Also I feel that this years zombies is kind of a beta test for black ops zombies so they can improve and have less problems at launch just my lil thought
Can we just get a full $70 call of duty zombies game. Every map remastered & every season we get one new round based map & one new outbreak/mw3 style mode or map
In the bo3 era maybe this would have been possible, but zombies isn’t anywhere near being popular enough for activision to allow them to make a zombies only game.
@@fentolix5973if they make a CALL OD DUTY ZOMBIES game with every remastered map. Yes it would because even if u only played or like one zombie map back in the days guess what you got it. The only problem would be the guns.
Videos like this are really valuable to me right now because I’m older than I was when I started watching zombie walkthroughs and whatnot. I don’t have the time I used to as a teenager. Listening to long and thought out reviews and analysis like this give me the chance to think about zombies and spend time with it like I used to, and it helps me chose how I can engage with what limited time I do have. Thanks Milo, it makes a big difference.
@alz397 the group that grew up on cod zombies og have grown up and have jobs now, these new games are targeting a completely diff extreme adhd generation, every few mins they need objectives and constant rewards, og zombies formula of just go till high round isn't in that style even if it's better
I feel like a good medium would be to give players an extra half hour or hour to do stuff. It gives us a little more time to do things, but it also still creates the different experiences of experiencing all the different zones.
It feels so good to hear you mention the void of character in this mode now. The operator system is one of the biggest reasons the story Carrie’s no weight anymore.
Fucking love your self awareness and overall awareness around where the zombies community is and how candid you are about it. Big breath of fresh air having an honest review.
I also think an improvement would be as the timer goes down the zombie population increases another idea I have is increase the the timer to maybe 3 hours. Every hour the zones change. After the 1st hour the grey zone also becomes orange no more grey zone at the end of the 2nd hour the whole map is red and in the 3rd hour the gas begins to spread the map would be more interesting and dynamic. Or combine both ideas lol. What do y'all think?
Milo - I'm at the 35:45 minute mark, and this is 100% why I love you for ALL my zombies content. When I first saw an hours and a half, I was like "Oh come on, really?", but here I am, 1/3 of the way through it, and 100% appreciating all the thought you have put into what & why you're saying what you are. In the end, I know this is just a game and some people take it far too serious - but for you, it's more than that - this 'game' affects your channel, your viewership, your reputation among the community - and I appreciate that you take it so seriously. I'm going to finish this video now, but just had to take a quick minute to share my thought - hope you see it. You're fantastic sir & I greatly appreciate your hard work on this channel and for the zombies community. 🙂
I've been watching you for what feels like 10 years now and, well, where the fuck would we be as a community without this man. You're a goddamn inspiration
Honestly how do you and some of the other big Zombies channels not have a collaborative podcast yet? A zombies themed podcast where you spend an hour or so going through all the aspects of zombies, news on zombies and reminiscing on the old maps would honestly be great to listen to.
@@NOBODY-cn6fj that's crazy lmao....you know what, if he is, that's the ultimate respect because in this world, everyone fucks anyone...and it's disgusting
Milo I love this style of video. I’m excited when you release these. I listen to them while I’m driving to work, making my breakfast, even before I got to sleep. They aren’t all as involved visually so I can do other things at the same time. It lets me keep up with you more.
