In this video i go over Moose Great One Grind suggestions and tips to make the grind as simple as possible! I thought of everyone who plays when i decided to setup this grind. I know that a lot of people are having issues with respawns and inconsistent zones. I believe setting up like this will absolutely help you stabilize your grind and make it much more efficient! Great vid! I can’t for the life of me find more than 190 moose drink zones in NE. How long do the drink indicators last after the 1600 end time? I've even checked known zones for indicators and there were none. So hard to run all that water and expect to find the moose in their zone when you happen to be there. So far 1100 kills,18 diamonds, and a few rares. I have 4 GO moose from 3 other maps.

It’s possible that you have a lower zone count. Like if you have a bunch of solos in the same zone sharing a drink zone. Or multiple herds in one drink zone etc.

Great video! Quick question, what time do you set when you go to the camp to start another rotation? I’m hunting wt on revontuli and I set at 8 when at the start of drinking time but the animals are never at the spots when I show up

The animals seem to be like that on every map honestly. But whitetail on Rev I set my time to 9:30. And also quick travel around to all my tents to wake up the zones.

Ooooh that’s how you get them to spawn. And I couldn’t get a clear answer but with WT I don’t have LVL 3s spawning yet so should I be shooting LVL 1s out of my shooter zones

Quick question: How do you decide which red deer to shoot in a shooting-zone? I currently have four 8s with some 4/5/6s in one of my zones. Do I keep shooting the lower ones or do I take out some of the 8s aswell?

Awesome video! At one point you mention you’re only setup on 8 zones total. Later you mention setting up on 16 zones. B/c of the low trophy score for GO Moose, does the non-herd management approach still work? Pick 8 of your best herd zones and shoot any male that spawns on them?

So I started on 16 zones. One shooting tent. Then proceeded to shoot down 8 of the zones I didn’t like. As one of them got down to level 2 bulls, I would pull my tent and use it for a collection tent at one of my other zones. I did that until I got to 8 zones. Main thing is finding herds with massive 3s and 4s in them. And shooting those.

@@ibuypremiums Ah I see. But don’t mess with any solos, you just got down to your last 8 herd zones and work those, no stacking needed. Thanks for explaining! It’s interesting how each GO species grind has its own quirks.

@@bendrummerk Absolutely, i mean really you can do it with any species. The only reason that i ever did stacking and things like that was because i wanted more chances at spawning super rares. And, you dont have to do any stacking for that even. Im just a grinder, and choose to turn it up! lol the main focus when hunting any GO species is finding and shooting your big max weight estimate animals. If you can do that, and do it well.. You will get Great trophies!

I could. But instead I’m going to do a video geared towards what type of zones I look for, and how I setup on them. So you can take that and find zones and setup on your map. All our zones are different. I feel like core setup guide is what’s needed.

When you are stacking in order to shoot down a zone as an example you have a shooter zone with a 5 and a 2… so you leave the 2 for now to hell spawn bigger in a different zone or so you shoot it to move it out of the zone if it’s a shooter as a place holder it’s doing nothing? Thoughts

The shooter zone you are trying to stack in you will shoot the 2 out of it. Because you want that respawn to go out to one you are trying to shoot down. So you can shoot bigger males from exterior zones. Basically trying to swap the spawns around.

@@ibuypremiums that’s what I assumed. Got all my zones shot down except like 16 on Medved… but then all my shooters turned into 2’s, so now I may get it down to 8 zones and just shoot both 2’s on most zones. I was leaving them and I think at this point in the grind it was slowing things down.

I used tents for zones on the river that had big bulls. But they aren’t required. The river running is an interesting hunt. Some parts are to deep to cross, so tents help for those.

I need your advice on something please. I'm trying to do this great one grind on layton and it's been successful in that I've got about 40 or do diamonds out of it but I'm down to two working herds ALL the rest have does in them. I have scoured this map from top to bottom there is NO level ones (the very tiny rack bucks) They are ALL does..Does it mean my grind has failed? I don't know what to shoot now. I've basically come to the end of the rope. What would you do? I don't really want to reset as I adore this map and have all the missions and everything single square inch unlocked Thank you.

