I am about to listen to your song a third time. It's a really beautiful sound and speaks directly to my heart. The lyrics could mean many things to many people.
This song, this album kept me company while I travelled through Japan, China and Vietnam. There was and is something of all of us in these songs, or perhaps it's just that these lyrics speak to something from my own experience as I made my way from one place to another observing and photographing.
i vaguely remember listening to great lake swimmers when i was very young (like 13) and for some reason totally forgot about them until today when i found their music on my old hard drive
I'm from the states but this music & the vibe reminds me how much I'd love to someday live/be a Canadian. A country that has national radio and a national film board(and one of the top film festivals in the world) moves me!
Heard this song in 2004 when I worked at Starbucks. Bought this album just for this song. Met my husband the following year and this is the song we used as our Wedding March. Love this song so much.
I cannot believe that I have missed you guys all this time ! You guys are absolutely fantastic ! Only wish I had found you sooner. And how I found you was there was a question in my crossword puzzle about you guys. Again ; Freaking Fantastic !
Tony Dekker does an incredible job with this song. Few artists can create this kind of a feel and atmosphere in a song. Must say i listened to this quite a few times on repeat :)
Super fan! I listened to you my entire time in film school. Love your songs and words so much. Thank you for being a breath of fresh air while going through film school! xo from Oregon
I took it for love, or at least something beautiful, But turned around suddenly, turned around squinting, and saw That it was airbrushed. And that the truth, the truth was unbearable. Oh, and imminent.
@furkann182 I was watching Being Human and heard this song which I hadn't heard even though I had heard Great Lake Swimmers and then I put on an episode of Warehouse 13 and this exact song was at the end. It was weird.
If you like a artist or band & want to help them get air time then e-mail or call your local radio station & make a request or sugest they check them out. It helps if you remind them of the Canadian content laws & most stations appreciate the feedback.
