From what I have learned about coaching, you must never offer suggestions or recommendations. If you do, then it’s your agenda coming (judgement) through thus you’re not standing in the clients greatness. Also, suggestions offered are unlikely to be executed by the client. Rather coach them into finding the answers themselves

You can most definitely offer suggestions, as long as you're not a bad coach. Two minds can do a lot more thinking than one. It is good to hear professional recommendations. A client having an ego problem is a whole other deal

@@vkurtisweveryone thinks they are a good coach. Most are incorrect in this assumption.

OK, found it. It's called: How to Coach Your Employees to Figure out Solutions to their own Problems

1 tell me more about that (coachee starts to open up so you can listen carefully ) 2 What happened when you tried that? ( Gives you more information on what they have already done ) 3 How do you feel about that? ( The emotion that comes may help you identify the issue ) 4 How is that working for you? ( Designed to make coachees reflect or reconsider their own complicated decisions and take the ownership of what's going on ) 5 What would perfect look like? ( Brings coachee out of low vibration and expands the coachee's mind ) 6 What's one thing you could do to make that happen? 7 How can that happen? 8 What would happen if you tried this? 9 Have you ever thought about this? 10 May I offer you a suggestion? Don't say: if I were you I would do this, instead ask question 9 Remember: They have to own whatever decision they make and they will only own it if they created it so the questions you ask helps them find their own solution with clarity because they do all the talking

They say something stupid, you say hmm... instead of saying, well no thats wrong because xxxx. Wow. I definitely struggle with this because you can talk to me like I talk to other people and it doesnt hurt me. Fill out your hurt feelings report and move on.

AWFUL . This is exactly the type of video that will put people off entering into a coaching session as a person being coached. Now people know your "hmmm, that is interesting" translates to "what a stupid comment". Great way to inspire people to get self reflective and critical (!) Well it takes bravery to start sessions and get really self critical, and maybe sincerity would be useful! Talk about disingenuous coaches!

Gurpreet Palaha AGREED! "That is what you say to a person that says something really stupid" I cannot believe he said that !

I find this super soft. People that need to be coddled are soft. Its pretty sad you have to talk to people this way.
