Lynn's eye for beautiful photos is an expressive art that is shared and enjoyed by all. Nature's cycle of life is 'life', and IMO let it be. Thank you for sharing.
Live and let live, old saying but true. Especially important in natural areas where we are the “intruder”. I happily will rescue an abandoned or injured animal that needs help, but I cannot intervene in the natural order of things. As usual, you respect your environment. Bless you.
I usually put the pedal to the metal in Georgia because Florida is usually where I'm headed, and am sad to say I've never stayed in Georgia, but I need to! Beautiful State Park!! I love coming along with you guys.. Thanks for bringing me!! (and Freya) Glad Owen's back is better. Peace & Prayers for you all.
We only stayed on the coast of Georgia for the same reason… it’s on our way to Florida. We have loved checking out Georgia State Parks and will be going back to see all the things we missed. Thanks for being with us this morning.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle You guys are so AWESOME! Have a groovy day! (I accidentally responded from the wrong acct., but it can't hurt, so I left it up, and watched the episode again!)
(Southern) GA State Parks are great! The only one we weren’t big on was Florence Marina. Our site sat in water after a rain. Thx, we’ll check Seminole out!
Can't tell you how much we enjoyed this video. Thank you for taking us along! I am only scared of 4 kinds of snakes. Big snake, little snake, live snake and dead snake. Circle of life is tough you did the right thing. Happy tails and safe travels.
It is so great to see the return of the eagles. I'm in southwest Ohio and never thought I would see one fly over the backyard in my lifetime. I never tire of them or any wildlife. I'm right there with you with snakes from a distance.
Watching Lynn on the play ground and Owen ride his bike is a nice reminder that Just because we grow older does not mean we have to quit ‘playing’. Never want to quit exploring. You guys are so fun! You never fail to bring a smile to my face. Interesting Lynn said you could have ridden the bikes to eat. Wonder if you miss a “toad”? We think we won’t need a toad in our travels, haven’t yet.
We never want to quit playing and exploring either. It just part of who we are. We do not miss a toad, it’s been awhile since we’ve had one. However it would make things easier if it could magically appear where we are staying.
Another great video. Thanks for taking us along… Oh yea, that snake deserves its meal. As you said, it’s their home your walking through and it’s their circle of life.
Cold, windy, and rv parked for now 😢, I will leave out the part about lake effect snow, to depressing, so where you were was looking good. And, breakfast for dinner, yum, it happens quite often here too. Keep living the dream and sharing the journey with your Trekkies 😎. Thoroughly enjoy all of it. Happy tails ❤️🐕👍
Dang your edits keep getting better and better! Slick transitions, night shots, front of van cam, and the inclusion of belly rubs with the Magpie, you’re setting the gold standard 🤩
Thanks Mike! Glad you noticed. Don't know about gold standard but it does seem I spend quite a bit of time "polishing" these days. BTW, you're the master of night/starlapses. Our 360 camera makes that pretty easy but man it takes the disk space to store the footage. Hope all is well with you 3. We'll see you soon.
That was fun! Always enjoy coming along for the ride. That night shot with the stars and music was awesome. I watch your videos with headphones so I get surround sound. It was like being in a movie theater. 😄 I don't mind snakes and understand the circle of life but I didn't like seeing that poor little frog struggle. Made my heart break a little but the snake has to eat too! If we folks who shop in a supermarket really knew how our chicken, meat and pork got on the shelf we'd probably never eat it again. The snake was hunting which is something I can't/don't do but admire and am thankful for people who do. You did try to warn us.😉
Interesting campground pine forest and swamp mix. We also use Google to seek out those great mom and pop places to eat. Wow I think I saw a happy dance so that must mean Owen's back is getting better....Happy Trails 🐕
Owen’s back it much better… and he’s back to doing a real happy dance. One of the best things about traveling is finding great mom & pop’s places to eat, and this was one of them.
Love lake Seminole. I live not far from there. I used to go more often when I had my boat. The cabins are real nice and the beach area is nice for a picnic. Watch out for gators, don't walk the dog too close to the water.
We never saw a gator but there were a lot of signs. It’s hard to keep Maggie away from the water but we kept a close eye on her and the water. Thanks for the warning.
Another great video. We really enjoyed this one as you were in the neck of woods where we used to live. Donalsonville was our home for over 8 years. I'm glad to see Seminole SP is slowly recovering after it was hit by Hurricane Michael several years ago. There seems to be more undergrowth on the trail system that what I saw the last time I was there a couple of years ago. Looking forward to your Stephen C. Foster video. Another great Georgia state park!
We came upon a timber rattler at Shenandoah NP and Ray was trying to get a good photo and getting too close🤪 And we wouldn't have saved the frog either. Gotta let nature run its course! Happy travels!
Beautiful Park! You had me snort laughing again; it’s a good thing I finished MY lunch before watching your video. Lynn’s right - a little bit of green would have been yummy on that Asian steak bites plate. Just a bit sautéed in the skillet would have been a nice touch and your innards would have appreciated it too lol. That snake was just doing what he’s meant to do, so it’s best just to let him enjoy his supper too. We’re all part of that big circle of life and I’m so glad you’re part of it too. Safe travels, stay well and a smooch for Maggie.