Ever since the patch, in all tiers, I've been having to run around to look for zombies and it's really tedious but I swear pre patch no matter where I went there was lots of zombies
i feel like the map is too big. back in older games, tight corrodors made a small amount of zombies seem much larger and threatening. But when you have giant spaces you can dodge them and go around way to easy
Don't doubt your creativity man! I absolutely love the different ways of thinking your videos address and how the breakdown makes you consider things most others wouldn't mention and it for me personally makes the breakdown more personal and immersive! Keep up the good work man, love the content as always 🙌
Growing up i wouldnt have even thought about clicking on these kinds of videos cause i just wanted to find videos that had action, comedy and nothing but old zombies content.. but nowadays i absolutely love when you make videos like this cause this in my opinion is the best kind of feedback you can give to the zombies community whether we like to hear it or not (I personally love it cause i dont like the turn zombies has taken over the years, especially now)
I got some thoughts 1.remove the timer but as time goes on make each higher tier grow like tier 2 will encompass zone 1 then zone 3 will encompass all of the map. 2. The problem I have with the zombies is they don’t give enough points I want to play zombies for zombies so I would say let us get more points for killing zombies but let the contracts have higher risk/reward. IMO I hate killing hoards of zombies and get nothing for it besides xp/camo grind. 3. I don’t know if anyone has the same opinion on the fast zombies but holy dam I find it hard to get away front them to reload or put on armor slow them bitches down a little. 4. I would like to keep the rarity of weapons when you leave so let us keep the rarities but make the epic and legendary extremely harder to get. Those are the only problems that I have atm other than that i have a lot of fun
13:17 I personally wouldn’t sit in a match for 3 hours because in the 1 hour we do have I’ve filled my backpack with the loot that I want to take out with me. If we could get bigger packs than large then I might stay longer but as it stands, once I’m full on loot and finished whatever challenges I’m working on I get out and prep for the next challenge
One section I think you could have is wonder weapons. It’s ray gun and wunderwaffe returning then the new scorcher. And while it looks cool I feel like there’s no point in trying to get it. Like classic zombies and it’s Easter eggs would have a new wonder weapon and you would have to farm the mystery box to get the wonder weapon to do some weird step in the Easter egg. While in MWZ I don’t think you can call the missions an Easter egg but it is the main story, there is no point where you need to get any wonder weapon and use. Only at the end you extract with the wunderwaffe plans but you never use it. Even if they had a mission that was super hand holding that was kill 100 zombies with the scorcher or ray gun or wunderwaffe that would be an improvement. But as it stands now there is no point in getting them other than to have them and I haven’t even tried to go find them myself yet and I’m halfway through act 2. To your point with devils advocate and treyarch’s overall goal of getting new people, new players don’t want to sit at the box and farm the wonder weapons just to use it for the last 10 min and not get the challenge and have to do it again. That would push people away from completing the entire story, so I see why they didn’t. I just feel like that was always a key part of these wonder weapons and the story Easter eggs that made me want to go and get these new wonder weapons. As it stands right now I don’t have any desire to go find the scorcher and use it and that was a big miss. I do hope they change it in the upcoming seasons as well as what you have mentioned to make us care more about the story and the weapons and the environment and etc. Overall I don’t hate the game mode, but it’s not classic zombies by any means either. It does have a lot of potential tho and am excited to see where they take it this year
For the story of the dark aether, I don’t like seeing campaign characters in zombies. It seems off and weird seeing them play a role in zombies, characters like Soap, Laswell, and Zharkov from MW, and Weaver and Kravchenko from Cold War. It just doesn’t fit in with the zombie story.
Disagree. This actually makes it feel like it's ''real'' in the universe. If this wasn't the case, you'd be wondering why the team that can seemingly achieve anything in campaign isn't called on a threat like this.
What if for the time limit problem, they introduce a filter for exfil vs no exfil. No exfil won't require a time limit, but doesn't have any of the DMZ stuff like weapons, crystals, etc. Spawn in with a pistol like base zombies and make it like a mix between outbreak and round based, make more zombies spawns, boss spawns, more wall weapons and cash flow, and the longer you're in, the harder and the more zombies spawn in until you're overwhelmed
I remember in blackops 1 after all the story we had to figure out and put together that after all the things our 4 man crew went through that they eventually ended up blowing up earth, that shock factor of standing there and watching the missles slowing going to earth was eerie, not only that but we had 2 years to sit on that and speculate where zombies was going from there and the amazing story telling they did from there on out was phenomenal... I really miss the days of old when zombies had that. Sure coldwar was lime a good 7.5/10 on my zombies ranking and you could tell it still had its identity, but with mwz I just feel like it's a stale version of dmz without the fun pvp aspect of it not only that but like milo said there's no charisma no zombies theme per say. It's all just warzone with slightly diffrent hues and old assets scowered across the map. It's sad really, I miss the aesthetic of zombies I miss the comradery and good times in zombies it just feels so hollow now, sure mwz is better than vanguard but what does that really say? It's like comparing a pile of shit to another pile of shit and ones just less stinky than the other :/ I was 12 when i played nacht for the first time, I'm 28 now and I've seen a lot and I just hope the younger generation knows there's been better and we can all strive for a better experience moving forward
Going back and playing Cold War zombies is very weird for me lol. It feels like theyve been evolving zombies to this point on purpose. Like this is how Treyarch genuinely wants zombies to be
Idk they changed sm it happens after blundel left and bo4 something’s going on behind the scenes or it’s maybe just there are new devs that don’t understand how old zombies was which doesn’t make sense bc all they really need to do is listen to the community. Cold War was vary mid to me compared to old zombies and even bo4 it’s boring and to ez with no depth and a trash story and extremely mid maps the gameplay was good it was fun but that’s it
I personally love this mode. I’ve met a lot of cool people, very minimal toxic moments. I love that I can go in and do things the way I want or help people accomplish their goals.
