Rufus you have to be one of the very very few celebrities who speaks and acts like a normal person with no ego. You are so talented at writing. Love your songs.
myhomelandSA haha he definitely has an ego but he's so sincere about it, it still feels real and relatable. He jokes about how when his agent called him to tell him that Jeff Buckley died, he responded "....but did you hear that my album is in the top ten?" :D he's very dark humor is really self aware. That's why I love him. He's far from perfect but he's completely real.
This guy is amazing in every sense of the word. Not just his music...............I am so proud of the fact that he is unashamedly gay in a homophobic music industry. He's not gone for the quick fix, he's gradually built up his popularity as he puts it "one fan at a time." Dearly departed Stephen Gately couldve learnt something from him. H Watkins and Ricky Martin wouldve saved themselves a lot of aggro too.
OMG! At the end when he was leaving and crossed the door he didn't know wich way to go.. So funny! Everytime I watch this guy can't help but LOL- I absolutelly love him!
My god, I nearly fell out of my chair with glee when Jonathan started singing. And then again when Rufus joined in. That was brilliant! Jonathan needs to sing more often.
He's got the Judy mannerisms, too. (in the tribute clip) I remember watching her tv show as a kid. She was wonderful. And he is too! Thanks for posting this. My son turned me on to Rufus--he's got a huge crush on him. And I can see why! What a cutie he is! And I love his music.
This must be the best Rufus interview I've ever seen! Whenever Rufus is comfortable with the interviewer he's always a lot more articulate and funny and a lot less precocious (dare I say? hehe). Agreed about his laugh not being annoying anymore. Ehehehehehe. ...not that it ever was ;)
Charlotte Gage, when I first read your comment, in my early Rufus days, I didn’t understand it. How could he be both filthy and sweet? After seeing him perform 30+ times, I understand. He feels no shame, so there is no charge on anything he says. It’s all very matter-of-fact, so comes across as sweet, much like his comment on making lederhosen one’s own.
I love his voice, but... I'm not convinced it's suited for Judy Garland's kind of music... I mean, that's just coming from a STRAIGHT guy who happens to like musicals and show tunes, but still:P:D
I'm a STRAIGHT woman and didn't realize that Judy was also gay. Think we should all forget about this straight/gay thing and just listen to the talent that both put into their songs. Rufus' re-interpretation of this concert is just exquisite.
Dear Jesus, if you don't like the way he talks, that's your problem, not his. And if you decide not to be his fan/friend because of the way he talks, then he's better off for not having such an idiotic person in his company.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! He is gay! I'd never seen him except for when he performed and I thought he wuz straight! God damn it we lost another one girls! LOL Oh well, his beuatiful voice will console me :P
