Side note, the Canadian Plumbing Code might be different, but that sucking is because it isn't vented properly. There is no flat vent. I would recommend if that is code to fix it for them, that is why blockages are occurring. Ps. I love the auger.
This whole video is humorous to me. Makes a good point that the switch pack is a decent price point for diy. It comes in below most pro level 120v tools. I do appreciate the upload, not many about it. I may have to get one... I’m just sure it could hold up to daily use...
I have all drain cleaning snakes,, they are junk... I was on the bandwagon because I like Milwaukee tools and I they are cordless.... I have the switchpack, the smaller drill snake, and the larger drill snake, plus the air snake and the 2 toilet augers... I have a drain clean business... the 3 snakes are all pretty much worthless,, the smaller drill is ok.. but the problem is that all 3 of them get gunned up early fast and the feeds won’t work ,,, the switch pack is the biggest waste of money... the cable is shit and as soon as it gets under a little torque, the cable will flip inside the drum... it’s no going to work like like a Ken way jr or spartan 100 or a rigid.. it’s weak.. and the blades are junk,,, The air snake is great except I have had to have mine service at least 7 times in a year and a half,, the compressor leaks and won’t fill up with air after 20 uses... seriously I’m pissed... I would return all of it if I could.. I would never do it again no matter how much your tempted to do it because it’s cordless... don’t do it
Appreciate the thoughts of a pro who can compare to other machines. This confirms what I had thought. I like the cordless option but its basically a sink machine that I wouldn't want to use for more than 30ft due to the reasons Robert Maki stated.
I’ve use the switch pack and the 2772A and work great! Great on 1.5” to 4” drain lines and no problems. I mean I won’t tackle roots with it but shit, regular shit clogs, paper towels, plastic bags, pretty much anything that’s not roots or concrete lol. Also my airsnake I only use on urinals and works wonders. What type of clogs have you had issues with?
I hope you understand a sink line is a branch line. Which means it should enter into a bigger drain. I’ve seen branch lines ran up to 60 feet but that’s it. If it’s grease you need a jet. Not a snake.
Hello, thank you for the video! Is your kitchen sink pipe 2 inch or 1 1/2 inch? I have a Rigid k50, but the 5/8 cable does not go through bends. In your opinion, will the 3/8 Milwaukee inner core from the switch pack work for 1 1/2 kitchen sink?
been using k50 for kitchens drains for years , if it ain't working it's the type of cable or operator, but c8 cables work unless you have real old galv pipe or dwv pipe
I am not a professional drain cleaner, and only so far used it to clear sink drains 4 times. I love it. Saves me tons of money from calling those drain cleaning company, and it is much easier to transport up stairs. Lastly, it is impossible to rent a machine with small cable that is longer than 50', let alone being able to connect 125' like I have. Kitchen sinks are mainly grease clogs, so it is perfect for it.
@@diyjohn9584 , thank for the videos i have been debating on buying this tool for a while. I do a lot of drain clearing from the roof and a light weight alternative would be nice.
I think I might try that next time. It almost become like an annual ritual to unclog this particular drain line. How do you find the machine to be at work?
@@diyjohn9584 i work for university, my plumber at my shop buy smaller millwakee drain clean machine. I go for biggest one they has. Because i was running roof drain was plug, but no power in 100 foot around.
You should never run a kitchen sink line 100ft. Theres no way they piped that to be 100ft. You blew through the blockage and just kept going. You have to work the grease sections
You are right. Just that sometimes I have to run the water for a while before it starts to back up, so to be safe and since I have the length, might as well go for the greasy gold.
Haven't used it on poop yet, but have used on hair clogs and grease clogs. Soft poop should be no different, including the need to wash down your cable after use. Then wash down again with soap. Then wipe clean and apply snake oil.
I run through the 5/16 *75 feet and 3/8*50 feet as you did for my kitchen sink, but it failed. I used the whole 125 feet both on the roof and under the sink after taking the P trap. I had to call a plumber, who used a HOLLOW 3/8 cable with a half C cutter attachment and he did it from the vent on my roof (only used about 70 feet). I found the 5/16 cable with the fixed drop head is useless, and the 3/8 cable is too stiff to get through 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 pipes. I hate I had to spend big money to hire a plumber after I bought the Milwaukee. Come on! Milwaukee needs to make a 5/16 cable with the ability to put on attachments or a HOLLOW 3/8 cable for the switch pack.
@@diyjohn9584 dude every time i use it it's get tangled up inside the drum then i spend 10 minutes trying to fix it so i could use it again, just saying it's missing very important peace like lock on snake so when reach obstruction in would just keep spinning instead of tangling everything inside
@@devinF1piper switch pack does not come with auto feed or cable lock. That is why it is for light duty clogs like grease and paper. No concrete, roots, toilet paper holder.
Not being a licensed plumber, I have more than got my money back from using this machine. I realize it is not meant for tough solid clogs and tree roots, but is perfect for all other everyday clogs. There are zero regrets for buying this machine, and all parts are still working perfectly since I have not used this machine constantly.
