Grazer = super mom. The first year is a tough time for cubs and mom. She is avoiding the falls and sticking to the riffles where it is a little safer for her coys.

How do they know that they cannot follow their mother into the rushing current? Remember how in 2023 another mother bear lost her cub in Naknek and the male ate it?
Unfortunately, I do remember, over and over I see the diminutive little female fighting the current. Finally, after great effort, she is just about to make it behind Mom and the current grabs her. Shortly, he does. Nature, yes, but cried all through dinner and many times since. . .
