Nice video guys, thank you. Good to see you all back together again too! I still think that the three levels of the layouts should be named Topley Dale, Middle Dale and Bottomley Dale. Three fun, yet authentic sounding, layout names. Thanks again.

Brilliant video as ever gents, look forward to seeing the completed project on the 0 gauge. I have to say I do really like the name Middledale, or as an alternative name to a prototype station, Middlers dale based off Millers dale near Buxton, or High Middleton. Keep up the good work and keep safe Cheers James

I've got the hornby SR green maunsell gangway brake luggage van, is fantastic although I had to bend the brake pads away from the wheels on 2 wheels I think to make it fully free rolling. I've got a 4CEP in plain green, so a 4BEP to match would be awesome, but probably a bit expensive for me atm. I'd also love one of those vans, since I like collecting different brake vans. The hattons genesis coaches look fantastic, but I'll wait for NCB in the 2nd batch or NER in the 3rd batch; I've got a hornby LNWR full brake, with the 4 6-wheelers to match on their way to my local shop for me. 2002 looks so menacing with those extra deflectors, love it. I'd get 66773 if it was bachmann or hattons, but the hornby model is a bit basic, and a shame hornby's pride pendolino is only 9 and not 11 coaches. Defo getting 800008 though. The 0 gauge extension looks great. I've actually been doing a lot of 0 gauge this month, having bought and weathered 3 dapol 16t wagons (one of which I had to renumber thanks to the enamel washes disintegrating the printed numbering) and also having bought and built and weathered a parkside 16t wagon. As well as buying wood and roofing felt and preservative, building a 30'ish extension to the 0 gauge garden railway with it (the track is yet to arrive, and next up is the wiring). I do like the name Middley Dale, since the garden layout must be Bottomley Dale. Gonna be cool for Topley Dale to be a similar size to my Ashbrooke Central. Great video, as always.

Thanks for the comment, Richard calls the garden railway 'Windy Bottom'

Great Video... What is the track you are using? I'm starting to think through an o gauge Garden Layout. I looked on-line and see two Peco Flex Track Options, any pointers on the differences and which I should go with? (Probably a code 100 equivalent in OO) as I have a couple of older Basset Lowke O Gauge live steamers Id want to run. Another question - I'm a Subscriber to the web-sie, but I don't see any options top get the "physical" Magazine mailed to the US?

I'm wondering if it would be possible to make a loco lift to take locos from the test track to the garden railway, without lifting them off the layout?

You could, would need to be huge as the rakes on the garden line are massive.

What’s the difference betwee What is the difference between O gauge and G scale in the UK
@RWJP
@RWJP 3 года назад
G Scale is considerably larger. G Scale runs on 45mm wide track, O Scale runs on 32mm wide track. You can google "Model railway scale comparison" to see images that show the size difference.

@michael32A
@michael32A 3 года назад
Hello Timothy Keinard, 'O Gauge' is 32mm or 1.25inch gauge, modelling to 1:43.5 in the UK and France, 1:45 in the rest of mainland Europe, and 1:48 in the USA, generalised to 7mm:1foot, representing standard gauge (4feet 8.5inch gauge) prototypes. Whereas 'G Scale' - as I see you will already know from you picture - is 45mm or 1.75inch gauge, modelling at around 1:22.5 scale, representing roughly 3ft or metre gauge, narrow-gauge prototypes... Unless you use 64mm or 2.5inch gauge track to model standard gauge in the same scale, which is known as 'Gauge 3'. For the sake of completeness, I'll add that using the same 1.75inch track as G Scale, but modelling standard gauge prototypes at 1:32 (10mm:1foot) is called 'Gauge 1'. Hope this answers your question? Take Care,
@hornbymag
