@@hilsthetrainlady4683 Surely in these days of global warming and climate change, we should scrapping and recycling steam locomotives, not throwing more carbon into the atmosphere!

SteamLocoScrapper I think there are much greater sources of pollution in this world.

@@hilsthetrainlady4683 I agree with your statement. But we should all setting an example. It's common to see fans of diesel locos celebrating "clag" ie Unburned fuel being sprayed into the environment. Times have moved on since 60 years ago when we sprayed steam and diesel loco emissions without realising the damage. If we don't agree with cutting and recycling then static museum exhibits would be an alternative strategy, but museum exhibit viewing is limited and some locos should be recycled.
