PAUL thank you so much.........I started playing golf at 68, that was 12 years ago and after watching your tapes for about a month it’s the first time I can say I have a real swing..........I think the word you were looking for was the clavicle
Very good. I love hearing it. So glad you tried it and now it's paying off. Fun times ahead. Ah, yes. I was drawing a blank. Thanks for filling in the gap.
This drill gave me that “light bulb” moment I was searching for. Thank you Paul. Love all your videos and passion for the game… easily the best golf instruction on RU-vid.
I am expecting you to acquire more subscribers from Queensland, Australia. After hours of practice on the range I am now starting to incorporate your teachings on the course and everyone is noticing the change. When asked if I am taking lessons I simply say ‘Paul Wilson on RU-vid’ plus practice at the range. When I get it right I am outdriving guys that I have never outdriven before and I have literally gone down 2-3 clubs on my approaches due to the extra yardage. And when I finish my round I want to go out again (I am 60 next week) as I am not putting the effort in that I used to. My arms still fight me as they want to be in control so it is still a work-in-progress. I should also add that I really enjoy the range now when I hated it before. I used to hit 50 balls before without a clear plan and then feel weary. Now I hit 150 balls and not tired at all.
I have a large following in Australia. I will certain keep my eye open for more followers. You guys love your golf. So glad you are starting to see results and people noticing. This is a great feeling. Keep at it and thank you for the promo to others.
Good stuff. Glad you are getting it. Just got to do it a little different way and you get the results. Hope everyone is reading this. It can be done. Keep up the good work.
I appreciate and try all your tips. My game has improved immensely since I started watching and subscribed to your channel. I look forward to an actual lesson from you sometime in the future.
Nice work! I love hearing it. Just stay focused. When we connect I will see it and clarify what to work on so you can take it to a whole new level. Keep up the good work.
Again, Very Good! This last months of instruction have been right on. This one is added to the waiting for my shot, along with the turn the club upside to work on speed.
Because there are idiots out there who are just being idiots, they think they know everything about the swing, the teach another technique etc. You can never stop them. What they don't realize is I have taught this stuff for 29 years and get amazing results ... fast. As the channel keeps growing it will become unstoppable. It is just a matter of time. So I will keep doing what I am doing. The goal is to get everyone to stop hitting with their arms.
Thank you Paul. Since I’ve been watching your videos I’m doing much better. Today was the first time I played in a week and only my 4th time playing since 2 years ago. I did much better hitting the ball, I just had to tell myself to keep my eye down on the ball and take my time in hitting the ball and following through. But I’m getting there thanks to your tips. I appreciate them.
Fantastic! You are on your swing. Try to not hit or help in the downswing. The power is from the legs and hips. Too many ladies want to do this really long backswing to pull the club down to hit the ball. Try to not see it this way. Set the hinge up there then use your body to hit it.
Thank you I will definitely remember this. I have to say to myself while I getting ready to hit the ball, eye on the ball, eye on the ball and then I hit a great shot. I know I’ll eventually get it down. Practice, practice, practice.
Yes, this is a serious issue in the average players swing yet I don't see too many people ever working on it. Just got to start doing simple stuff. Loosen the wrists and you get it.
Good drill. Do you ever suggest one arm swings to help loosen the wrist? I tried some today, not with a ball obviously, which kept my right arm feeling weak and forcing me to swing with my body,
Never had people do one arm swings. They do nothing because as soon as the person grips on with the other hand they start smashing it again. Got to get them to do it with 2 arms.
Hello. I have a question for you . I have been looking at many videos of you creating lag, but I wonder where is the shallowing of the club? I guess that the shallowing is still important? I am looking forward to your answer. Best Regards Tore L. Skryseth Norway
You are using simple physics of mass swinging around an axis. This shallows the plane. I have done tips on it here : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cogyf6UjH7U.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lpAugDvakfU.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-64xUMTcrn2I.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sbE-hzTXgNo.html
Hi Paul. I noticed If I swing the handle of the club to set the top of the backswing I get the right wrist angle and weight transfer to make a good downswing. Is that consistent with your teaching method?
Well I am looking for you to coil and hinge so if that does it for you then keep doing it. To get people to hinge I sometimes tell them to point the butt of the club away from the target so this is a way to hinge the club.
Paul, thank you for explaining that very simple drill. It is 6:00am and I'm heading outside to give this a go. The is one of my biggest problems...tempo and "all arms".
I am loose. I have done it many times so I am just letting it go. You need to manually release the club. You can do this slow at first. Just watch the face. If it's wide open then release it sooner. As you keep doing this your wrists will loosen up and you won't have to think about it into the future too.
The face is open right? So roll it early and close it. Once you can hook the ball consistently you add body rotation to straighten it out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5_O0H2QNFo0.html
Hey Paul, I’ve been changing my swing according to your instructions here and it’s made a huge difference in my striking and accuracy. But my ball flight is considerably higher than before. Any way to lower it a little?
This is probably because you were delofting the club due to a strong grip before. I you switch to neutral are no longer falsely delofting the club. Here are other reasons: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PZkBP21bPJU.html
I have other senior tips on the channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kzpkMC3MmNg.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8docjX_sxUk.html
Very good. You are heading in the right direction. Single digits are the new goal for you. Then the game gets really fun. You need more precise positions. Never hitting the ball with the arms (even looser than you are now). Learn to fix your own swing instantly. Course management. Better short game. You can do all of this without that much effort.