1. Bump timer up from 45 minutes to an hour 2. Introduce a day/night cycle with weather and things like night vision goggles, thermal equipment, etc. 3. Every season, have a new Act for the story along with a new easter egg. These are some easy ways to retain players and improve the experience without having to rework major systems which they likely won't do anyway.
I really hope they implement mid game events. As in during a match a raid boss event could spawn randomly, or a group can do a easter egg that summons it, maybe you have to collect pure refined aetherium across the map in diffferent areas, load a special array device that launches a special aether rocket in the air that detonates, it gets announced to the whole server as the storm thickens and like a super aether worn burrows out of the ground in the open area of zone 3. It can be seen all the way into tier 2 and the whole lobby is tasked in taking it down (its size allowing it to be fought and shot all the way from tier 2 intices people to fight it as the engagement range is huge. The size means it can some amazing power attacks. Would really feel like what the devs were on about when they said boss that required the whole lobbies (and what I kinda imagined when they originally said it)...
@@MrRoflWafflesIs it time for an IW Zombies retrospective yet? I’ve been really getting into it the past few weeks and appreciating the unique direction it took (even though community sentiment was pretty bad at the time) and it would be very interesting hearing your honest thoughts and breaking it down into different segments like you did in this video.
@@MrRoflWaffles honestly, I had some thinking time with this, and I’m not quite sure. As long as you’re passionate about it, I’m sure it’ll be interesting. Sorry I couldn’t give any proper ideas!
Definitely keep making these! I love just listening to these long zombies videos while I’m working. I appreciate it. Also totally agree with your opinion. As someone who got into zombies with Outbreak, I’m really enjoying this new mode. While I also enjoy round-based zombies as well, I prefer the more laid-back open world modes.
Same i like to listen while working. I enjoy mwz to be honest im in love with it. I stopped playing cod after 2019 so its pretty fresh to step into a new zombies experience for me imo.
Bro I’ve been binging your channel after trying out MWZ and wanting to know all the juicy details. I was pleasantly surprised by the flow and feel of it. I’ve been a big fan of zombies since black ops 1….I remember playing with my older brother after getting it for my birthday in November of 2010. Round based is always going to have a place in my heart and I hope they remake the theater map in an upcoming update someday! What’s cool about MWZ is that it’s completely different than round based…but it’s allowed me and my brother to have nights like we used to way back in the day…zombies in any form is a place I like to be. Keep up the success man!
@@azteka6103 you wanna explain why you are so against the word “bro”? But in line with how you like talking to people…”Never tell people what they should and shouldn’t do like you matter…even a little bit…” it just makes you appear like the one holding the L
To be honest. I am enjoying the mode, however I would enjoy it much more if I could launch into a map solo. I just don't like being around other players, having them interrupt my contracts or snipe the ones I'm going for. If we could launch outbreak solo, which is just infinite generating maps, why can't we launch the same map here solo. :\ I'd move it from a 6/10 to a 8/10 experience immediately if I could just. Play. Alone.
Specifically referring to the problem of operators and operator skins in zombies: Imagine a system where they had the 4 core zombies playable characters, and for each one there was a release skin ("base" skin), and then from there you could opt to purchase skins to modify the characters appearances, but the characters stayed the same so they could play a meaningful part in the story. I mean, I can come up with a handful of ways to allow player expression in this way as well. For example, you could come out with a new free skin for each operator on the release of a new map (so each character has a "map themed" skin that fits with the environment of the map, if you want that), then if you complete the easter egg on a map you get a modified version of that map's skin that you can use. Hell, while we're at it why not split "skins" up into different aspects so you can put on different parts from different skins, too. Like I'm putting on this helmet from the Shadows of Evil map, but my pants are the easter egg pants for Shi No Numa, and my shirt is from a skin pack I bought. Then you can select which of the 4 zombies characters you want to play and each one has its own customized skin that you built from either "free" skins, unlockable skins, or purchased skins. But all the while the characters you play as can still have a meaningful impact on the story and have quotes actually relevant to what's going on, so you actually feel like you're IN the story, not just watching it.
