I feel like you're doing this line a lot of disservice. He is mentioning this to Padme who loves sand and the beauty of the beach. Anakin is saying he doesn't like sand because he and his mother were slaves on a desert planet.
Another line of hypocrisy is Obi-Wan telling Anakin “you were supposed to bring balance to the force.” Bringing balance to the force is a neutral action that favors neither side but both the Jedi and Sith smugly believe it is in their favor.
@@greenrandall143 The entire prequels were about the hypocrisy of the Jedi. Considering "only a sith deals on absolutes" is itself an absolute I don't think that line is any different
@@StrikerEureka13 yes but you are clearly in that moment supposed to be on Obi’s side. The scene itself wound have used cues like music or charter reaction to make that point clear. The Entire prequel trilogy is also about the fall of Anakin form the chosen one to darth Vader, and gorge Lucas is notoriously bad at writing dialogue, even mark Hamal has said that certain lines where rough in the original trilogy, so I do think that this was Lucas trying to show how far Anikin had fallen
Yeah thats kinda what its supposed to be. The Empire. The rebell alliance. The senate. Probelm is, the politics in the prequels are just too boring for a child audience and too dry and stoic for an adult audience
" You're in my class, not the other way around! I know everything and you know nothing! At the end of class, both of you report to the principal's office... with your parents!"
You stole my thunder by pot this before me. A genuine thank you for also recognizing an acting genius who just wanted to make a movie for his kids months before cancer took him. Honourable mention to Chun Li and Zangief’s actors who stepped it up for their $30,000 pay checks. She was very earnest and his deadpan, “you got paid?” Has me in stitches just thinking about it! (Ming-Na Wen and Andrew Bryniarski were the actors).
"From my point of view, the Jedi are evil" is actually a decent line IMO. Opens the door to a discussion about whether they're wrong to train younglings in the Force.
Prime overanalyzation of a movie. It doesn't matter if the quote is decent or trash nobody should rate a movie by hyperanalyzing every word said and every movement of each actor to determine how good it is
@@Xadiusits a good movie but the writing, in all the starwars movies wasnt great. The themes, fights and overall stories are fucking wondeful but damn the dialoug was bad
@@718jefI don’t think most dialogue in originals were bad same with revenge of the sith are there a few bad lines yes but I wouldn’t say they ruin the film
@@Sassassin0117 watch the plinkett reviews They perfectly breakdown everything wrong with the prequels and episode seven and eight They didn’t do nine because they’re sick of the franchise
I “love” how he said “from my point of view the Jedi are evil”… and, in this war and everything that happened that could be a decent line.. but one of the two characters just came from slaughtering children…
I didn’t like the opening sequence with Two-Face but everything involving Edward/Riddler after that point was carried by Jim Carrey’s cartoonish mannerisms Batman And Robin (the movie) REALLY could’ve held off on all the ice puns and jokes but it wasn’t atrocious to me either
I like the line and all but if your talking about the Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omniscience, Biblical/Islamic God then no. God loves and cares for everyone and every soul. But of your talking about another god then maybe.
@@dragonmaster3207 Yeah we literally believe God became man and lived among us for 33 years I think this line is very stupid if applied to Christians 😂
“You came here looking for a madman, but instead you found a God” General M. Bison And the other classic “meeting Bison was the greatest day of your life…for me, it was a Tuesday”
@ljbproductions3350 I know right, it's like Mighty Ducks 2 is a movie I shamelessly find excuses to bring up in conversation with other 30 year olds but I'm pretty sure it got like a negative 2 out of 10. I can't even say the critics are wrong after "we will we will quack you" holy shit Still a childhood treasure to me tho
"do you know what happens when a toad is struck by lightning; the same thing that happens to everything else" is such an epic line that i don't care what anyone else says
Yeah that line from Spy Kids 2. I ain’t particularly religious, but that shit has stuck with me for years. I mean…damn. That is pretty deep and thought provoking for a silly kids movie.
One of the best lines I've seen is from Return of the Jedi, during Vader's death. "I'll not leave you here, I've got to save you. "You already have, Luke."
"From my point of view the Jedi are evil" is a pretty decent line since it makes you look at the Jedi from another perspective. They are an organization that was full of incredibly powerful space wizards who indoctrinate children at a very young age with very little oversight.
