name a bit ironic xD
If I was like a shark and I wasn't happy, I'd do what the Grey Reef Sharks do, putting my back up(Dorsal Fin) stick my arms out (Pectoral Fins) and move very awkward like. That would show everyone that I wasn't happy.
When certain types of sharks adopt a certain body posture and swimming style which shows they are annoyed. With Gray Reef sharks they lower their pectoral fins, hunch their back and swim in jerky movements. When you see that, you want to back off.
Fact: the largest concentration of grey reef sharks is found in French Polynesia specifically the Fakarava atoll. Hunting groups in the area number between 250 and 700 grey reef sharks.
You know the IKEA plushie sharky??? I was trying to figure out if this sharky plushie was based on an actual sharky, but I had to score off a few. Nearest to the plushie is the grey reef sharky. I have my own IKEA sharky watching this vid now, & she seems to agree... She kept trying to ask the reef sharkies in the feeding frenzy vid to spare her some fish, but I had to tell her a) it's a recording, b) it was taken a while ago, & c) we're nowhere near Yap... Disappointed plushie sharky!!! Still, she enjoyed seeing so many of her cousins & friends...
thank you , very informative....i encounter this shark looking for lobsters on reef ...it was a beauty and i observed thats a pretty nervous and active shark....sea is not a playground but a hunt ground....respect