That’s just not realistic, the old core audience who has mostly left now longs for the old style of map. Then you’ve got people that specifically like the outbreak type design on top of this new type of zombies which if we are honest is not what most people wanted. Sure it’s acceptable but the decline in player numbers says everything about how this cod as a whole is being viewed, zombies is just one facet of the issue.
@@allistairkumaran3582 ive come to acknowledge and recognize we arent gonna get traditional rbz every year, and that makes everything not feel like a total let down.. id consider myself an “old core fan” as i remember playing WaW campaign and getting horrified by Nacht- the rest was history. however i had a blast with outbreak (still prefer traditional) but i got 100% seasonal challenges, 100% intel, and dark aether. outbreak was pretty refreshing and fun, especially at the end of its development. with that being said, i was skeptical but went into MWZ open minded, and was blown away (still could use some work) but at the end of the year with more things added itll be awesome! also- player counts were the highest in outbreak zombies since a long long while. people ARE playing zombies- i just wish the community would at least try and make the best of what were given each year
@@natekaufman7746 While I agree and hope people are willing to at least give it a chance I think you are more mature then most of the cod community. I’m 30 so I know how the game goes, happens with bands and directors for movies. People/things change and most fans view it as a sleight instead of a genuine change of heart. Hope you enjoy your time with the new zombies format, I enjoyed the chat.
57:58 I’m about halfway through act 3 right now and I think the missions are a good method for teaching new players how the game works, since a lot of the missions are forcing you to use certain field upgrades, ammo mods, etc. I’m thinking (and hoping) that maybe the later seasons missions will have much more specific tasks to do. They also encourage completing different contracts and I think if they weren’t in place most people would immediately fall into the meta of do a cargo contract, do another cargo contract, do another one, just because it’s the fastest and easiest for getting points. And the other half are doing mainly the weapon stash and outlast to do camo grinds
DMZ needs to take notes from Tarkov & other extraction games by making it meaningful to extract with a better load-out. No timer means more time in the tier 3 zone risking your load-out too, high stakes missions are enjoyable so there has to be meaningful items you can lose by not extracting with them.
timer really kills it, but unfortunately due to the mode being based off of DMZs engine as well as the high player count (24 or something idk) I think it will be very hard for them to make the mode unlimited UNLESS they make it possible to play solo offline or a squad ONLY not public match. Which they probably wont do
Do you think making it so that killing zombies rewards you more essence might resolve the issue? It’ll speed up the pace of a match since you’ll have more essence and can purchase necessities much quicker to move on to harder tiers.
I think the time limit should be in place for public matches but if you infil in a privite mode you and your squad can extend the timber by say 5 minutes per completed contract mission allowing you to spend longer if you choice so
The thing about the gameplay loop is if you have a t2 pack a punch crystal and a three man team you can get into tier 3 area in 10 mins depending on where you spawn and contract luck. But it is pretty stressful and not a way of playing which I enjoy doing every run. Edit: the schematics system feels broken cuz the balance between the amount I’ve gotten it t2 areas is a lot more than in the t3 area. Also some of the missions, like the energy mine one is a pain and feels unnecessarily exaggerated.
The missions should be open for each unlocked act instead of having to just pick one at a time, would make more sense. So you can naturally obtain each mission request as you play.
I hope, now that Microsoft owns Acti-Blizz, we can get a Zombies mode that had the dark and gritty story-telling of WaW and BO1, and a mixture of gameplay elements and big maps from Black Ops 2 and 3, with customizable weapons and probs an improved Gobble-Gum system. We could even get Black Ops 4’s original campaign as well! MW3 2023 is a questionable bundle, but I think the multiplayer is still decent.
I think what could help is not changing the timer in the match but letting us keep our PAP and color of weapon and not needing to restart that every single match unless you lose all your weapons which some people do quite often.
In terms of the boss, which I just fought last night and thought it was absolutely sick, I do agree that it was a little weak in the fight, but if the rumour is true that it'll eventually become a world boss, I believe that'll change. If it's anything like Diablo for example, it was basically the same, regular bosses were relatively easy to kill but come their world boss form for everyone to fight together, they were tanky as absolute hell and it would take the entire server to take it down if you weren't overpowered. So if that happens, I'll be satisfied.
