It was a great show

Just got to the bit about your GC layout. I think it should be left as is (or something similar) what a show needs to get people introduced is a "progression" layout - bare board/play mat, settrack with painted roads and card kits - then a mix of basic scenery - finally much better scenery. The point to show that you/we (most people anyway) don't start into the hobby with finescale and P4 standards. Alternatively set one aisle in the hall out with adjacent layouts showing that progression up the ability scale.

I can't believe it's been 3 weeks since GETS ended, I already want to get back next year. Firstly, thank you for putting on a great show. It felt so good to finally be back at an exhibition after so long, it finally gave me some much needed inspiration for my own layout and some much needed motivation for getting the layout progressing once again. It was great to finally meet you all at long last (I was the chap who bought over the Network rail SPA open wagons for you guys, apologies for not introducing myself at the time), but as a whole it was just nice to be back to normal and socialising with like minded people once again. You'll definitely be seeing me again next year at GETS. Seeing the TPE Mk5s in person led to me 'accidentally' clicking pre order on both sets but they'll be so worth it once they arrive next year. I hope you all had a fantastic time at GETS as well. As ever, thank you for a brilliant video. They are always put together superbly. Hi. Can I mention you are referring to 16mm Gauge ,this is in fact the Scale ,I e 16mm equals 1 Foot Scale , therefore SM32 ,so 32mm Track gauge =2ft gauge .

My girlfriend and I went on the saturday, it was well worth it (you may have noticed my tall self with my huge backpack). Got myself several goodies including an arriva wypte 144 and an 0 gauge tanker wagon I've been after for a couple of years (berry wiggins 101). Really enjoyed it, although it was rather packed and not many masks about (as though covid wasn't a thing, and I believe I caught the bad cold at the event too). I didn't have a chance to speak to many people, although had a nice chat with Keith of KR Models (my friend Tim was with KR Models, but I somehow didn't see him at all) plus a bit of a chat with someone with Accurascale and some of the smaller layout operators. Could've done with some seating areas for those who can't stand that long; as it was, I was there for about 5 hours and the only time I sat down was to eat lunch, on the floor on one of the balconies. I was looking forward to seeing mini Mike and Richard on Oak Road, but there were no figures present when I saw it (maybe they were added on the Sunday, I know the layout had signalling issues). I couldn't really get close to the Making Tracks layout because it was always packed, even when things quietened down in the afternoon, but I did see bits of it. I was very surprised when I approached the Museum of Transport layout and heard the last couple of minutes of a brass band piece called Zulu, which I recorded with the National Methodist Youth Brass Band back in 2012 (it wasn't that recording though). I really need to swap the headcode discs on my GT3. I've already modified the lights to make the lights below the headcode discs be red (by adding some red lighting gel from stage lighting equipment) and work directionally opposite the headcode lights (by modifying the wiring in the tender to route the lights to what is the yellow wire connection on an 8-pin chip (but obvs the corresponding pin for the 21-pin socket) instead of to the ground pin). My only gripes with that model is the fact I had to modify the lights (apparently the 2nd batch has correct directional lights), and the fact the builders plates say "English Electic". I've already ordered the Fell, the Leader, DHP1, and the Consett wagons, but hopefully I'll order some Palbricks in the next few months and put my name down for a Bellerophon too, but the 4DDs will have to wait until I am more financially stable. Question is, did the 4DDs run as a single 8-car train, or 2 4-car ones? Tempted to get one in green and one in blue. I'm yet to receive a 00 order from Accurascale. I have 92010, 97301, D9016, and D9009 plus a mk5a set on order, with a manor and maybe a 2nd 92 and pretty much definitely more 37s (including 423 Spirit of the Lakes) on the list to preorder, and the IIA biomass wagons on my list to order as soon as I have a job as well as the Chauldrons and a pack of 3 HAAs with canopies. But my only purchase from them so far has been an 0 gauge HUO hopper; I want a 2nd now to form a rake with many different 21T hoppers, but they're all sold out everywhere. Hope there's a 2nd batch planned. I really need the Dublo GSN, but they're probably all sold out now...

The hobby is dead if you dont act now!!!! Harley davidson have gone the same way and their average age of users is 50+. Your not inviting enough to youngsters. £££££ Most people who like trains, got hooked when they were children, with parents Stood on cold platforms. You need to cherish that idea and bring back prices of old, you manufacture is china, cheaper than the uk by far. I can see why parents buy games consoles and not model trainsets. It does more to captivate a child, is cheaper. Bring the prices down, what happened to trucks/wagons being a lot less and Locomotives within reach of pocket money saved over months or birthday money? Now you have to work full time to buy new. Even the 2nd market is racing away. Note to Collecters, use them, your part of the problem excepting high prices and driving high prices. When you pass, auction houses will Sell off your toys at alot less than you value. A sad world, kid to adult ratio at the show was????? Bet more adults than children.

Perpetuating the strange British habit of using "gauge" rather than "scale" in your awards. Why not 4mm scale? Makes more sense, how does the gauge affect buildings? What if a P4 model is the best? Also leads to generational confusion, the rest of the world can handle "scale".