@@thomasthetankcat1133 I get what you're saying but I'm the context of the scene, palpatine has been seducing Anakin subtly and convincing him that there was a power that could save padme, who the Jedi don't even support that kind of relationship, then Anakin saw Mace Windu try to assassinate the Chancellor rather than go through appropriate channels to have him arrested, and then the friction that Anakin has been feeling with his master comes to a head when obi wan calls palpatine evil and Anakin throws it back at him. Also it's a play on obi wan not telling Luke that Vader is his father and justifying by saying that from a certain point of view he didn't lie.
@@Tacobell1384I think you're over thinking it. Lucas was always bad at dialogue, that's why his wife rewrote so much of the script of the original trilogy, and why Harrison Ford famously says "you can write it, but you can't say it." I don't know for sure if Lucas is autistic, but he's certainly an awkward nerd. He can make a fantastic space fantasy setting with a cool story, but he's not particularly good understanding how people talk.
@@SeymourLoliswhile I agree he sucks at writing dialogue, I don't think this is an example of how he's bad. The clone wars series shows that the Jedi aren't the paragons of good that they think they are. They're hypocrites that completely disregarded Anakin's emotions. He loves his mother and Padme but the Jedi doctrine tells him he shouldn't have these attachments and that he should let them go. He really isn't overthinking it.
I think you really misunderstood the quote "From my point of view the Jedi are Evil" a massive reason that Anakin even turned to the dark side and the rise of palpatine. Is generally because of the Jedi at that time were incompetent.
That’s not a massive reason Anakin turned to the dark side. It’s brainwashing and manipulation from Palpatine. Padme is the massive reason. He can’t let go being with her to be a super space wizard monk warrior diplomat. He is obsessed with her and this vision so much that he ends up killing her himself. It is only bc of this Palpatine starts taking advantage of this to convince Anakin the Jedi are evil. And you don’t give a convincing argument to say “bc the Jedi are incompetent they’re evil” like bro go back to screenrants 😂
"From my point of view the Jedi are evil" is a good line seeing as it comes from an angsty young man who was raised from the age of 9 by a militaristic religious cult that can only survive by kidnapping more children. Anakin's character isn't a thespian for crying out loud 😂
Bruh, the actors who worked with him in the original trilogy shit on him all the time. He made 2.5 good movies and everything else ranges from mediocre at best to cat vomit at worst.
@@hmetv8619if your going off dialogue alone it’s mid but the filmmaking is cap, they literally flew out to a real volcano to shoot footage and tested an incredible amount of water to get the perfect lava looking type the score was fantastic the CGI still holds up the choreography literally made a record, like the filmmaking is not an issue u have no idea what your talking about

The Prequels don’t have bad writing. It ranges from mediocre to great. The _Sequels,_ on the other hand, had writing that ranges from horrendous to pretty good. And, as I’ve heard it said, “there’s nothing worse than pretty good violin playing.”

I'm glad you showed that you like revenge of the sith because that's actually my favorite Star Wars movie. It disappointed me how much people just would count that movie out as just bad just because it's one of the prequels. I also enjoyed spy kids 2. I think it has some really funny moments. But I do think it's awesome You shared these quotes here. There was actually another type of series I was thinking of doing for my channel to add a little more variety to what I already post that's somewhat similar to what you're doing here but not entirely.
"You were the chosen one, it was said that you would destroy the sith not join them. Bring balance to the force, not leave it in darkness." Probably my favorite movie qoute ever man 🔥
i actually think that the line “from my point of view the jedi are evil” is a very good line. it makes you think about the jedi’s actions across the last 3 movies and how morally grey they are, like how they take children like the empire does (or will do) and see themselves as higher than others
You could argue that the atomic bomb brought more peace. They were only used once, to prevent a land invasion that would have killed millions, and they kept the peace(mostly) throughout the cold war. If MAD wasn't on the table, we'd still be fighting like it was WWII, just with modern tech.
"For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday." from the Street Fighter live action movie was a great line.
I remember I saw "Spy Kids 2" a few weeks before you posted this short. And I can concur that the scientist's quote about God and his creations, was way too good of a quote that had no reason to be in a family movie. When I heard that quote last time, I said a loud "That was so much colder than it needed to be." Or something very close to that.