These longer more in depth videos I truly love, hearing everything get broken down into categories helps me to keep my opinion open and just listen and it allows me to collect my own thoughts about it. Milo you are very well spoken and with these in depth videos it’s easier to understand it from a different point of view than my own. Ml About the radios, hearing the way the newer ones are structured it really seems like there more closed ended almost like statements which leaves very little room for curiosity and interest whereas the older ones were like here’s this thing that you know nothing about + very little information about said thing, but it truly is the structure and the way they wrote the old radios that made it more inviting and pulling you in and giving you so many more questions about what was really going on.
As a casual gamer who gets to play about two matches of Zombies after work, the setting up each match is becoming really, really tedious, and the main reason I'm stuck in Act 3 at the moment, it's such a mission preparing to enter the red zone.
I appreciate you making this video and breaking everything down in depth so we can make our own thoughts/opinions from the information given out. I hope the community try change and adapt as the game we enjoy changes and adapts also.
With the new squads system in DMZ then need to implement some way to compete with another squad like maybe an area where pvp is active or like this stadium where u can enter into a grief match with another squad and just try to out survive them
the longer the video the better. i think most of us that watch these arent solely watching the video, but playing a game and listening mostly, and its great. kinda like a podcast
@@MrKing-he3eothe whole point of the comment section, is for viewers to discuss the contents of the video…. So it is stupid that people go to bitch and moan in comments before even seeing Milo’s opinion because they just want to make eveyone feel like shit for liking a game
@@Antagonist115 Never said that they shouldn't discuss. I was just saying you can comment as long as you played the game/watched enough and can give constructive crititsm on it or say what you liked or disliked instead of saying "L" or "mid"
They should get rid of the timer, however, after an hour or so the tier 2 & 3 should start to consume the lower tier over the 15 minutes you would usually have to beat the gas until the whole map is tier 3 (or maybe even throw a tier 4 in that concept). That way its totally up to you whether you want to extract before it is too difficult for you or risk it all and see how long you can survive in tier 3
I would remove the time and remove the aquisitions. Make it so that you can only take out scematics with beefier cooldowns. Meaning for the most part, you can be a slower player but still set up and not being able to spawn in with full loadouts with tier3 PaP weapons and max perks every game meaning the low end zone has its purpose. Also schematic timers should only count down while inside the mode to avoid the instant powercap you can have if you were to just log off and play the next day. (I heard the wonder weapons have stupid cooldowns so make them a bit more toned down)
For the radios it should be a sec test achievement for a banner, have it be a cool zombies call back like maybe a Samantha face covered in aether mist to remind us she’s still supposed to be involved as well as giving casual players who just want to collect everything a reason to do it and give everyone another reason to make videos. I truly miss those videos, watching you guys got me through some of the lowest points of my life, and it feels recently all these old games are just getting butchered for profit
Mostly agree but that Audio Log take is a bit odd, story needs to be built out so the game feels like it has depth & that is supposed to make its way back into the level design. Still “I can’t tell you yet” doesn’t build out the story’s universe. Logs are supposed to give them a place to develop a deeper story for the purpose of it feeling like a coherent experience being driven by unchanging forces outside of your understanding (because the same story is being developed so it feels like each map has meaning & is a crucial part of some grand experience; MWZ feels like it doesn’t care if our operator is there or not despite the gameplay being fun when you stick together with your friends.
My only problem with MWZ is the stash, I think the stash size should be MUCH larger. I would have a lot of fun grinding to fill a stash with tons of perks, aether tools, etc.
I also need to say, it’s crazy to me that three companies who have all made at least one objectively good zombies experience can’t work together here. BO3, IW, and WW2 were this like pinnacle of zombies experience that wasn’t able to be followed up on post BO4. I would love to have Milo do a lil series where he does this same thing with non Treyarch experiences like IW and WW2 and see if we can’t find a paradigm to grow and expand on.
After going in a game and being set up in the 3rd zone in the first 10 minutes, the mode would get stale if it wasn’t for the timer. Now, I do think that the timer needs to be at least 15 minutes longer to give you one hour without the storm growing.
heres an idea so increase the timer to 3 hrs 1st hr is teir 1 2 and 3 when it comes to the 2nd hr it jumps to tier 4 5 and 6 and hr 3 your armor is removed and it jumps to teir 7 8 and 9 what do you think ??
