That Gunny is a crazy SOB. I served with him in Okinawa when we were both Sergeants, and I can tell you that dude had one hell of a memory. He could read anything and recite it back to you pretty much word for word. Semper Fi
My hometown lost a Marine over the weekend of August 6th. Sgt Adan Gonzales of Bakersfield was killed during a combat operation near the town of Sangin, in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Thank you Sgt Gonzales for your sacrifice. Thank you Gonzales family for yours as well. God Speed!
My brother is in this video...he is back in Afghanistan now and I watch this video on a regular basis so I can see him when I miss him :) Im so proud to be a Marine Sister
this guy was my first platoon sgt when i got to 3/8, after i introduced myself, he took me outside to smoke a cigarette, asked me if i drank coffe, asked me if i drank redbull, asked me about my knowledge of the marine corps, and then told me my job was going to be point man in iraq. i think i left that conversation with a boner.
I love Sergeant Major speeches. The good ones got a real nice way of talking. Good shit. You Marines did some work on that shithole. Oorah to you. -An Army 11b
My first TI (AF) in Basic had this same type of motivational speaking. Using history to effectively motivate a troop is an amazing thing. Gives me goosebumps.
I had a Sgt who was at the end of his contract. He said that if someone had played this speech near the end of his contract, he would have reenlisted. Then 5 minutes later, he would have hated his life all over again!
Maybe this will help. My Son is an 0331, Machine Gunner, serving with the 6th Marines, in Afghanistan. Ryan was always a great kid but, In the time he's been in, I've grown to respect and admire the Man he's become in ways I'd never known I would. In many respects, I now look up to him. If the Army and the Navy Ever look on Heaven's scenes; They will find the streets are guarded By United States Marines. There's a reason they're legadary - a very good reason. Best wishes.
AHHHHHHH SHIT!!!! brings back memories!!! i was never with that group of Marines but it dont matter!! we all chewed the same fucking sand!! CHEERS to all my brothers and sisters home and still out there!! SEMPER FI!!!
Marine Corps is the only way to go. Its the best time and the worst time you will ever have. I went through some trying times but damn it I wouldn't change it for a damn thing. Best decision I ever made.
I know this Marine! He was a SSgt. at SOI East in spring 2006 timeframe while I was going through. He never wore a skivvy shirt and always carried a canteen cup! Was also with 3/8 through initial Battle at Ramadi. Green may have been his name? Can't remember...
I think I've watched this shit like 3 times in a row. I'm a WM...out now in 1st CivDiv (fuck this shit btw...stay the fuck in) and this shit just motivated the hell out of me. Thank you, Marines. Semper Fi.
holy SHIT I GOT GOOSEBUMPS, I am out of the Corps. now and watch videos here and there and wonder what purpose I have in life now that I am out but I am going to have a great fucking day now because I remember being in speeches just like that that gave me meaning....* reaches for raging hard on*
@littlemisshottie28 your brother, will be fine. He's surrounded by men aimed at not only accomplishing the mission, but men who also aim to bring each and everyone back home.
