Welcome to What Yacht To Do, a Great Loop Documentary. Today, Rev and Sam went from the Erie Yacht Club in Erie, Pennsylvania across Lake Erie to the Mentor Harbor Yachting Club in Mentor, Ohio.
We are cruising around America's Great Loop and selected a 1999 Carver 504 named the Here's To Us!! as our Great Loop boat. So much goes into Great Loop planning and we share every trip with you. Welcome aboard!

You guys just re-traced the journey of the absolute worst weather I ever experienced on the Great Lakes. I'd say it was the late 70s (I was a teenager) when we went from the Welland canal to Erie with seas running up to 8 feet and waterspouts on the lake. We broke a glass mirror in the salon. The next day from Erie to Mentor was just as bad as we pounded our way through head seas all day. Our whole family was sooooooo glad to get off the boat at Mentor YC with migraine headaches from all the pounding. After decades of boating all over the Great Lakes, those were the worst 2 days of weather.

@@WhatYachtToDo Yup. I recall that episode from Cleveland to Put-in-Bay and commented on it at the time. Lake Erie can be very tempestuous indeed.

Really enjoy your tube channel. I hope to fulfill this bucket list item. Your planning videos are very helpful, can see that pilot training and crew resource management in your daily routine. Hey guys! Great little voyage in today's video. I was sorta shocked when I heard Rev say the marine fuel price was $3.88gal👍🏼! Fueled up at Buc'ees in Terrel yesterday and the price of gas v. diesel was R-$3.42 & D-$3.69. In my lifetime, I've never witnessed a price separation between the two at $0.27 👀!

Hi! It would really depend on how fast you are travelling on the water and where in the upper peninsula. I'm thinking 10 days, but do look at our second loop map on www.WhatYachtToDo.com as we went that way on the second loop!

Hey guys. Love the channel. I watched last weeks episode and now this week's but I live in erie stayed at wolverine marina last year but im wondering when you were actually here and video's? Or did you record this month's ago and just now uploaded. Because gas is certainly not 3.88 a gallon and I don't think any boats are in the water yet this year 4/6/24

We always stay at Wolverine. Great location to town and all the fun places in the Harbor. Short trip from Ashtabula