@MrRoflWaffles how about every 10 minutes the entire world from the initial zone base gets a 20% zombie HP increase and boss spawn chance increase by 10% that way you have a linear increase of difficulty the entire game. You could even make this “hardcore” mode and bump the drop rates for rare schematics and have its own array of rewards(camps, operators, and gamer related rewards)!
I think an awesome video for you to make Milo would be a list of your favorite zombies radios ever and what they mean and why they’re important. I feel like that would be so dope to watch.
@MrRoflwaffles rather than extending the timer in MWZ I think that they should offer a schematic that can be crafted for extended play time. Perhaps it would be craft-able every 72 hours and it could provide a 3 hour session. I think that setup would provide a balanced experience for everyone
did anybody find the bunker with weaver and crews bodies, from intro cut sceen?????? wasnt it suppose to be in center of outbreakzone where zakieve threw the vial. has no 1 found bunker????
To me, MWZ is really freaking amazing. If we could get a healthy balance of updates to this mode and new round based maps, then it would be the best version of zombies IMO.
I think they should keep the timer but instead of radiation coming in, the red zone should expand. It would make more sense and make it harder to extract etc and you could spend as long as you want in the game.
I'd like to mention something to do with the art direction, more specifically the player HUD. The HUD used to be stylised for the zombies mode, back in BO1 and onwards up until cold war. The HUD consisting of the players total points, the ammo count, perks, round counter, and maybe special ability. In BO2 and 3, each map had its own HUD style and art. Now in cold war and mwz, it just looks like it was copied from multilayer or warzone, taking away that extra flair for zombies.
@ 13:56 I totally agree, I think it would definitely get stale faster because you’ve already got everything you wanted basically. An unlimited amount of time would be terrible. I would say instead of 45 minutes maybe make them an hour and 30
About the timer , IMO just have a game mode where you have a time limit , but also just do an unlimited time mode . And both groups of players would be satisfied
That was a great start to the video! I’ve been watching you since I was a kid man and I feel like I’ve grown up with you in a sense you have always been my go to for zombie videos. But you handled that so well, us as an audience don’t get questioned enough. If more content creators were just more honest about their shit we would probably get better games and us as an audience need to forget those biases in order for these developers to get a better vision. It’s the people that pretend the game is amazing every single year because of its name that allow the developers to keep producing the same stuff. If we want a better game we need to start being honest about these releases. P.S I haven’t played mw3 zombies so I’m not specifically talking about this game not being good. But I know being a hard core zombies fan this is definitely not the gameplay I want to be looking for.
Something that may be worth noting, but I have been looking online a lot at game dev positions (as it is something I do). And there has been a good amount of positions relating to treyarch zombies over the past few years. We had our whole Vanguard incident and I believe that was the start of a newer zombies team who were still getting into the flow. Although this still has its flaws and its own side branch to the zombies experience (if the round based for the treyarch main game are true). It is showing a positive upswing in how zombies is being handled. There has been improvements in so many areas with a lot of the negatives being more related to the alternate gameplay which again, is more of a preference thing rather than it being straight up bad. But with this I am optimistic that they can deliver a solid product this year after the first few seasons or tweaking issues and streamlining the gameplay and adding more content. But more importantly, I am hopeful for a solid round based experience in 2024, probably not BO3 levels of solid as I think thats a diamond in the rough. But 2024 zombies could hold its own in the round based ring, and again be a stepping stone for perfecting the new round based experience. Just like how BO2 was a large stepping stone and learning experience that created Bo3, cause BO2 zombies had a lot of bad systems that BO3 took and upgraded and improved.
I remember when you would make zombie videos between your uni classes and exams. And you can see your dedication and education come through when you dig into the psychological side of things, like the "do you want me to hate it or love it" thinking before diving into your analysis 😂 it's impressive
My friend and I have always been huge zombies fans and we’re loving mwz, but the short timer is really the thing that makes this feel like such a different game than the old zombies. I think instead of gas expanding, the tier 3 difficulty zone should expand until it fills up the map. That way it is still pushing people out of the game, but those who want to stay in for the challenge can play for longer than 45 minutes in a round. Then maybe they increase mini boss spawn rates, hellhounds, etc. to keep the challenge increasing in a single match until you’re essentially forced to exfil or lose. I feel like this is a much better balance between the new feel of the game and the old round based zombies we all love.
I wish mw3 added bonus points for long shots like Cold War outbreak did. Especially when you can stand 15 stories high on a rooftop and snipe the zombies on the ground.
