See how a team at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology installed live-streaming video cameras at a Great Blue Heron nest before the birds returned in spring to Sapsucker Woods Pond in Ithaca, New York. With the cams in place, more than 1.4 million people watched as the herons came back and raised their young. To check in on the latest cams, visit AllAboutBirds.org/cams.

What a great thing to have shared with us! I have enjoyed the HeronCam since the beginning this year. I was laid up from surgery and was bed-bound for weeks. SO nice to have the herons to watch all that time. Certainly helped to keep me sane. Thanks so much for the cams

I don't know where my work would be without the email support of your lab and the entire site construction. The swans I have been studying finally made a huge or permanent nest of a size and construction that was amazing. People who don't have upclose exposure have been able to through your work! Your lab fosters interest, conservation and compassion!

I have been watching the Heron Cam since before the eggs were laid. This has been an incredible experience, and I have learned so much about herons. It's very interesting to see how the cameras were installed and the work behind the scenes. Thanks to Cornell for creating this excellent observation opportunity for us all. I can't wait 'til next year!

I've been lucky enough to see great blue herons on two occasions, each one was well-hidden until they took off. I wouldn't have known they were there along the creekside if they hadn't flown away.

These cams are fantastic...loved the close up views of the family, seeing the beautiful pond and surroundings, and especially enjoyed the chicks' clacking at feeding time! The whole season has been totally amazing--thanks so much!
