Is it just me or are Sonor Drums the best sounding drums ever made? Everytime I listen to a set of Sonor's I'm blown away by the sound. Lots of amazing sounding drum sets out there but Sonor's to me are amazing.
1. Yes they are the best sounding ever made 2. Don’t confuse a professionals touch and tuning and another professionals sound engineering for how a drum will actually sound when you purchase it
We are blessed to live in a time with all 3 of these guys. Don't waste your time trying to find out who is better. I wish I knew what they have forgotten about drumming.
simon is not only soloing hes playing along with some killer jazz musicians and keeping in time with them as much as they're playing along with him. a solo is one thing but what simon is doing goes beyond its pretty amazing.
OK....Thomas Pridgen is officially one of my favorite drummers......I mean ALL-TIME. That guy was awesome, and has incredible speed very unique technique. OK, Benny Greb is the most unique drummer I have ever seen. Awesome stuff from that guy for sure.
Haha! People are arguing here who was the best. It wasn't the point. All of these are great drummers, and they put original effort in their own solo. I enjoyed. So different, still so good.
I love all three of these drummers. Simon Phillips the master of dynamics. No one makes a groove feel so right like Benny Greb. Thomas Pridgen takes some pretty basic chops and blows your mind with them.
What’s funny is that the Benny Greb clip cuts just before it’s about to really pick up. I’ve watched that full video a hundred times and the second half is absolutely mind blowing
I'll preface my comment by saying that I wish I could play like any of the three of them, but for raw, chaotic excitement, my vote contrasts with the majority and goes to Thomas Pridgen. Simon Phillips stands out for his amazing accuracy and catching all the accents, but Thomas, for me, just kills it! Articulate chaos, I might call it.
Benny ist einfach der größte! Wie er wirklich jede klang Fasete aus seinem Schlagzeug raus holt ist grandios. Und seine Dynamik ist von einem anderen Stern, einfach grandios!
Bennie really following in Vinnie's footsteps with the musicality. So entertaining to watch and most of all to listen too. Such a beautiful musical approach.
All of these drummers are proficient and at the top of their game. This is a solo and one may be more creative than the other at the time. They all have incredible chops, especially Thomas, but each brings a different style and unique form of playing and creativity. Obviously Simon is the master at open handed playing, and Thomas brings speed and precision. But Benny is a monster at creating some spectacular sounds and grooves with both hands and sticks. Thanks for the post...
Why are they showing a very old Simon Phillips solo, not one of his best solos for sure. There’s dozens of SP solos on here that blow both guys out the water although Benny is brilliant Simon at his best is mind boggling!!!
Are these guys even human? I can't believe what they pull off. Love Simon Phillips. I really dig the musicality of B.G. Kind of reminds me of Al Foster. Would have been perfect to go from hands to brushes to sticks.
I am not a huge fan of drum solos but when they are played like this you just have to admire the technique. Thomas Pridgen has some tasty chops. Some drummers even those with a huge level of talent can sometimes dial in a drum solo live but none of that here.
Ronald Ent why you talking crap about thomas pridgen? You is a absolute legend. Are you jealous because you never really acomplished something in music?
