Part 1 or 2: We visit the Great Caravan, Motorhome & Holiday Home Show 2024 held at Harrogate Showground in North Yorkshire between Friday 6th-Sunday 8th September 2024 and take a look around on the first day of opening. It’s the public show followed by the trade show.

Dave, your beautiful other half, gave a worrying ‘hint’ in the log style cabin, ‘I like the fact you have the living space and kitchen in the middle that allows you to have separate bedrooms so you can get away and have your own quiet space!’ My wife would think exactly the same 🤣🤣

Unfortunately we couldn’t make Lincoln work this year due to other things going on so unfortunately we will miss that one - I do like Lincoln, hopefully be back next year. Hope you have a lovely time.

Lovely to see you both today. We were very impressed with the show. So much to see. Especially enjoyed the lodges ,and train ride. Some great vans and Motorhomes. Beautiful sunny day. Great vlog as always 🥰

Hiya David Rachel and Roxy I'll try again. We were go go there today but after checking the BBC weather app on Wednesday it said rain so called it off plus there was another reason. So we went to see the tomato man😮 I've put a comment on you're camper van conversion vlog just before you put this on Please Check it out. Yeah we could have met you today. Plenty to see again I see. It’s probably worth looking at the Warner Shows for second hand vans - this one is a manufacturer / new van show - it’s worth checking around the dealers at the moment as there’s some good discounts on Motorhomes and Campervans - is it a van or motorhome you’re looking for?

Disappointing show for the motor Homer. Considering that Harrogate is near Leeds, there were none of the interesting van conversion companies there, such as Vantage, IH, Consort, etc. Also Auto Trail, Auto Sleeper, we’re not there. The best thing I found was Hawkins Distillery from Sheffield who produce some brilliant gins.

Depends what you’re looking for I suppose, the Warners shows often have a bigger variety but this show only covers new official NCC approved motorhomes and Campervans from what I understand from the info on the website and only new vans, not second hand. Pleased you found the Hawkins Distillery. All the best, David & Rachel 👍

Hi David, we are asking, though understand you may not know the answer! On the new 2025 Swift Carrera(s), you viewed, you highlighted the aftermarket wheels. They looked great. Was this a Swift Manufacturers stand or a Dealership stand, as confused why they would show a brand new updated van with an aftermarket wheel (Possibly says a lot about the normal wheel!!)? Did you clock the make & model of the aftermarket wheel? I’m guessing they were the same wheel size as the normal wheel? (if not knowing, don’t worry, we will get in touch with Swift marketing department) We also agree with your comment, the one change we were all hoping, maybe even expecting, was a change to the Gas system for the habitation area. Guessing Swift in consultation with Calor Gas believe access to the bottles, especially bottle size on the Carrera, is not an issue for the next 10 years! Guessing, fitting a diesel heater with other planned add-ons, will give redundancy, as bottle concerns grow. It is why we are considering going Diesel, as even with a underslung gas tank, due to gas tank fill-ups decreasing across UK & Europe, even this appears to be a fading option for future proofing. They have also fitted a new oven in the Swift Carrera range from details on the Swift website. Did you notice if it was bigger, smaller, or same size as previous ovens in earlier model years? think I covered this one but I've not been much much help to you :) ... I didn't catch the make of the wheels they were nice wheels though weren't they - I wonder if they are doing those wheels with the 2025 models or if they were just at the stand - If I do manage to find out will let you know. It was a Swift Manufacturer stand (that's my understanding) rather than a dealer/retailer. I wondered if for the gas they were concerned about changing to underslung in case folks found issues getting it? Would be nice for some other options for heating though.