Great video! Great park and love how Maggie loves sleeping in her bed. She’s a very cute cuddly dog. I love dogs! Love how she talks to you! Love the fact you cooked two meals. They both looked good. I love asparagus. I heard Lynn say it. My eyes got wide open. Your shrimp at the restaurant looked good. Glad you left Atlanta where it was rainy and windy. What a nice park. Nice trails too! Thank you fir this video. Hope you had a great thanksgiving. Have a great week and see you soon!
I did have asparagus to go with the steak bites but I forgot them, it would have been a better meal with something green. Thanks so much for your comment, it is greatly appreciated.
Yep, looks like an old FL/GA campground. Pretty and natural, nice trails. Not a fan of snakes, but it's the circle of life, they have to eat too. Maggie had the right idea, chilling in the chair, so cute. 🙂👍
Hi guys! What a beautiful State Park. There seem to be lots of them. Imagine trying to hit every State Park in the United States? That would be a year of adventure after adventure and then some. Stay safe you two. Hi Maggie!!! Cheers 😙🥂😘
Woah make that a few years of adventures. There are over 6600 State Parks. And you have to stay at least one night in each. 6600 ÷ 365 = 18.08219 wow you better get a move on. 18 plus years. Cheers 😙🥂😘
Maggie has a huge fan base. My 4 yr old grandson Cassidy loves her. My daughter owns an animal rescue here in KY. So Cassidy loves all animals. That looks like a beautiful campground. And late Fall and Winter camping seems like a great time to visit. I'm sure being that far inland in Summer would be a mosquito nightmare. One place I for sure want to visit in GA is Helen, GA. It looks like an adorable little Bavarian town.
Did you see our video on Helen GA, we loved it there. The first night we were at Lake Seminole it’s was a little buggy, but with the cooler weather and the wind we didn’t have any problems the rest of the time. But I bet you are right it probably would be bad in the summer months.
We were pretty close to you. We broke our trailer tongue jack on Saturday 11/13 as we left TN where my tailgate froze up and decided to release itself on I-24 at the base of MT Eagle. We stopped at Camping Word to get a new Tongue Jack in Byron, GA, and then checked into Stephan Foster State Park off of I-75. We didn't come down sooner to avoid the Tropical storm in FL & GA, but our pause got us 4" of snow in S. IL as we watched hunters bagging deer at the Corp Of Eng Park at Rend Lake. We stopped at a Harvest Host in Manchester, TN Saturday night before heading toward you guys. Glad you were safe. I changed our tongue jack, this one with recessed switches to avoid the problem in the future, LOL. Now we are parked in Winter Haven for 4 months and are going on a 5-day cruise organized by the campground for March, LOL.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle We were at the FL Stephen Foster State Park, I didn't know there was one in GA, thanks for letting us know! Maggie would like the FL one too. It is very nice & level, but popular, right in the Suwannee river.
Hey brother. We are up here in Atlanta waiting on your next video. You all do a great job. Just a bit of advise. Never slow down and keep rocking on to see the world. I seen the world in the 80s when I joined the Army. I never have regretted it. Such wonderful memories. God Bless you two
Thank you so much for your comment. We still have a lot to see so for now we will keep going. It’s good to see what the rest of the world looks like, glad you had such wonderful memories.
Great Info and State park, We are staying in 2 SP in Georgia on our way home from Fla in April. It will be our first time camping in Georgia thought we would give it a try after watching your videos. The parks look great.
In the past the only time we stayed at Georgia SP’s was on our way to Florida, so it was fun to take our time and see different park of Georgia. Thanks for watching.
Lynn, once again, what a quality video. Week after week you guys do the best…. First job was in South Georgia. Thought people talked with a lisp, then learned they were spitting gnats out. Lots of bugs… we gotta go to lake Seminole. Miss you two! David and Juanita
Owen gets all the credit on the quality of the video’s… There were a few bugs the first night then it turned cold and windy which was not ideal but on the bright side there were not bugs. Miss you guys too.
That frog is a bufo or as some call them - a cane toad (poisonous) to ANYTHING that eats it, including the snake but you're right it is the circle of life. Some snakes are capable of distorting before the poision takes effect but sadly most are too intent on eating. I'm glad you showed real life events not a staged scene. Thank you for your real life videography! It's refreshing to see it for sure.
Enjoyed your Georgia videos, we stayed at fair harbor near Perry, Georgia and enjoyed it but as others have said…just getting from point A to Florida. Tell Maggie hi and do not save the snake’s prey or it could find you instead…lol
We’ll have to check out Fair Harbor sometime. Go point on the snake finding us, we both said it was a good thing is was eating the snake because it could have bitten Maggie.
You were right not to interfere with the snake’s dinner. Snakes gotta live too. I was in a similar situation once and of course the frog lost. Got some good pictures though.
Bringing out your eBikes reminded me I wanted to find out about Lynn’s bike seat. I’m looking for a split seat and wondering if she likes hers and if so what brand it is. Thanks we love watching you guys … and Maggie!
