I try to play a lot of genres every time I pick up the guitar, like I use jazz scales for rock and stuff, all because I mixed it up a few times. I've got a metal-ish guitar that only cost £150 (don't know what it is in dollars) and its great. Fully recommend just mixing it up sometimes

@@Pip_Bearmetal guitars are some bomb ass guitars too, because of how big the genre is. There’s a lot of variety, compared to jazz guitars which are a little more reserved to traditional specs and styling. That said, my favourite is bastardizing traditional guitars for metal purposes (like Chris Garza’s custom Fender 7 strings)

So both guitars are playing the same riff, but one of them's playing it with out the last note so it's in 13/8 instead of 7/4 right? "I don't listen to music with wild time signature changes" The Mars Volta CDs sitting on your shelf: "Am I a joke to you?!" Seriously though, you guys all did an amazing job! Hearing a jazz guy play metal & a metal guy play the blues just makes me happy :) And Rotem was right: when you get right down to it, metal really is love \m/,

@@Omertahun nah… was more of a Blue Oyster cult thing if you listen to stuff like Vengeance the pact from Fire of an Unknown Origin you can hear it. Honestly if you haven’t gotten into Blue Oyster Cult other than Godzilla, burning for you, and (Don’t) fear the Reaper, I’d recommend listening to some of their B sides bc they’re a really good band that gets overshadowed by their own hits that really aren’t a great representation of their discography as a whole.

@@joshuapittman4663Agree! There is so much great BOC stuff that people don’t know. And their studio albums don’t do them justice. They really were an awesome live band. On Your Feet or on Your Knees is one of my favorite live albums (unfortunately the audio quality isn’t great).

Great and interesting video! Also loved Rotem's enthusiasm and joy of trying something so different to his usual stuff. Also you did great (IMO) with the different time signatures and also helped me a lot with showing the beat in the corner. Never really tried any of them except for 5/4 in Slash's Snakepit - What do you want to be. Great stuff!

I like music in the ''normal'' time signatures, I like listening to music where the beats make sense to my brain, but wow I loved your bit Sammy G. Sounded really cool, would've definitely added to my playlist had it been a full song.

FYI for the odd time signatures. Think in terms of phrases of 2 and 3. You put various groups of 2 and 3 together and it allows you to access all of the odd time signatures quite easily.

Rotem’s song sounded like it would fit right in on a Queens of the Stone Age album. I liked it the most. For round 2: since Stevie T hates Ed Sheeran so much, I’d love to see his serious take on a Top 40 pop song. I'd also love to see Bernth on a math-rock-style song. I'd also love to hear a hip-hop style on guitar from someone. These crossovers are always super fun. Editing to say that I’d love to hear a trap beat from Emily Hopkins, the harpist!
@ideitbawxproductions1880

Stevie T's biggest challenge: doing anything seriously. He actually did do an Ed Sheeran song for his "How To Be" series, and it was actually pretty damn good. And yes, anything with Emily Hopkins would be great! Her or Sarah Longfield, I'd be down with either... or both
