Another home run by SRO. No, wait, a GRAND SLAM by SRO. Always thinking. Always creating. The community of Bushcrafters owes you all a huge debt of gratitude. For example, think about the last devastating hurricane in the Caribbean and how useful the SRO tarp, the SRO water filtration kit, and the SRO fire starter kit would be. With SRO supplying the homeless and hungry, there would be much less misery in this world. Well done David. Bravo Zulu.
This is fantastic, I’ve been talking about this forever and I’m glad someone finally made it happen! Definitely will be buying that nesting cup from you. As an added bonus: my pack hydration pocket on the outside barely holds the Geopress and it’s hard to get in and out. With the nesting cup holding that pouch open like a sleeve I’ll be able easily remove/replace the Grayl. Just made my day!
Dave, you are awesome! Thanx for putting these kits together for us, it saves us having to source the add-ons that we would want to make a usable kit. I ordered two multi-fuel stoves this morning when I noticed they were back in stock and I will be watching for the Grayl kits to be available. I have a Grayl but want the items you are kitting together for us. Thanx again for all you (and Zahn) do for us!
Been using a Grayl for years now, IMO a super excellent option for clean filtered water that is really easy and takes little time to get hydrated~ Thanks for sharing!
Always great gear, well thought out. I enjoy companies that take their products across the finish line, and not just stop at the fifty-yard line. Thank You
I like how the nesting cup has a beveled rim that would allow me to loop some cordage around it to make a long bailing handle so I can scoop up water when I'm not able to get close to the water's edge. I modified my Grayl Geopress outer cup to allow the same thing, but because there's no beveled lip on the cup I used a large rubber ranger band from a motorcycle tire tube to give my cordage something to hold onto as I lowered the cup down to scoop up water that I wanted to filter. I also like the idea of pre-filtering with the millbank bag so that's something I'll also be buying. Thanks for your continued work on trying to improve gear.
Can't wait for this system to hit the UK. I already have, and love, the Grayl Geopress. Without doubt the best water filter I've ever owned (and I've owned plenty). The nesting cup will be a great addition to my kit.
I went to the Appalachians in north GA a month ago and took the Geopress with me and filtered all of my water through it and it works amazingly well. My hydration setup was the Geopress, Pathfinder 32oz SS bottle/cup, and a klean kanteen 40oz SS bottle and the only thing I am going to add to that is probably a camelback for my day bag and maybe a canvas milbank bag for turbidity The Geopress is absolutely fantastic and I love it.
Not bad Dave. Not to bad at all! I like the 64 ounce water bottle and nesting cup I picked up. I put it together with the smaller bush pot and stove. Maybe with this I could ditch the Sawyer mini with the one gallon bag. I really dig yours Sean's and ranger survival and field crafts videos. Thanks again.
I’ll buy all of those items minus the Geopress which I already own and love. Great ideas! I look forward to purchasing them when they become available.
You all are really starting to have a startling selection of gear. The titanium bottle and cup are high on my list, and I’m waiting for your new version of the Swedish M-40 cook kit. Thanks!
Dear Mr. Canterbury, this is an awesome set. Well done👌👌👌, I hope strongly that I can get this to Austria, because it isn't very easy to get such cool things in Austria or Europe. All the best and stay safe from 🇦🇹🤠👍
Great. One change that would make it better for me is to deboss the liquid gradations into the cup. Examples of that are the DZO 27oz stainless cup or the Stanley Adventure Cookset.
Woot woot thanks Dave. So I have to say I've gotten multiple things from SRO canteen cook kit, bottle cook kit, plus some other odds and ends and have been using everything for couple years now on a regular basis. Everything is great had a small problem with my canteen cook kit when I recieved it called SRO two days later i received a replacement. Awesome service, awesome products, customer for life, looks like I will be making another purchase here soon.
Would you advise having 2 separate containers, one to boil dirty water and than one to drink from if you are in a location where you can get away with only boiling water? Remember, the Grayl filter out heavy metals and I think some chemicals as well so if you are in an area were it is unlikely the water will be contaminated by heavy metals or chemicals you can save the filter by not using it! I'm asking because I've seen videos of people saying that you should carry 2 containers, 1 to boil and 1 to drink from because you can contaminate your drinking water if you just use the same container. That to me seems a little redundant because if bacteria within water dies after a few minutes at sea level boiling temperature than wouldn't the bacteria on the cup die at the same time!? This is a good set up and I'm glad someone finally brought a nesting cup for Grayl out. Whilst it's not advisable, this would be a good system for those living in areas that flood zones as you can theoretically drink the water if you are cut off......use the Millbank bag to filter particles than boil to kill off any bacteria and potential bio-hazards and then filter to kill off any remaining bacteria and potential bio-hazards as well as remove heavy metals and chemicals.
Please do one in titanium. I have the stainless and it’s great, only complaint is weight. I’m not a gram weenie but with ankle and heel injury I’m now trying to cut weight as much as possible.
The gen 3 bag in your store will hold a 64oz bottle 48oz cup set , just like the old set of 32oz bottle kit . I'm a diabetic, I have to have lots of water and liquid. I'm waiting for the new coffee press . And another 16inch squirrel cooker,
Would you be able to also make a bowl and pan/skillet to accompany this nesting cup? Similar to you canteen set? So you would have the grayl, in the nesting cup, in the bowl, in the skillet. Should make for a sought after cook system for me as I wouldn't need anything else. It would be perfect! Even better uf you could make it in titanium too!