Milo have you played DMZ? In that mode they reset people´s progress multiple times. It´s a thing in Escape from Tarvok too, called ¨Wipes¨ which they do a couple times a year while pushing big updates. Here in MWZ they might do the same, given it's an extraction shooter & given it happened in DMZ back in 2022 multiple times. Honestly I cannot enjoy the mode if I know all I'm doing will get reset when season 1 / season 2 arrives. It sucked in DMZ, it'll suck here too. And remember this mode is $70, DMZ was fully free (and both are similar modes)
I actually do enjoy the timer BUT just slightly longer would be nice. It is probably because i spend most of my time setting up and helping people that others will not pick up. I feel like 15 more minutes would be nice cause I wait til the last 5 minutes to exfil and even then I wish I had a tad more time to have fun with my build. Or let us exfil within the Aether Storm, maybe not the helicopters, like if you want to stay you need to use the bunker in tier 3 to exfil as a "punishment" for wanting to stay. It'll have the rush as exfiling had when there was mass waves of zombies before patch. I also do hope there is more story points. I tried to find the radios but in the end im just gonna look it up. I'm taking this first part as an intro and hope that either next season or the following has a more linear story tellings. Kind of like how DMZ has Building 21, if zombies got an area that can shove more lore at us I would love that. More characters talking to us on the radio, with more bits of story when briefing us on the contract. Or theres radios or papers or something we can find easier in this 2nd area. I have fun "roleplaying" with my gf and friends why we are doing the things we are doing in the map but itll be cool to have actual lore. I hope the game and story doesnt get stale. Granted I'm still in act 1 cause I work long hours.
Compared to other peers, I brought up COD BO4 Alpha Omega for a play session just for the voice acting and story telling. I listened to one or two radios, and I was reminded of how awesome this map was for the voiceovers. The writing was amazing. I remember playing that map over and over again, even though many thought the gameplay on that map was lacking--even though the map was a rehash of nuketown.
My biggest irritation with zombies is the constant crashes and losing your loot and builds and be punished for an hour of not using your guns because of it
Can we agree that having our vehicle stolen when trying to complete a bounty by someone random in the vicinity is frustrating. Can’t they implement a way to prevent non party members have access to it ? Idk
I can agree with the staleness but heres a counterpoint id like to bring up, in a world of no timers would we need schematics? As well the cost of death is greater i find that regearing in a limited time frame kinda sucks and at any point in that time you can make a mistake making it harder next time. As well i would say that a cure to staleness with an infinite timer would be make loot-able things in the world more appealing and meaningful. I mean truthfully if they would just for once copy tarkov make it so out of game upgrades come from fetch quests like im getting my final stash increase from a vender but he wants an item that is a rare spawn in the T3 zone, i would need to now go search that area throughly and extract with it and i can risk some gear from my stash to save me time but also not feel wasted if i dont find it with in those 45 minutes. A lot of the issues with the mode are resolved with manufactured solutions. I mean do you know how much time people are wasting in a game waiting for convoys to spawn and if you dont get one thats 45 minutes wasted doing nothing. I havent progressed and it creates a negative feedback loop that just sucks when it doesnt have to be that way. Same with farming schematics, I am wasting my time if i dont get it but i need it so once every couple of days i can actually effectively farm for 45 minutes. Its just not a genuinely fun system to interact with.
Another problem I think is the timers on the blueprints. We payed for the game and it feels like a free to play even though we spent up to 100 dollars. DMZ was free so it made sense to have the timers on gear but zombies isn’t so it’s just dumb. Makes it even more of the setup purgatory
I think the main reason why I’m personally watching this video is because I like watching Milo make zombies videos. It doesn’t matter if it’s round based or not. This guy was first in the world to complete mw3 zombies in 36 hours, with no sleep. It’s always a blast to watch his content. So thank you Milo for making your videos fun to watch
They should learn from buried bo2 if they want to make a game extremely replayable, it had a bank where you could stash 250k, you could stash packapunched wepons, free perk for going through the witches house, you could draw wepons on the wall, awesome wonder weapon’s, great craftables from the bench, you can give leeroy candy to make the mystery box last forever or pick up a crawler not to mention the boos, and the Easter egg was actually hard but fun to do. It’s an easy game but it’s so creative and fun they don’t have to copy it but just learn from it and go uphill not downhill:(