Are you basically only grinding the lakes and not the rivers and any tips for my grind on medved I’ve herd managed down to about 8-12 zones and they have a hard time respawning is there something I can do to move that process along

I grind the lakes and rivers. Wherever the level 3+ bulls are at. I just focus on herds. The respawns just come in late sometimes. If a zone isn’t there in my rotation I will skip it, and then go back at the end of there is time left in that drink time.

Hi! You might remember i wrote a comment about inconsistent respawns, now my problem is fixed, ig i just had a couple of zones missing and now respawns are at my zones every time i do my rotation. Im grinding on Yukon, and have decided not to do HM. So far im about 500 kills in, with 6 diamonds, 4 rares (got 2 piebalds yesterday) and 3 trolls, and waiting for the g1. Will there be a guide for Yukon? Keep going!

I will be doing Yukon as well. Not for a little bit, since I am shooting for a g1 on MedVed. There are so many zones, HM is a ton of work to do on these maps for moose. You have a good dime rate, I’m glad your grind stabilized. Thanks, looking forward to getting more content up here!

So could I just stick to 16 of my best zones and only rotate through them for the whole grind or do I need to shoot every or most zones and do I have to stack herds?

You can definitely just stick to the 16. Just make sure you get setup on the zones with big 3s and 4s. And you should be good to go as long as you are getting respawns consistently.

You mentioned that you think shooting a 3 has the potential based on estimate to spawn in a g1. My question is since you have over 110 G1’s what’s your current belief that helps spawn them? Trophy rating, weight class or level?

Love this. I'm doing my whitetail grind on New England currently. For my first ever Great One. I'm 1600 kills in and I've admittedly had to tweak it as I go. But I did notice how so many of my moose zones correspond with my whitetail ones, so in theory I guess it wouldn't take much to change a few things around and turn the whitetail setup into a moose setup. Saves some time lol! Was thinking of trying Medved or Yukon when I do a moose grind, but with this we may just stay on the NEM (it's one of my favorite maps, so beautiful, but admittedly can be a bit challenging to grind compared to some other maps). Thanks for all your tips and advice!

When you're looking for your zones - are you going during their drink times or after or both?

I go during their drink time. I always set my time to 12:30 in game. Sometimes they do come in a little later though.

So if I apply and use this same strat on Med Ved I just pick 8 zones (on herds), slowly HM them down to 2's and lower, and not bother with managing solos at all? And you shoot the small 2's because you can essentially push that male out of that zone permanently? Or whats the purpose of you shooting your 2's? Thank you in advance!

I don’t mess with solos at the start. I focus on herds. If you shoot solos and herds at the same time, you can potentially have a large respawn bounce to a solo. Does that make sense? The purpose of shooting 2s is keeping you main shooting zones as shooting zones. You should follow me on twitch, it would be easier to explain in stream I think.

I know you've said on whitetail you leave 1 male and 1 female per zone. Does that apply for moose if you only have 1 male in the herd that's a lvl 3 or higher?

I shoot them on moose. Some herds for moose are 1 bull and like 2-3 cows.

I just find zones that have a good herd in them, and it’s pretty clear area to have open shooting lanes. Also think about tent and stand placement with possible retrieval tents.

I have setup on about 10 zones, and no bulls are respawning. I shot maybe 6 moose at other herds around the map before starting the grind, would this have messed respawns up? I think I got the ball rolling but if u have any tips lmk.

Not shooting the solos is the 1 animal zones. Also, if a zone is all bulls. They are solos as well, just stacked on one drink zone.

I havent noticed a need to stack for moose. Unless you have a lot of big solos that need shot down. But That was not an issue at all for me on New England. So i just setup on zones after finding all my zones and started rotating.
