I uploaded custom firmware with just X axis homing. Typically,, you will have Z homing,, then X and Y together. If you have 2 axis homing,, It will skip Z and do only X and Y together.
as an addendum, I've seen some wiring diagrams on reddit for setting up normally closed end stops that include a resistor and capacitor for noise mitigation. I assume the circuit is simply opposite to your NO setup (minus the resistor and cap), but do you have insight on changing GRBL registers to recognize the NC setting? thanks!
WOW! Thank you VERY much. This and your other video on the GRBL Shield help me with the GRBL board ( 3 Axis GRBL 1.1f USB Port CNC Engraving Machine Control Board ) that I am installing in my K40 machine. I could NOT get it to Home with the end stop switches. Once I knew that the switches were connected correctly to my GRBL Shield but would still not Home, I used LaserBRBL to flash the 2 axes firmware over the GRBL 1.1f and IT WORKED. I was then able to flash the board I wanted t o use and IT WORKED! I have been struggling with this for a week. THANK you!
Dear Anthony, thanks for your informative videos. We built corexy diode laser engraver machine, but we cannot make homing on both x and y. when the carriage touches one of the limit switches, it stops even if it doesn't touch the other. could you help us with how we can enable homing on both axes?
Great vid! ..My question ..I have a small lathe setup, GRBl v1.1h I have my endstop working on z+, I had to change the config_h file for UNO as per the notes, I want to control a relay just on off for the spindle, can I just use the SpnEn pin?? With M3 M5 command do I have to edit config_h again? Thanks
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm trying the same thing. I have two wires connected to z, one to black one to white.. I've set $20 to 1. I only have my Z axis connected to the shield. When I hit Home the motor move momentarily then I get an error message "Homing pull off action failed to clear limit switch". The switch is not fitted as yet, I'm just testing with two wires. Any ideas?
@@brakthehun Could you make a video on that? Perhaps combined with the homing? Or just send me a quick text tutorial with settings to change? I thought it was as easy as putting switches on the dedicated endstops on the cnc shield board that you use (I have the same but with DRV8825 drivers and nema27 2.5amp motors for cnc)
Great video for GRBL But I have a little different setup looking for help arduino running separate drivers with ugs how would I connect switches I can’t find any advice on my setup
hi first of all thanks for this awesome video. secondly, i already have a laser with the same board as you use and every time i press homing the laser stand still and not move the it show me an error that the machine didn't find limit switch although i installed the switches as you show. any idea how to fix it? thanks in advance
hello, would it be or is it possible to disable z while in laser mode, I am using v 1.1 in my laser machine and cannot use limit switch on x, y because homing fails because there is no z hardware at all also by disabling z as dont need it for runing laser
I abandoned ugs and went to lazergrbl same issue if I hit home it gives error code pin9 x limit pin10 y limit and pin 12 is torch on also can’t get it to come on
On my CoreXY with GRBL 1.1g on CPU_MAP_2560_RAMPS_BOARD, the X and Y axes move simultaneously to the zero point, I would like X first then Y #define HOMING_CYCLE_0 (1