The bike seat is a Cloud-9 Cruiser Select Airflow Extra Soft Comfort Saddle. It’s in our Amazon store under “Bike Items”, here’s a link if you are interested www.amazon.com/shop/VanTrekkingLifestyle.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyleI think the link you sent is for your bike, Lynn’s looks very different and i am very interested if you have the info handy, you could just give me the brand and I can hunt it down. I really appreciate it.
@@kimkavanagh6136 Hi... It's Owen. They don't make the leather version of this or if they do it's not not Amazon. Here's the non-leather version of the one Lynn has: www.amazon.com/dp/B000AO9VJM?tag=onamzvantrekk-20&linkCode=ssc&creativeASIN=B000AO9VJM&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.1JODW05D5J3I0&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin
Beef tips over rice one of my favorites needs gravy and yes snakes are not my favorite wildlife, that be said if they stay away from me, I have no problem with them.
We have not done Cumberland Island, mainly because we can’t take Maggie and would take 1/2 the day and we don’t like leaving her that long. We’ve heard it’s beautiful and hope to go there someday.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle I understand, but Saint Mary’s is a wonderful little town (where the boat to Cumberland Island docks). And they have dog sitters. Just saying… not that you have any lack of wonderful experiences. P.S. it was great to see you guys finally hook up with Debbie and John.
We’re looking at camping here early next year. Maybe February or March. Not a fan of really chilly weather when camping. What month was this video made? Thanks for the restaurant suggestion and for all the info in the video!
That’s sad, glad we didn’t go. We were going to go to Stone Mountain SP, which several other people discouraged from going. So we didn’t feel like we missed much.
How many days in advance do you try and reserve state park campsites. Everyone talks about how difficult it is to reserve camping in Florida state parks? True or false?
It is very hard in Florida. Most of the time we try to reserve a week or two in advance. If you keep an eye on things you can grab someone cancellations.
I love Maggie’s dog bed!! We go to Key West for two months every winter and I would love to get one for our Mac! Can you tell me where you got it? Thanks!!
The bed is in our Amazon store in the “outside items” sections. Here’s a link to our store www.amazon.com/shop/VanTrekkingLifestyle or here’s the name “KingCamp Elevated Dog Bed Raised Dog Bed Dog Cot Outdoor” if you want to do a search. Maggie loves her bed… I wish we had gotten it for her sooner.
On Thursday we were only “inches” from ordering a new Ekko, but we decided to wait and see if we get lucky and find a used one. We were just a bit concerned about spending that much money on anything and not really knowing for sure when it would be delivered and exactly how much the final price would be. The biggest price unknown was the rate increase due to the ford chassis. Thanks for the videos and all the good info! Jim
Did y’all make reservations there or just show up. Heading out from Alabama tomorrow and that looks like a good stopping point. Hope I cross paths with y’all one day.
We had reservations for 2 nights and added 2 nights to the front of that online the night before. If I'm not mistaken I think all their reservations have to be done online "officially" but the office staff is really nice. You'll love it there if it's warm enough to enjoy the hiking and lake. Good luck.
I’m not sure where Owen picked up his hats but we have put a couple just like them in our Amazon store in the “Clothing Selections”. Here’s a link if you are interested www.amazon.com/shop/VanTrekkingLifestyle
Hi Beth. The one we have is the Thule EasyFold XT 2 Hitch Bike Rack. It's been a great rack for our heavy bikes and we've taken them all over and only had one incident with the rack failing, and that was Owen's fault for not fastening the latch around the bikes. But it is an expensive option for sure. Here's the link from our Amazon store: www.amazon.com/dp/B07954CY49?tag=onamzvantrekk-20&linkCode=ssc&creativeASIN=B07954CY49&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.1JODW05D5J3I0&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin
Just because a snake isn't a pretty dog or a fluffy bunny doesn't mean it isn't a part of, as you said, the circle of life. We are the ones intruding on their lives, not the other way around. If I read the stats correctly, only 5 people die of snake bites a year in the US. More people die from... not sharks (1 every 2 years), not alligators (1 every year), not bears (3 per year)... no. Cows kill about 20 people a year, pet dogs 30-50 per year, and the worst... the very worst... are... Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait for it... Deer. Yes. Deer. Between 120 and 200 people are killed by deer every year in the U.S. Well... enough boring stats. Wonderful video! 🤩Be seeing you!
Lynn is the same way about sailing. I really want to try that but she's very much against it. We have subscribers here whose spouse did not want to do this and after a few years was the one wanting to go. If you are going to go solo it makes it hard... to leave... on the marriage... you miss out when you're gone. But if you try to force her to love it... well, go slow. Maybe get her to watch us and others too and see what you see when you're out here doing it. Most of all.. good luck. We're glad you found us and wish you luck and happiness.
My ex in-law's had a black beagle mix named Maggie that would show me her teeth and wiggle her butt every time she saw me. She was a great hunter of rabbit also.
We agree on both accounts. We love the water... so peaceful and relaxing. The opposite of the snake encounter. You'd be really surprised the things who find our channel and really don't know us say to us. 😂
